Getting foot pain is pretty common after you've been riding for a few miles. For some, it's worse than others, and there are a few causes. Whether you ride a Onewheel XR or a Pint, the issue can still pop up, and it may cause some worry as to how you're going to manage longer rides.
Can shoes help? Maybe. I now wear Vans sneakers when riding for longer distances, and it has certainly helped. Maybe it'll help you.

Hello, I am a onewheel rider living in Manhattan NY and came across your channel.. I found your videos to be very informative and helpful. Thank you for sharing good information, If you ever go on rides with other people or in groups I’d be happy to tag along

I don't ride a 1-wheel but do ride an esk8 so I think this would also apply , one day before I went out riding I tightened up my laces really tight and within 5 minutes my foot was cramping up. When I got home and had time to think about why I was getting the foot cramps really early in my ride was because I had tightened up the laces and was restricting my foot from expanding (swelling), or something along those lines. So if you are getting foot fatigue see if loosening the shoe laces helps with your feet getting better blood circulation.

Also if you trail ride find a good pair or knee guards. The cheaper one tend to be too tight on the lower cafe muscle and can cause a dead leg to foot fatigue. I recommend a knee guard with an adjustable lower cafe tention.

If you like the "cush" vans, you GOTTA try the Van's MTE shoes. They are really warm and thick but the sole is by FAR cushier and grippier. They are also water proof

Hydration and Cariuma work for me. I ride a lot of trails that require ( at least me) to pop off and walk short sections and that helps as well, but as the saying goes, YMMV

I've ridden classic SK8-His and Cariumas, and while I like them both a lot, my hands-down winner is the MTE SK8-Hi. Super comfortable, just the right amount of grip. Great for trails and street. I never get foot fatigue since switching to them.

I’m gonna be 70 soon, stopped counting my miles last year having reached over 6K, and my combo is Kush Lo, and Drft Running Shoes from NB. How I arrived at this combo is just an accident. When I first started I couldn’t find any shoes I was comfortable with, being a student of the Professor I always practice my ABC’s (Always Be Carving)but remembered some NB shoes I’d got on sale that were too tight for me, and I’d not ever worn but once or twice. I tried them, and have worn so many different shoes since, but always go back to the NB’s. So much so, that I just bought another pair in case they stop making them. I only use these for riding. They suck for walking. I’m using a wide footbox style (see more Jake shoe vids) for everyday use but these too tight running shoes, give me more cushion and arch support than any combo. I have three pairs of Vans, various other skate shoes and they all end up hurting my feet. YMMV but that’s my solution.

I too wear Vans but last year, after 3 years of riding, I picked up a pair of Vans MTE (Made for the Elements) and they are a game changer for comfort as well as much better traction on the board in varying conditions. Only caveat for me is they are a warmer shoe. They breathe well but warmer none the less. Great trade off tho when I'm way more comfortable, less fatigued, and like I said, huge benefit in traction. I mainly ride trails off road and can't imagine wearing another shoe they're that good.

Padded insoles are good, although it seems the key is softer foam style shoe soles!

hi Mario I used to yell at the screen during your older videos because the heel of your back foot was rarely in contact with the board , i did this myself and had bad foot fatigue untill i planted my whole back foot solidly

I don't have foot fatigue anymore. What helped me was to not stop riding when the fatigue kicked in. Instead I would pull over, take my shoes off and massage my foot for about a minute. Then ride off. I was hoping this video was about GT footpad sensor engagement. It's way worse than the Pint's engagement problems. I'm surprised it's not a common topic.

Agreed. What helped me is to ride with HOKA shoes. The shape of the outer sole helps to activate sensor . Less fatigue too

Converse might be the worst shoe? I don’t even like stepping on rocks when walking with mine. You can feel everything.

Foot Print and Remind Insoles are 2 of the absolute best insoles in skateboarding stair sets! They have both lasted the test of time and have improved a bunch during the years. You WANT to FEEL to increase control and stoke but also want padding which NO shoe is great with stock footpads and converse don't bother putting in half-good footpads and charging you double for mediocrity.

Started riding OW with Vans, have moved to Nike SB. I also find carving keeps both my feet and caves from hurting.

I have a lacroix nazare lonestar. Unfortunately the company went out of business or they sold the company. I can no longer get parts from them. I have a question. My motor is not working properly. It doesn't spin. They don't have the motor available for me to buy. Can I use a different motor with the one already on my board that works?

Adidas Cloudfoam is most comfortable by far but also less durable and will shred faster from the grip tape.

@Hewdiddy

1000% yes, but not for fatigue, for safety. If you wear sneakers with cushion in them your one wheel can mistakenly think you aren’t on the board when carving because you don’t put enough pressure on the sensor. Then it turns off and you eat shit. Ask me how I know. Wear skate shoes on a one wheel.

Vans is no surprise as just like longboarders e-boarders really gravitate to populist recognizable "mainstream skate branding" for some weird reason like they are posing to prove they aren't posers which is the only thing that makes them posers LOL
