The 1986 movie Short Circuit deals with a robot called Johnny Number 5 and his escape from a test lab. It is sort of about Artificial Intelligence, but it is a fun movie, too.

I love this movie. It takes place near where I live and grew up. It was a great film.

It was a fun movie and Johnny #5 was a kooky robot. The house Stephani lived in was near a big bridge.

@@variousvisfineart There are a couple of bridges near there. The Columbia River separates Washington and Oregon in that sections so bridges are required.

The thing which concerns me about AI is we all know it thinks *like* a human not *as* a human. Remove the human control aspect and why would we assume AI would behave or have the morality of a human? It isn't a human

The media is currently talking a lot about AI because major tech companies are investing a lot of money to develop it, especially since Facebook came up with the metaverse. It's amazing how much media influences us.

I am hesitant about diving into AI.

I really like the first movie. I ended up watching the second by chance, but it really sucked. As far as AI becoming more powerful, as long as they follow the three laws of robotics I will be (mostly) okay with it. If they get hacked, however, all bets are off.

Was it sci-fi writer Ray Bradbury that come up with the three laws? Or did he just write about them in hi books?

@@variousvisfineart It was the Foundation series where they were created. I don't think it was Ray, but I'll have to check.
