I get my boy on the 12th of June

Our puppy just got the surgery 2 weeks ago and the foam and Stitches are gone . But ears are still not 100 % percent healed should I put foam back on ??

My Doberman just got his ears cropped yesterday. I’m picking him up from the breeder Jan 11th. He hasn’t given me much information on posting. How long do I have to do this for? So I can start to plan cause I’ll get him as soon as they take off the stitches. And when do I start to post???

Even though this video is perfect, I'm a bit tactile and want to see first hand. Both my older dogs ears came out perfect. My new pup is still in posts and looking good.

I'm pretty sure your vet should tell you once your puppy 's ears see cropped. If you got them from a breeder that should tell you.

You might want a cone to put on your Doberman. That should prevent him from getting it off

Well he shouldn't have had his ears posted right after the crop... your supposed to wait for the ears to heal first

My puppy started his ear posting at 7 weeks old. I followed this method a few times, and every time making some adjustments. The issue I have is that the foam pieces keep popping out causing the ears to bend forward. I am using the 1/2 backer rod pieces.

You have to crop the ears. It's really the whole point of the process. You can't post the ears with cropping them. :)

cropping is the actual surgery to shape their ears and posting is the "cast" to make sure when the ears are healed they stand up they way you want them to

You have to wait til the ears are completely healed to post. Anything before that be will asking for a infection or even worse loosing part of the ear.

no not at all. ears can be cropped at any age long as its done by a good professional. the older they are, the bigger the two main veins in the ear are, and the more blood they shoot out like jet streams, which is why the shitty vets dont want to do it. Thats a great indicator as to if you are dealing with a great vet vrs one who doesn't know half of what he should. ive seen dogs done at 2 and 3 years old. the lenght of the crop will be the main determining factor as to if the ears will stand on their own once cropped. short crops like bully dogs stand soon as cropped cause most the weight of the ear is gone therefore no longer weighing the ear down. but long crops like dobie and great dane crops likly will not stand on their own so if you have a dog requiring a long crop, you need to have it done while a pup so this taping can be done to hold the ear up while the cartlidge in the ear is hardening. .

It actually depends on how big their natural ear is. Sometimes you are able to. Most times you aren’t though.

Hey Jose Jorge! Despues de las 8-12 semanas de edad se pueden cortar las horejas. Se pueden cortar despues pero recuerda que las horejas se estan endureciendo. Cortando las horejas a los 10 meses no es muy bueno porque sera dificil pararlas. Que tengas un buen dia!
