Paul is talking to the Jews who were insisting on living by the law. Here, he was telling them what the law required. And, basically he meant that none of them could live by the law. And if they lived by the law they would be judged by the law, and the law doesn't save anyone, it only CONDEMNS everyone. So, if you keep reading, Romans 3:21 says, "but, NOW the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets." @Cheryl-te1zs Verses do not contradict one another. Salvation is a FREE GIFT. We MUST be born again We SHOULD live holy, that is not a condition of our salvation. How you live has nothing to do with your eternal destination. Salvation and discipleship are separate, discipleship/service is works and salvation is NOT of works. You can’t be unborn, you can’t cease to be a child. God wants what is best for us, He doesn’t want us to sin & He wants us to serve and there are blessings and rewards from God for doing so. There are consequences to sin for the believer, God chastises those that are His, but not loss of salvation. You are NOT good enough to earn your salvation and it’s totally asinine to think you can maintain it. If you could lose your salvation, YOU WOULD, I WOULD. The law is holy. It is a schoolmaster to show us our condition; to show us our need in the Lord. A holy law from a holy God, but no man can keep it, that is until Jesus came to earth as a man. @@malekalmohor7217 You can't be serious. Jesus is from Melchizidek priesthood , it goes all the way back to Adam first man , there was never "gap" between prophets of God. Islam claims to be another revelation with just another prophet of God tho it speaks contrary to previous prophets thus making Muhammad false prophet and not high priest after Melchizidek order. Not only Muhammad speaks contrary ( which God cannot do when He is posessing a prophet because He is using prophet's own lips to speak while not being able to lie or speak againsth imself due to being God ) but also Islam takes totally different and wrong lineage from Abraham , claming that Muslims are choosen people of God instead of Jews. On top of it , if Islam was correct , then you would need another 5-6 prophets between Jesus and Muhammad , because like I said before this religion isn't new , there was always prophet of God on earth with us, in Islam Muhammad is 1st , 2nd is Jesus but there is no mention at all of anyone else. And the joke of " Bible being corrupted" was debunked long ago , especially recently due to Dead Sea Scrolls . They predate both Christianity and Islam , people back in the past even before Jews but also the Jews , believing in things like trinity / God in flesh / virgin birth.
