I always figured that after saving the world, winning a death race, and venting years of sexual frustration with Keira, that Jak just mellowed out and that was why he was way more chill in TLF. I mean, after fighting off a spaceship full of eco-horrors ... well air-pirates just don't register on any threat scale.

This was actually my first game in the series, so without the comparison, 10-year-old me really enjoyed the game, to the point of 100% completion.

This game created a one-sided inside joke between me and my sister whenever we'd be discussing something that was terrible but had at least one good quality. I would always chime in with "Well at least the air combat was good!" and then she'd get mad. Good times.

Between this game, Size Matters, & Secret Agent Clank, I feel that no one realized that PSP games should have never left the PSP

I bought this when it came out, and that was a weird situation. I was a huge fan of the original trilogy, but had no idea this game existed until I happened to see it in the case at Walmart. So I picked it up to complete the series, played it for a few minutes the day I bought it, then proceeded to completely forget it existed. In the years since I've seen it on the shelf a few times, set out to give it a real shot, only to get bored with it again after a few minutes and forget all about it again. It's like a black hole where attention goes to die. The most interesting thing about it is just how uninteresting it is.

I played this on the ps2 awhile after it came out and I was happy with my experience and I had played the prior games except Jak-x and I never hated it and Jak's personality change makes sense if you think about it in Jake and daxter his personality seems similar to what it is here .the reason he went darker was dark eco but since light eco was then infused to him it balanced him back out

Hey now, I really enjoyed the lost frontier. I also loved size matters, and secret agent clank. I had all 3 jak and daxter games, most of the ratchet and clank series, and all the sly cooper games. But I'm also a weird dude.

I honestly enjoyed this one. The Eco shortage was because of the events of Jak 2 and 3 where praxis kept giving the metal heads Eco he couldn't afford to and in three with the war between KGB and Metalheads. To be honest it did feel like Jak but not a true sequel more like a spin off that we didnt really want As much as I enjoyed it its probably what killed the series I'm like one of ten people that liked it.

Ratchet and clank size matters is a great game. My only complaint is that it was too short. They did a lot of new things that was fun such as how the armour worked. Don't compare Jak and Daxter the lost frontier to Ratchet and Clank size matters. They may have been made by the same game developer but size matters was one of their better games they made!

"Good ol' Mormon Boy" Hahahaha! I'm a Mormon and the Jak series is one of my favorite game series of all time. But yeah, it's so sad this was the last Jak & Daxter game we got.

It will sound extremely unusual, but I sorta grew up with The Lost Frontier, although to my defence I was only 6 years old when this game came out in 2009 and the only other game I was aware of was Daxter on PSP. And to top it of I live in Poland, Europe and (believe it or not) The Lost Frontier is the only "game" in the Jak and Daxter canon that got Polish dubbing so far. When I grew up, it was only then I got to know the other games and played them. (that Daxter vs Pecker beef was the most iconic moment from the series to me)

I remember there was a ship mission in the late game which i started in a different way ( i think i didnt buy a ship you needed to do the mission before i did it) and it woulnt let me exit the mission. I got stuck and had to start again.

I played all three jak and daxter game back when i was younger which were my childhood to play since i loved the games so much. I also played jak X which was a cool race game but i never heard of this game ever before until 2018 when i went back to google the games and found it

Imagine a universe where Naughty Dog made the real version of this game for the PS3 after Uncharted and called it Jak 4 The Lost Frontier. We were fucking robbed.

This game has ONE good scene and it's when Jak finds the chamber when people where being expirements on with Dark Eco and FREAKS OUT.

Late to the party, but whoo boi these Jak videos kick ass! The Jak series remains one of my favorite PS2 games (with Jak 2 being one of my favorite sequel games EVER) and was always curious about this one.. you have saved me a great deal of time.

I think on PSP the experience was ideal, it was so much fun when I was younger, replayed the game more than I should have. Having it ported over I think is what made the other version just so shit because it was some really poor decision making, how so? Well they ported a PSP game over to PS2/3, the textures are low res because it was designed for the PSP, its one thing porting from PS3/2 to PSP because this way you could simply just downscale the textures and it'd be nice and dandy, with what High Impact games did is if they wanted to literally improve anything, they'd have to build brand new textures from scratch.

I think Daxter looks kind of cool in this game

Overloaded with problems? Bad ideas? Boring plot? Yes. But I had fun with the flying i'm not gonna lie. And for me at least pirates in any form will always be cool.

The Lost Frontier was an abomination of a game and a horrendous sequel to Jak X: Combat Racing. Not only was this game not developed by Naughty Dog - ahem, I'm slightly wrong, Naughty Dog DID work on it in the beginning but had to give to High Impact Games because they were unable to work on it and Uncharted 2 at the same time - but HIG really didn't show their work. This game suffers from a predictable storyline, bad voice acting (WTF did they replace Mike Erwin!?), cutscenes lack depth or shading making it look like it was still in beta testing, terrible camera, clunky controls, a ridiculous amount of plot holes and contradictions to its lore, and load of other things. They clearly have no respect for the series or its fans. This game was an insult.

Everything wrong with the game: -The Eco powers make no sense (like for example, how does blue eco....the motion creating eco....freeze time??) -The characters are stale, boring, and poorly written -It's hardly even open world -The guns are so terrible and lackluster. THEY REPLACED THE PEACEMAKER FOR A LOB THINGY -Dark Daxter is the Tasmanian devil (minus the action) -Jak can't go Dark jak....but anybody else with dark eco can (and it's never explained) -Random non-eco sages use eco....so it removes Jak being special -The combat is clunky as hell -They made Kiera and Jak ugly AF -The hellcat is NOT that ship -Why would eco be crystallized?? Isn't it just energy??? Yah know...mass-less -Flying is boring and a wasted mechanic -Flying and shooting is hard and if you do it wrongly in the last flying mission, your game can break -Sky Pirates....................just why?? Everything good about the game: -Daxter is the same -Jak teleportation was cool.......even tho it was super limited to its use and gimmicky.
