It's like finding a true friend and luckily this local fish store I've been dealing with for years and years and years we've built a pretty good rapport. In fact one of the six I got is not looking great and it's got a bit of a deformity and I don't think it's going to make it. I contacted them, sent them a picture and they said they would order me and new fish on them. No questions asked if there's any more problems

Thanks Gil. Yeah these fish came in pretty malnourished and I'm trying to fatten them up. One isn't looking the best and has a bit of a bent spine. My local fish store said they'd already would already replace it. No questions asked so I'm happy about that. Now I'm just trying to get over getting hooked on a few cichlids. As you know I've already got a trio. Now I'm looking at apistos. Oh great 😃👍 hahaha

Thanks Chris. Yeah they really need to fatten them up so hopefully they will color up nicely and then start growing. It's the same. It's a shame with the tropical fish that they are kept in small areas and underfed and really malnourished unlike koi that are generally beefed up

I really like this species of fish. I'll be glad when once they fattened up. I've been giving them some pretty high protein. There's one that doesn't look the best and my local fish store said they would replace it. No questions asked so which is cool I would love to see that at Pamela's gym. Maybe you can put it out there. Thanks again! And you're right, let the local fish store do all the take all the risks. Why should we right? Especially when we give them lots of business. I know you love your gold barbs. I'm just still waiting for you to get some more again . Now you've got me hooked on cichlids and I want more. I'm really leaning towards apistos as it will take cooler water and are very big but boy are they colorful and expensive? Thanks buddy

Sounds like you got a good spot there too. Adam, yeah, a quality local fish store should do that for you, especially if you're there fairly often and you get a good working rapport and they take your fish and back and forth. Why should we take all the risks right? Thanks again my friend

I figured in Australia they'd be a lot cheaper being that they're coming from just north of you It's a shame that the fish come in so thin and underfed and then you have to really work to get them back to health. Those are just amazing. Anyone who keeps any type of seahorse I think is pretty amazing. But the leafy ones are their their next level and I can see why there you would need a permit. Thanks again Ken, I appreciate it as always and I'm hoping your back is feeling better

Hey Scott, yeah the odesses and the gold barbs are extremely Hardy. They can take temperatures into the low 60s even high 50s if needed. I wouldn't do it for a prolonged period of time, but they're quite comfortable in about 65° at a constant temperature. Obviously they would excel at you know 68 to 70 but definitely an unheated tank. They will do! Awesome! All those fish that you saw were all born outside and barrels in our summer and we had some pretty cool nights where the waters dropped down to pretty cool and they withstood that into mid-september where I brought them in and we had already had one night of frost so that tells you how Hardy they are
