Just started watching this show and honest to god, this is the best I’ve seen weapons handling in tv shows/movies that I’ve seen in quite a while. Just the way he moves around holding the rifles is really authentic to how soldiers do and that’s some AMAZING level of detail in terms of military shows/movies. Also this scene with the axe had no right to be as brutal as it was but I’m glad it was as Reece is a man with nothing left to lose, so he caved in to the dark tendencies and becomes the monsters he’s hunting

If you haven't seen it the earlier seasons of Strike Back are pretty good in terms of weapon manipulation and movement. We're still largely in the era of television "whos a bad girl force choking the magwell" though with a solid C-clamp being few and far between. It's easy to pick holes in any of them but in terms of doing better than 99% of the other tripe out there it's definitely in top 1% at the moment. Honestly I don't know why they don't just make special forces/ops trained consultants the industry standard on all these shows, it's not like their is a shortage of them, especially if we're talking about the US which has more SF than most countries have regular.

For anyone interested, the book is quite a bit more brutal in certain parts, his families death is leagues more brutal in terms of timeline of events, he has more targets in the book and deals out more devastation across a 24 hour period, the tv show has a bit of a stretched out timeline, but it's still VERY good, the book just has more time to flesh things out and be more descriptive, the tv show added some brand new and fantastic characters, and removed some characters that were necessarily needed

@@daemonhunter100 In the book, both James and Lauren can access the gun safe. She attempted to defend herself and, with the gun, was the one who injured the gangster's arm. Unlike the show where they were shot a few times at most, he basically unloaded a magazine on Lauren while she covered Lucy. Neighbors heard gunshots and called emergency services. While Lauren died quickly from the wounds, Lucy was still clinging on to life but passed on the way to the hospital. And in the book, he held off his return to draw his attention Boozer's "suicide," so he could've been with them alive but he instead, returned home to find them dead. And after all that, he hears that Lauren was pregnant with a boy and wanted to surprise him with it as his welcome home from his final tour. So yeah, shit's sad.

One of the reasons I didn't like Prime's new Reacher series as much as I might otherwise was because he didn't mete out equal levels of justice. There's a Columbian hit squad that hangs a guy on his own wall and stuffs his balls in his mouth...they even torture and kill a pregnant woman. But when it comes time, Reacher just kills them quickly like everyone else...they pay no worse a price than the nameless warehouse workers in the finale. I expected a more satisfying catharsis.
@donalddavis7423
@donalddavis7423 Жыл бұрын
@@chaburchak see, I don't know if it is book accurate but I like that about Reacher. When there is fighting to be done it is about winning and nothing else. In his last fight with the rich kid at the end I first noticed that he doesn't talk in the midst of fighting either, because I was kinda expecting him to say something to the guy before he set him on fire, but no. I was briefly disappointed, then realized there was a certain satisfaction in just watching him get shit done.
@whitelabrat
@whitelabrat Жыл бұрын
@@chaburchak Eh every unit has those guys who do the revenge thing ... the ear collectors, the ones who shoot people for fun, etc. If there is enough discipline it doesn't happen but I had relatives who were in Korea, WW2, Vietnam... left to their own devices there are always people who like to make people suffer. There are plenty of them. Frankly they should not serve. If you have to kill do it fast and don't give them a chance. You can win without becoming them and in fact you should. Its a job. If you can't treat it as a job you are in the wrong profession. It does not make you soft. Example: when US forces crossed into Germany the first towns where people resisted... they didn't bother clearing it they just leveled it. Nothing personal just artillery until flower pots where the tallest thing standing. Town does not resist? No worries the front line rolls through and an occupation force moves in to hold it. But they leave it mostly intact. Word gets out pretty fast. Towns stop resisting in many cases. It serves a purpose without making it personal. In many cases people in towns killed the soldiers left behind or disarmed them before US forces ever got close. It is just the fastest way to minimize your own casualties without making it about revenge. I am aware I am vastly outnumbered in this comment section though.

Abby spared them both twice knowing that kiliiing them in cold blood would make her know better then Joel. @@fredsavage7380 the boys is a political satire from a left wing perspective. it is making fun of corporate liberalism and shallow liberalism, but the show is leftist at the core. ppl like to say it’s politically neutral but it’s obvious it isn’t. the boys is absolutely great. love the violence and writing

@@jlyon7065 that’s what I don’t like about the show. I can tell it’s lefty bias. I do like the parts where they call A-train out for “caring” about black people. Very true in America when black people scream for justice. The show nailed that point greatly. I hope you didn’t miss it

So glad they didn’t do any of this soft crap that movies and people in general are all about now a days. “Show mercy to the enemy, there’s good in everyone” or “everyone deserves a second chance” For example - Spider-Man no way home - The new Batman movie (I know Batman has always had the no killing rule but still) - The Walking Dead when Rick slits Negan’s throat and then changes his mind to save him, after everything Negan did to him - Jumper - Netflix’s Daredevil (there’s actually an argument The Punisher has with him about being soft and letting bad people live) - Netflix’s The Punisher season 2. The girl that follows him all season stops him from blasting a crater in a cho moe’s chest with a shotgun That’s all I can think of atm but I’ll add more when they come to mind

If Batman killed he would become a brutal killer who would never stop(Batman who laughs) and make him no better then his parents killers. Batman is mentally sick and is already on the verge of becoming evil. Daredevil killing would go against his whole religion. He leaves everything to Gods hand as he a warrior of God who delivers justice to the guilty but execution of their crimes to the laws and God himself.
