One day you have plenty of room for a hopper loader of the saw dust and piece pile. Is there a mobile pellet mill system that leaves bulk totes or bags on wrapped pallets to recycle. Pellets offer more flexibility especially to sell for bbq smokers. Poll your resturants and partner with local bbq dealers. Do a free bag with purchase using your online order system. Easy to repeat purchase.

Thanks for video joe . That japa splitter is a pretty slick machine . I have looked at a lot of different splitters but this one seems to be a really good productive splitter . I like how it cuts and splitters. Probably would be the one I would buy if I was in the the firewood business . Happy cuttin

Good video as always. Like you I am always trying to figure out ways to be more productive or efficient. With your sawdust and scrap collection I cut the cage down along with the tank and then zip tied the tank to the cage that way the tank is still holding your waste but now is much stronger and easier to work with with a set of forks. Maybe this will help you.
@ohiowoodburner

I’m not crazy about the perfect splitter, but I do appreciate the consistency of product. Really like it when you’ve got the 6 or 8-way splitting larger logs. Guess I really enjoy the volume of product that flows out of the machine when that’s the setup.

Like the title says, I was trying to see a difference. The big thing that I couldn't miss is that dang door you gotta open to straighten the cutoffs before the splitter. I think you opened and straightened 6 times on that one log! How is it that several million owners of other wood processors are able to survive and continue processing, without a safety door? Apologies to Yapa, but if it were mine, I'd do some hot wrench renovations on that thing!! On the other hand, I sure like that log hold down!

Seems like it would be pretty easy to add a sensor while you're cutting the log that measures the diameter, and then adjusts the splitter height automatically. If Bob wants to drop off a 405 with me, I'll be happy to beta test the feature.

The skinny pieces - my log provider is also a firewood processor - my smaller processor set up is perfect for skinny logs whereas his larger machine is not - so he just separates them for me and ships them over. Skinny logs are great because you only have to split them once and they are ready for burning!

Joe, It is interesting that you mention the dryness - because my log supplier takes half the season to assemble a full truck load they are almost ready to burn after splitting. They are not productive with a large commercial processor but with my smaller Hakki they are perfect. @@ohiowoodburner

Easy peasy with the Japa 405, but yeah, I think you do get spoiled by the perfect split. (You don’t have to open the cage as much). Elaine from Canada here, very nice that you keep track of your customer’s needs, whether big diameter splits or small, you take care of ‘em all. It’s 0° F overnight here, I think I’ll stay in and watch you work in the warm sun And look how close you’re getting to 40K ! Great video and videography Joe, cheers.
