You have managed to produce interesting videos all through those long phases of the build by adding explainer videos, family and life updates. I think you did this far more successfully than most of other channels. I look forward to the years ahead! ❤

What an inspiration. You guys are amazing. Not only are you building RAN 3, you've renovated your home (very attractive and snug in this video) renovated the barn and building spaces and are bringing up your daughter too - quite how you've found the time to do all this AND keep us entertained as well, has me in awe. Well done.

Don't sell yourselves short, a HUGE amount of work and planning has already been completed, and even though it seems slow at times, the PROGRESS is what matters and you've both been awesome in that area. True, about later projects getting smaller and more common, but to be honest, I've never see the Hull being created this way, and its super informative and exciting for me to watch every week. looking forward to seeing how smooooth we can get that hull, even it it takes a few episodes to get there. Cheerz !!!!!!

It is easy to see Johans time and energy, thoughtfulness , planning in the boat build. What It easy to , not see, is Malins energy, thoughtfulness , planning and execution, in producing these videos . While helping Johan in the shop. And, we see the Vera requirements as well. You guys are doing phenomenal work. While, seemingly, keeping a reasonable focus on what is important in life, family. And, any sailing channel that has cross country skiing in it , is priceless.

You are deserving of all the praise that you're getting in these comments. In essence you're creating a reality show that's Really Real. There Is no film crew except for yourselves. Even the production of your videos is holistically incorporated into your everyday lives. First you cruised the world while starting a family. In this next phase you find a special, run-down farm and make it your home base and boat works in the Swedish countryside. It really is fantastic. Those four hands of yours made it all happen, and we can't forget Vera. Think what her two growing hands will be able to do, as the three of you, in the not too distant future, set sail in your beautiful new boat! 😊

Seriously, thanks for all the documentation, especially the long boring bits. I aspire to build a boat too -- not nearly so big, but roughly the same construction style. It's sometimes hard to gauge from KZfaq videos how much work these projects are when all of them are like: 💥 _HERE IT IS!!!!_ ✨ The big reveal is cool, but those of us looking to replicate similar efforts want these details. So, again, thank you. 👍

I have had success sitting cups of mixed epoxy in an ice bath to delay the hardening process. This was important for me as I was working in a hot climate, but this might help in a colder climate, potentially extending the working time by as long as you need. A syringe of mixed epoxy can be placed in the freezer overnight and used the next day for example!

I can’t afford to be a patron but I’m dedicated to watching your show. You’re doing a good job entertaining and educating us as you go. I might suggest that you call to fiberglass co. And ask if there is an easier way to smooth your hull so as to save time. I like the netting around the rail on your other boat. At least while Vera is small. Kids can get away so quick. So from an old retired man in the Midwest USA (Indiana). Fare winds and following skies ( on the rest of your boat build and the rest of your life). It doesn’t always go that way. Joe Garner

I really enjoy watching you build this project it’s a big big chub project my father-in-law built four boats out of steel in the yard that he ran. He had cranes and all the big equipment that he needed to do that. His last boat was 58 foot long when it was fully built and everything was in for water and fuel it weighed 20 tonand my wife and I helped him on the build and other people too so I know what you’re going to. It’s a lot of work and I sure enjoy watching you. I don’t care if you feel the same thing over and over it still fun to watch.

I have had a boat for two seasons now and started watching your videos from the first one. It was so inspiring. Watching you fix RAN 1 and RAN 2 made me braver to attempt fixing increasingly complex things. This summer i will focus on learning diesel engine maintenance. I say all this to thank you for sharing your experience. It has pushed me forward where i was scared to go and every time i see your accomplishments I am grateful and encouraged. What a wonderful gift. And... I keep thinking you should start thinking of the splash party when you put RAN 3 in the water. I would totally travel from Seattle to celebrate the occasion. Premature thought? Maybe. But i really want to see that happen!

Diesel is an organic fuel and totally capable of contaminating itself in a short time with bacterial growth pass etc. So for maritime use its essential to use additional fuel purifier/polisher for the diesel to avoid engine. problems.

Composite guy here, for anyone wanting to do the same as RAN I advise to fair the core material first and if possible to buy wider fabrics roll so less sanding at the end. I do fairing almost every day and everything tiny things that could help reduce that work time will be greatly appreciated. Amazing project ! I love it (I will watch every video late after work doing the same thing 😂) I think it's possible to find 3m or 5m wide fiber glass roll for big manufacturer.
