We essentially just woke up in this body as an active consciousness as we start what they refer to as the "Human Experience". Noone can explain it yet, and it is still a mystery to us all. Cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present. In turn, Hell (as you know it) does not exist. It is simply the absence of God. The absence of life, joy, and all positive traits and emotions.

elilyt6 God is not something that can be proven. We (in my case, Catholics) believe that He exists, but we'll never know for certain until after our death. Until then, we just live like we believe there is a god. And if there isn't, at least we fed the homeless, visited the sick, and did everything else that we believe God would want us to do. For the record: I'm not a fan of this movie. I hate movies that preach to me. I'm fascinated by this movie the same way I'd be fascinated by a train wreck. elilyt6 I wouldn't say that I doubt that God exists. I have faith that God exists, but I will never know for certain if He exists until after my death. There is no hard evidence that I can look at and say "Yep, God's real." I think God understands, though. God doesn't hand us answers to our questions on a silver platter. As long as I keep seeking God, though, and don't give up, I believe He'll take care of the rest. I think of life like a race. God doesn't care if we cross the finish line. He just cares that we ran.

When I saw this trailer in the theatre, I was like: "They can't be serious. They CANNOT be serious. NO." They try to make this movie look all hard, probably to draw in the action crowd, with a van ramming into a house and even a fucking explosion. Sorry guys, but this is hard to take seriously.

This film looks noticeably less cheesy than God's not Dead and that Kirk Cameron movie--AND there seem to be some legit actors in this film. Seems these people are learning how to improve their films... now if only they could get the subject matter right.

The problem people have with this movie is that it seems to have an "Us v. Them" view of the world where, if you're not a Christian, you're incapable of having morals and values or otherwise being a decent person. the nowhere girl I get that too, what I'm saying is I only call someone out if they use a fallacious argument (Pascal's Wager, watchmaker, etc.) or they just say something that is flat out false ("atheists just secretly hate God", "evolution is a lie", etc.). I care about people having access to what is true, I don't care about what they personally believe.

the nowhere girl Actually many of us do that to project hate we built up inside in some sort of fashion. Many atheist are surrounded by religious people, many of which are their superior or peers. That's kinda lonely if you ask me. Me being raised by a pure christian parents, throughout the childhood they force their believes down to us. Making us trapped. Alone. Angry. Also christian causes lots of trouble in the sense they will project hate towards LGBT community for example. Something we find quite unreasonable. So basically its not that concept of god troubles. It's those people who enforce wrong knowledge (At least i think its untrue) and hatred in our life. And the common factor between that all hatred and enforcement is that they all used religion for reasoning. Something that lacks reasoning and requires pure belief. Yes it's misinterpreted. But there is not much can be done. The only option would be to have a therapist for every citizen of the world. Unfortunately our current requires that to be perfect. Just an opinion of mine. And after i typed the entire thing i realized this is 2 months old. Sorry for bringing up something this old :p

this movie is fine but we should not venerate the cross or anything we should respect the cross but we should only worship God and jesus because the cross is a piece of wood but christ is the living God

Flixer27 Tolkien was a Catholic. The actual story and lore of Lord of the Rings has next to nothing to do with a Christian message. Yes, there are parallels and analogues of certain Christian elements in the books, but he mostly took influence from the different mythologies of the world (mostly Europe though- it was what he was familiar with). What about C.S. Lewis? He was an Atheist and he used tons of religious mythological references in his books. My point: the religious slant of the author usually doesn't matter.

I was just saying that writers like Tolkien and Lewis can utilize any reference or allegory they want from any religion they want. However, now that I think about it- what was your intention of reminding people that Tolkien was a Chri- I mean *Catholic* because someone made a Samwise Gamgee joke?
