What does EVEN mean? What does it mean if someone says WE'RE EVEN? And what's an EVEN NUMBER? In this video I explain four ways to use the word EVEN in English with lots of easy-to-understand example sentences.

The house was small, but it even had a wonderful backyard. The red dress is pretty, but the royal blue one is even prettier. The old car was reliable, but the new one is even more reliable. The temperature remained even throughout the day. She aimed to keep her breathing even during the race. The floor tiles were laid out in an even pattern.

She managed to finish the project on time, even with all the unexpected challenges. They were so determined to win that they practiced every day, even on weekends. The new software is so user-friendly that even beginners can use it with ease. She was so exhausted that she could hardly even keep her eyes open during the meeting.

Even the best laid plans can go awry. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Even a little bit of effort can make a big difference. She didn't even try to hide her disappointment. This salad is so delicious that it's worth trying even if you're not a big veggie fan.
