I had lazy eye inwards and upwards at the same time. It was thanks to being born with scar on my retina from toxoplasmosis as fetus. So I´m half blind on that eye so I wasn´t using it =lazy eye. But they couldn´t cover my only healthy eye so I got surgery around when I was 9 yrs old. They told me I might need another one in 5 yrs. Now I´m 30 yrs old and my eye drifts off only when I´m super tired, because after that I worked on using that eye at least for my orientation/outer vision.

What if you have double vision? I have a lazy eye depending on what eye im focusing with. So both are lazy depending on wich eye im using. Im trying to figure out my best option to fix it

I have a similar condition and in my case I can fix them by myself by blinking aggressively and actively engaging them but the catch here is that someone needs to tell me that my eyes have a squint at the moment. Plus over the time this has made me a less confident person and I have a shorter attention span which Im trying to overcome.

I am now 72... When I was 6, I was diagnosed with amblyopia (lazy eye) in my right eye and had surgery to clip eye muscles to properly align this. Unfortunately, by that time my left eye had become dominant. I have correctible vision in both eyes, but normally see the world through my left eye unless it is closed and I see it through my right. Now I have cataracts in both eyes and need surgery. Of course I will provide the surgeon with this information, but first a couple questions: 1) Will surgery be performed on both eyes or just the dominent one? 2) If both eyes, then which eye will have surgery first? Any other information I should know about cataract surgery in this situation or inform the surgeon about prior to or after the surgery?

Get the lazy wye done first, then wait to get the dominant one done. It will force the lazy eye to wrk because it sees better.

I have a lazy eye it turns in. Wear glasses. But went for consultation to have an opetation to straighten my eye but the surgeon said i will need 2 operations one to straighten my eye and then one to correct my eye placement as he said it will be higher than my other eye. Ive never heard of this beofe is it correct

I'm 49 and I've learned to adapt to my right lazy eye by wearing eye makeup and lashes. People still stare at me, but I also receive nice compliments that my eyes are beautiful. I used to second guess myself and thought their compliments were fake.

If you can control your eyes, better make some self challenges to try to stay focused as much as you can. I do that at 21 years old after I feel too old for an eye patch. Sad that my parents couldn't read more about my strabismum when I actually needed to be treated correctly.

Not permanently, but you mostly learn how to control it.

what I have haerd that in older age if we do patching then the strong eye vision gets disturbed due to patching
