This is why I love the Los Angeles area; it has to be the mall capitol of the world. I thought I had visited all the malls, but this is one I missed and will visit soon. Thanks, we have to support malls, so they don't die off, some malls are adding activities like Pickle Ball courts and Putt-putt Golf to survive. I would like to see more 3D virtual reality rides added to malls.

Awesome, there are over 30 malls in and around Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties. I have covered most of them. There are a few I haven't done yet.

I remember that mall. I always wondered why San Fernando Ave just dead-ended into the mall. Ikea was the main reason to drive up there. Some decent restaurants on the streets surrounding it.

I used to go to the IKEA there before they relocated to a new, larger location. There also used to be a Barnes & Noble and a Virgin Mega Store there. I actually liked the old IKEA at that location much better than the current, larger store. I had never been in the enclosed section of the mall where the Sears or other typical boring mall stores reside. It has been ages since I have been in that area and have no idea what is left, if anything, from the old Ikea building. I had assumed it would have been demolished totally and replaced with some non-descript, overpriced apartment/condo complex!

Oh Burbank Town Center, this has one of the last Sears to exist. Apperently it actually closed in 2022 but reopened somehow along with another location in Washington in 2023

This is one of those malls I lived close to for all my adolescence, but only started visiting about 10 years ago. In that 10-year span: the food court was moved from the third floor to the first; where round one is now use to be a Sports Chalet; the first floor lobby had a giant chess board and was where they’d put the Christmas tree; this last one I may be misremembering with a different mall but I believe the third floor had a big indoor playground. This mall has changed a ton in a decade. It keeps busy with the shops off San Fernando rd.

The current remodel of the mall makes it feel sparse and empty even when you're there with a lot people. Some of it I think is fewer shop windows and all the walls.

Used to like going to the food court to eat at the Wahoo’s fish tacos, but they’ve gone out of business. Can’t find a reason to go there now - Northridge mall and Topanga mall are both much closer for me. But i do miss this place and have some memories there. Its nice to see they’re still open, but i just don’t know that anyone has the disposable income for these type of places any more.

The old Ikea will stay dead forever at this point, sad
