This is something to research extensively at target schools. At some schools the answer is definitely no (though look beyond their marketing materials and try to talk to career services to get the real answer - the surface answer will not be no). But in the case of some schools, Booth, most notably, the answer is yet. At Booth, PT students get to participate in recruiting at the end of the program in the same way second year FT students do and in fact, interviewers don't necessarily even know who is PT and who is FT. This is not an ad for Booth. Other schools will also have opportunities, but this is what you need to investigate.

Sonal! Those answers are mutually exclusive. 🤣At least 1 and 2 are. So you can't have all 3. MBAs post 30 are great if they help you get more of what you want in your career. You might be looking into part time or executive programs at that stage, though, depending on your work experience. I have 3 ways I want to answer this question. 1. The first is that the likely bad scenario is obvious: you borrow money for an expensive degree that doesn't really help you get more of what you want in your career and you end up regretting the decision. Watch next week's video to avoid that scenario. 2. The second is to say that all choices in life entail risk. To take good risks, make sure you are comfortable with the downside risk. Are you OK investing a bunch of money in your education and your future even if it doesn't pan out? If not, then consider how you could get comfortable with that risk before applying to business school or consider other risks that you are comfortable with. 3. The third way I wanna respond is to say that you shouldn't even be asking this question in the first place because it's based in fear. If you follow the thread of any fear back to its source, you will find that at bottom, it is all just fear of death. But let me resolve that for you right now. We're all going to die, MBAs and non-MBAs alike. It's extremely unlikely that an MBA will have any impact on the timing or character of that inevitable end. That said, since the worst case scenario is inevitable anyway, instead of wasting energy worrying about it, wouldn't you rather just make the journey to that destination as awesome and fun and meaningful as possible? And on YOUR terms. It's your one precious life, after all. So I wouldn't spend a lot of time dwelling on what can go wrong. Be sensible, planful, and frugal. But don't doomsday yourself into inaction or out of something you want. A better question than "what can go wrong" is "What would my life look like if it goes right by MY OWN standards?" Or in other words: "What do I really want in my life and in my career?" Imagine that and then go after what you want with no fear. And if an MBA is a part of that, then go for it, again, with no fear. We're rooting for you to have an awesome, joyful career. It's what you deserve.

This is a fairly common reason to go to business school, especially if you're switching industry AND function, but the modules you take/ clubs you join/ network you build at business school also has to support it.

No big thoughts on Quantic! We've spoken about Online MBAs a bit on this channel ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lat-oMSn2KnLpYE.html ) and would caution that they often lack the networking, peer-learning and career opportunities of offline equivalents!

Yeah!! We've worked with just about every kind of candidate under the sun. Main thing is just to be really good at your job whatever it is and then to lay out a vision for your future that both requires and MBA AND leverages what you've learned so far, no matter how big a pivot you intend to make. RM folks tend to be great analysts, detail oriented and at the same time big picture thinkers. You should be able to leverage all of that!
