@@hermunkulus you can think of it as the law of supply and demand. If a pretty girl said yes to the first opportunity she wouldn't make it to work after leaving the house. Pretty girls are blessed with an abundance of opportunities being presented to them almost constantly, getting cues from males at almost every interaction - and we're talking dozens or hundreds of times per day during the course of the day. Guys in general get way fewer opportunities, so it makes sense for the girl to make herself difficult to acquire to ward off those who are disingenuous or who are just trying to get sex. It filters it down to those who are genuinely interested and are willing to go through the hoops. This is not limited to humans. Lots of species do it. Plus until recently with contraception control, any mistake on the girls part would have huge life changing consequences.

Advice: talk a lot, get to know the person and find out about their friends. Also make sure your friends can evaluate them before you get into anything. Don't want that kinda connection with a psychopath.
