To anyone doing this in the future, after you open the drain valve on the rear filter housing as he shows in the video and it stops draining, loosen the main cap(not all the way off) and you will get more fuel draining out of that drain valve. Then grab a plastic bag put it over the whole thing, turn the cap until the filter comes out and the whole mess will be in your garbage bag. No spills, no stink, done. Same thing with your oil filter put a bag around/under it once its loose, turn it by hand with the bag covering it, let it fall down in that hole with the bag and you wont spill oil all over the damn place.

Thanks for the video, I’m glad I watched it because I had to dig in the trash for the box and sure enough, there was an o-ring in a plastic bag and this was just from the front filter

This was a good video. Thanks for the insight. I just bought a 2023 and will need to do this shortly.

Same filter’s I use in my 21 ho. So far so good. I try to change mine ever 9 or 10,000 miles . Prob a waste of money , but I feel better changing them alittle earlier than I have too.

Kudos to Dodge Ram for their 100% piss poor placement of these filters.

It's not that bad, the under hood filter is a little tight. I have pretty big hands and still not a problem.

The water separator isn’t to bad but the front is horsesh!t. How the fugg does it make any sense.

I have a '22 Cummins HO as well. I use a short plastic empty coffee can that fits perfectly under that rear filter. Let us know how you like those 'Docs' filters. As of yet, I've only used Mopar. Thanks for the video.

I’ve used nothing but Doc’s in my ‘22 I really like them. Nothing bad to say at all.

Appreciate the video. I’m new to owning a Ram Diesel so this helps. Love the dog in the background in most of your recording. My wife’s dog loves hanging out in the garage with me while I’m doing whatever as well.

How good are these filters I’m thinking of ordering to save myself money caused my dealership charges $220 MSRP and I do them myself
@fishfearus25203 ай бұрын
Everything I read says they are independently tested and meet or exceed OEM standards. They look no different then the OEM’s

Hey are you sure it’s a 28mm socket for the fuel filter cap?
@fishfearus252011 ай бұрын
Yes that is correct size.
@darrenwlewis3 ай бұрын
28mm worked for me for both covers. That said, I had to use 8mm on the rear petcock valve, not the 3/8” mentioned.

I didn’t see you put the juice in. Doesn’t it need it?
@fishfearus25203 ай бұрын
No need to add fuel to filters. You press the start button (without brake depressed) there times and the fuel pump fills the filters.

How long is that 1/2 pvc plastic tube
@fishfearus25204 күн бұрын
29" - fits to the bottom of my jug so it won't slip off with the truck on 6" high ramps

Use oem filters
@Se7enmax92 ай бұрын
You can delete the engine block filter by putting a Cat 0750 fuel filter with a Baldwin water separator at the rear and get rid of the proprietary oem crap.
