In this video, I guide you through the importance of functional pelvic movement in the golf swing. Using the 'wrench analogy', I illustrate how understanding the anatomy of the pelvis and its dynamic role can improve both your rotational and linear movements during the swing. I provide clear instructions on how to functionally move your pelvis for more consistent golf club delivery.

How about simple push back (just like you start to step back) by the right leg and push back by the left leg. Should it produce the same hip movement result?

I’ve never seen this 2 wrench hip rotation analogy before. Even though I haven’t made a single drill swing yet, it totally resonates with me. I am going to take the advice about drilling without ball striking for awhile seriously…..

This has made such a hug difference to what is called (weight shift) I cannot thank you enough for the wrench analogy this makes it so much easier to understand not just why, but all how to get the centre of mass ahead of the ball at impact without trying to physically move ahead (bump / slide). Thank you truly.

Watching this Vid after taking in several of the Early Extension videos. However I had to turn on CC to see if you were saying what I was hearing - Right around 10:00 mark is the 2nd time you uttered - "Do it in pieces, Do it in Freezers' Can you expand on - Do it in Freezers?

What I mean by that is take it 1/2 way back and stop. Then go to the top and stop. Then start the initial downswing and stop. Then feel impact. Stop at certain areas where there is a movement change with the pelvis directionally. I’d recommend doing this in pieces standing in front of a mirror

I like the concept. But I "assume" we still allow the hands and shoulders to start the backswing and then the pelvis moves in this fashion?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf Жыл бұрын
Correct. Keep the connection to the ground and start w/ upper body movements and then turn the pelvis later from roughly P3 to P4! Thanks for the comment

Haven't been able to clear my hips correctly in my entire golf career spanning nearly 20+ years :( In your video with Cogorno you utilize an antenna to visually see how your hips should move on the downswing, but never really said what you're looking for from the antennae. Would you be able to clarify this? Great videos, and excited to try your drills and see if i can figure out how to finally properly clear my hips.

So once you have turned the trail hip back about 45* in the backswing, the lead side of the pelvis is responsible for getting you back to square or just a bit more open than that. From here trail side will finish the motion (very similar to throwing a baseball like a pitcher). I will put this on my list of vids for the next time I shoot content for sure! Thanks for the comment, feedback and question! TS

Great video! I’ve been working on keeping the pelvis back / deeper and I feel so much more room for my hands. As I work deeper though I feel my exit is more left and I’m hitting more overdraws. Do you think I need more trail side bend to offset that or something else?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf Жыл бұрын
The two things I’d check is making sure when lead side is working back, that you don’t still have pressure back on trail side foot (or secondary tilt). The next place ti check is the exit and see what the face is doing from a release pattern standpoint. Let me know if that makes sense and very happy to help!

Are you saying don't slide in the back swing to the back foot but turn as if you were in a barrel
@tsgolf
@tsgolf Жыл бұрын
I’m saying to learn how to separate different sides of the pelvis moving at different times. Trail side of the pelvis starts first working back towards the center of the body, then the lead side begins in the downswing.

Hi Trevor. From what I think I see in your demonstration, the hips and above body start the downswing at the same time. No need to start downswing with an independent hip movement? Thanks in anticipation.
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 9 ай бұрын
I’m actually sequence the lead hip would start the transition early. This is what would start the true and proper sequence of movements back down to impact
@RWCARC
@RWCARC Жыл бұрын
New to your channel and been trying to work on this exact movement. Really like your explanation! From your point of view, do you feel having a more raising of the right hip feeling as the hip drops back is a good thought? Also, I find bumping my left rib cage slightly forward, which together appears to offset my upper back to my hips. When done correctly, it feels much more easier on my back than having side tilt, which causes back pain as I rotate in my backswing and forward swing.
@tsgolf
@tsgolf Жыл бұрын
Trail hip is always going to be moving higher in the backswing. As long as it is moving back to the center of the body, hip isn’t coming out of its socket and the lead knee isn’t collapsing, you should be good to go! That can also offset the left rib cage bump you are taking about! Let me know how it works and if you need anything!

@@tsgolf Thanks for the insights! Playing in a few hours and going to combine this with your alignment video of right hand on club and facing target, then place left hand on the handle which sets the body square to target line. Hope all goes as planned and I stay focused, and will let you know how it goes 😉
