I have started coding with a 8 thousand rupees 2nd hand pc and I never asked my parents to buy me a good pc, after 2 years I started earning from programming and bought my first ever laptop from that money. Trust me guys khud ke paise se khareedna is the best feeling. And Harry bhai jo bol rhe hai that is 100% correct. All thanks to Harry bhai ❤️

@@devanshgupta4107 You can't find your passion or interest without trying it once. I highly recommend you to try coding and programming at least for a week or few weeks and examine yourself whether you developed interest in coding or not.

Just sharing my experience I started coding with my PC which has 2gb ram (less than my phone lol) some old age intel pentium processor and no graphic card at all so guys you can start with anything and when you think you have reached a significant level then you can upgrade for sure. 👍

When I was in 11th grade I didn't have a laptop in the starting of the year and my desktop was broken. But I made all of my projects in my phone and also earned money by making projects for my classmates. I wouldn't suggest you to code in your phone but it's definitely better than nothing. There are people who became programmers just by writing codes on paper.

I'm also a notebook coder. I believe notebooks are far better than computers. Sometimes, I code on a physical notepad, seating next to PC. This way we have to execute code in our mind, which is an another exercise that strengthens our problem solving skills.

Even I was same... 5 yrs ago I was blaming my parents for not giving me laptop with I5-6th gen processor, instead they manage to afford I3-5th gen processor Asus Laptop with just 4GB Ram... Only the upgrade I made was upgrading pc to ssd which costed 3k only.. And after completing my studies, started working for TCS, doing post graduation my PC is still running fine even after heavy liquid damage and workload... I still hesitate to upgrade to new laptop as my old still runs all those things smoothly which I do as a Database Developer. That PC I consider as one of the best thing my parents gave me... Configuration of pc doesn't matter, the only thing matters is your knowledge and your willingness to learn and work.. I hope new generation understands this 🙌 thanks harry bro for highlighting such issue

And also it will be future proof means it will work smoothly for next 3-4 yrs for sure... I5 8th Gen is almost 4yrs old processor & will not work if you want to run premier pro & all

Well described Harry. I am a developer having 10 years of experience and I using a 2nd hand laptop worth 10k(Lenovo ThinkPad 14"). I work all day on this laptop having 4gb ram and I didn't face any issues. I must say all students or working professional who do not wish to invest much on laptop can buy a good condition 2nd hand laptop and work/study on it.

Completely agree! I used my own KZfaq earnings to upgrade my i3/4GB Ram laptop to 8GB Ram with an SSD when I felt it's slowing down my work. My father wanted to buy me an expensive laptop but I thought that won't be necessary. Since then, everything is going so smooth with the machine and I don't even feel the need to buy a powerful machine yet.

True, I am completely with you on this Harry. Even ML could easily be carried out by using Google colab. I myself crossed my college without any laptop or system. All I had was curiosity and pydroid on my phone. CP was a bit hard, as websites like codechef, hackerrank are not optimized for phone, but somehow I managed it. I am in my final year of college and got selected as Machine learning Research engineer at Siemens, before that I worked as Machine learning intern at another startup called Springworks. Its all about hunger for learning and thirst for hardwork. If you have will, there is always a way, it might be trampled or difficult, but there is always a way. Adversity either build you or destroy you, its completely on us, that which path we want to choose. Lack of something can never be an execuse. Really happy that you picked up this point. Kudos to you.

You will need definitely, once you will use docker images, virtual machine etc for your server you will need heavy machine for sure, i am having 16gigs and i feel like i should buy more. Lol

In your initial phases you definitely don't need a expensive lappy, I purchased 60 k laptop and am just not using its graphic card, the only advantage you get is an IPS display in expensive laptop, which is a bit better for eyes else you simply don't need, (I am playing GTA vc on 1650 lol which used to run on by duos machine as well lol)

I started coding 4 year ago from class 6th, I had a pc having pentium e5700 processor and 4gb ddr2 Ram. I had learnt HTML, Css, Js, PHP and I know basics of perl, ruby, python. I learn these languages without any paid subscription, I used to learn these stuff using Browser Inspection and W3Schools.❤

@@Aisha-110 As I mentioned if you are curious enough there is no need for any paid subscription, You can learn HTML, CSS, and JS just using Browser Inspection tool. Later when you will learn basics of these three then you can move to learn Higher level like CSS frameworks(Bootstrap etc), PHP, etc. from w3schools. By learning these 4 languages you will become a Fully stacked Web Developer!

