Learn how to create & apply the perfect skin tone with just Photoshop and find out whether you need a professional plugin for advanced controls.
► Check out Infinite Unify at pix.live/unify
► Check out Infinite Color Panel at pix.live/infinitecolor & use the code PIX20 to get 20% off.
In this video, we will create a skin color gradient from scratch and learn how to apply it using Gradient Map & Blend Modes. Whether you want to fix skin tones, modify them, or create a uniform tone throughout, this technique is an all-in-one solution. We will also apply the same technique automatically with the Infinite Unify plugin and see how it compares to the manual method. Besides, we will test whether the advanced skin tone controls in the plugin can be replicated in Photoshop. I hope this video helps you. Thank you so much for watching :)

Thank you. These gradient masks are really cool. I'm an old-school Photoshop user and some old habits die hard - for instance noticing bad highlights and discolouration becomes a skill, but often the fix is dirty - just painting Color layers on top with much more hassle and less uniformity.

I watch all your videos whether I think I will need them or not. I love getting new information. I do portraits and fine art photography (making my photos look like paintings). I can see how this might be a valuable tool in the portraits, but the fine art not so much. Great video.
@pratiknaikedu
@pratiknaikedu Жыл бұрын
Sue! I edit for Fine Art photographers a lot and we specifically use it there, typically to correct color casts on skin tones when we have ambient light bouncing off elements in the scene and reflecting and hitting skin. I don't remove it entirely, but get to subdue them and control just how much colors impact. Also when I edit for high fashion labels, I use it to ensure consistency of colors through garments due to similar color casts issues. Another area is vegetation, like greenery where parts are dying and need to be corrected, the gradient allows me to get a pretty nice and matching color replacement. I work with my partner Bella Kotak and it's been helpful before making large prints for shows as she shoots on the Phase system a lot.

Thanks, Unmesh! In your (or anyone else’s) opinion, how does Infinite Unify compare to Retouch4me’s “Skin Tone” plugin? Which one do you prefer?
@PiXimperfect
@PiXimperfect Жыл бұрын
Retouch4me is an automation tool and is excellent if you have 300 photos or no time. Infinite Unify is when you want to dig deep and have complete control over the gradient. Both have entirely different use cases, and it depends upon what is your personal workflow. If I had hundreds of photos from a wedding shoot, I would use Retouch4me. However, if I was retouching high-end photos, I would go for Infinite Unify.

I’m a federal contractor and I’ve been waiting on my next contract to start for 4 months now. MD unemployment is a joke so of course I have had no money coming in for some time now. But my birthday was last Friday and I REALLY wish I could of spent that money on this plug-in instead of catching up on bills lol It is mind blowing. I run into the issue of blotchy skin a LOT and from a time/energy savings standpoint alone, this plugin is ABSOLUTELY worth the investment. Blessings & Kudos to you all for continuing to support PixImperfect so that he can provide us content and tutorials like this on a regular basis.

I have a spin-off question. Your channel is brilliant! Why not take a look at doing some Affinity Photo videos. Unless this would conflict with any arrangement you have with Adobe? Most of the people I know have moved over to Affinity products from Adobe due to their pricing model. Having someone with your talent and skills create videos on Affinity Photo would make this a perfect world! Greetings from Scotland!

This is really a good plug-in, but I got confused when you were fixing the green color cast from the visor. Ben! You can make two Unify groups by holding "alt" and hitting create a second time. It will make a second group. To make this happen in your example, first enable the Black Mask button (the middle button on the bottom of the panel) and make sure nothing else is enabled. Then, make a selection with a lasso tool on the first subject and hit "create". Then mask in the first subject. Then repeat the process again with the second subject by making a selection on the second subject's skin. I hope this helps!
