If your RFID chip be read up to 5 foot away. Meaning your card could be read entering and exiting a store. They may not be able to use your card but if there is a string of numbers that don't change, you can be tracked going in and out of businesses.

@Trillest Swordfish The cash registers receiver isn't designed to capture RF signals from a distance. Depending on the card, yes a receiver can be designed to read cards from many feet away. It has already been demonstrated.

@Trillest Swordfish Are you certain that there is no other identifiers being transmitted besides the one time code? Any series of unique numbers that do not change can be tracked. Those rfid detectors at the entry/exit of a stores for merchandise loss prevention can be easily modified grab anything transmitting. This isn't about stealing your money out of your bank account, this is about *TRACKING.*

@Trillest Swordfish He is not talking about credit card at all. He is talking about person ID card could be scanned by "smart lamppost" in Hong Kong.And Yeah, of course you don't need that when you are not living in Hong Kong .

Just bought a Dockers wallet with RFID. It uses "...special inner lining...keeps info safe when the wallet is closed." There is that enclosed card which states that it is a RFID secure wallet as well as a little 1" square sticker with a printed square and a diagonal line. My question: Can I discard those two items and the wallet will still have the security feature? Thanks.

According to the national news this information is out of date. They have reports of new business card readers reading credit cards through bodies and through purses without the wallets being removed. This is happening in stores and doctors' offices.

Hi where is the rfid chitin a scotia bank card and can washing under running water damage the chip pr lysol spray left 10 min to remove bacteria because of covid or hand sanitizer with paper towel or left on dashboard under the sun even if it doesn't become hot.

Probably not. Assuming that the risk for Flipper Attacks is very low, I only care that the RFID signals from my cards are being blocked when I have them in my wallet.