Hello mate, I'm a game dev, this video is perfect for beginners... And is recommended, high-end specs are not required unless you're code needs it, but if you buy a modular laptops it would help in a long run. It would be bulky but can be upgraded.

I have Dell duel core laptop in which I learned c and c++ . Now I am having an 8gb ram , 4 gb graphics , And ryzen 5 for learning jave and Python (Python is yet to be introduced) , but I am happy that I can learn them in my old laptop even so that I won't be needing to take that expensive laptop to Bengaluru .

I coded python in sublime text because visual studio code didnt run well simultaneously with browser due to just 2gb ram and learnt from it only. Now, i know creating python packages, flask python oops, etc. After one year of coding, i have now got a laptop which can finely run IDE's. My opnion is that if your laptop/computer can't handle heavy software, don't force it to do that. Instead, use lightweight softwares. You may not get good autocompletion but atleast you are able to code

Good video. I have started my coding journey with 1gb of ram and 1Ghz(dual core ) processor Lenovo laptop. It was not that good but I could learn learn basics and intermediate level of coding and web development (I am not in field of computer science in college). So from my experience yes from descent laptop we can learn coding basic to advance level too. And I know a lot of parents don't bother to invest on child (except school and college fees) even they can give a good pc to them. But blaming is really not gonna help. Just start with what you have. Even if you have phone you can just learn basics and little bit of intermediate stuff which will really help when you get pc/laptop.

In first two year of my graduation i had a laptop that takes around 30-40 second to start a word file and can't use without charger plugged in but still i had no major problem with coding as there are many online compilers for initial learning then in 3rd year I bought laptop from my scholarship ( technically to sab ma-baap ka hi he) I learned several things , it helped me not only in collage life but also for refreshment as I can play Counter strike Global offensive smoothly even GTA 5 and now after graduation just 6-7 months I earned more than I invested and the graph keeps rising as other expanses are also going to be recovered soon.

Simply buy a Desktop. A high end machine with Ryzen 6400 gaming processor and 16 GB RAM. 250GB SSD cost 30,000/- So a low budget Desktop can be built by 20,000/- Monitor may cost 5K.

Yes I have a laptop with Intel pentium processor and 6 gb of RAM and 500gb of hdd and I am using Ubuntu on it. My laptop works very faster with Ubuntu and I can run any program without any problems. Except python machine learning projects.

Below 20k laptops might seem cheaper, but in the long run, it will cost more. i have seen many cheap laptops which go bad very frequently. And service charges aren't cheap either. So its better if our budget is at least 50k according to me.

@@rajat346 First thing that I'm also in cyber security and we are just hackers and we're not gamers so no need to have a very high specs of pc you just need a laptop of good quality like of around 30 to 40 thousand to purchase a good and high quality laptop or you can build pc but I won't suggest you PC because it's impossible to carry it everywhere and also we aren't gamers so best option is to have a classic good quality laptop No need to spend lakhs because it's just money waste

I have a dell inspiron 3000 series i3 512 gb hdd...it works fine for react node., Its slow, but I manage somehow. Sometimes its frustrating.yesterday I almost broke my mouse in frustration. I dont have even money to buy a new 35k laptop😐. I dont blame anyone for this. I am working more and more hard to change my situation.

Very motivating indeed. I was looking for an answer to the question, if I am in a position to buy a new laptop, what will be a VFM Spec be. Consider ML, Android Studio and such processor intensive applications. Is a graphic card necessary? If yes, which one would be adequate? Even if I can spend 1lakh, is it necessary & wise, when a lesser priced model will do the job pretty well!? Disappointed that I couldn't get answers.
