Yes, as the comments have stated, I am aware that the pronunciation of leoneedus is more accurate. I appreciate the clarification! I have never heard it pronounced that way where I am from just as I’m sure there are words in certain languages you have never heard pronounced certain ways or even know about. That is just how the world works. Can’t know everything. Especially if you are from a completely different part of the world that speaks a completely different language. But I do appreciate those who have kindly pointed it out without sounding pretentious or trying to troll! For 2005, having that many AI on screen was pretty damn impressive.

This game was pure satisfaction. The story was Jason and the Argonauts meets 300 meets Conan the Barbarian and the gameplay was nonstop dumb fun carnage. It even came with a cool little arena mode where you'd face off against larger and larger waves of enemies (with friendly units and support unlockable through the main campaign). A highpoint in gaming developed by people who just want you to have fun.

Memories flooding back from this vid. I played this game so much as a kid. Sure, it was wildly historically inaccurate and unrealistic, but it was so much fun. Anyone who has played it knows what it was like picking up The Blades Of Athena for the first time and using the special attack. This is probably the only PS2 game I would consider buying a PS2 just to replay it again.

Yeah this game was my childhood. I remember getting as far as the Sahara missions and then getting stumped as a kid due to being dumb. Could never protect that village with the water tower mission. So I constantly replayed the first level and the medusa level due to having fellow spartans. If they ever make a remaster I'd probably play it with a npc spawner and just every level spawn tons of spartan allies.

I loved this game! I picked it up in 2009 and it was a blast from start to finish.

(the closest thing to the letter δ in English is d but it really dose not sound like d) FYI (to make sure the letters are correct) the "E" on the name is like Eclipse and the "I" like Icarus. This game was pure joy for me and I can't think about this game without hearing Ozzy Osbourne's "Let Me Hear You Scream" Song that I used to play while Hacking through enemies lol.

I just remembered something about this. In my graphic design class back in high school I made a cool looking edit of the picture in the thumbnail, I made him look like this fiery/lava/ash mythical warrior, cause the shield, armor, swords and everything had that kind of pattern in it, he looked like he came from Hades or something...and yeah got an A. But the point is that years later I find my picture online and people using it for various reasons and I don't even know how that got there because the only one I turned this over to was my teacher lol. Oh and I think someone was even selling it lol.

By the time Rome conquered the other Italian tribes and moved in campaigns across Europe Sparta had long been faded and became a kind of historical site/ theme park for the Roman’s to visit and watch re-enactments of Spartan culture , kind of like when people visit pioneer/colonial times towns and watch settlers churn butter
