I’m just getting started with docker on aws as I teach myself how to deploy applications. I ran into the issue of dockerizing a node server, and being unable to connect it to the mongo database running on the host machine. From this video I got the idea that the best course of action is to dockerize the database too. Persisting data was my main concern before watching this. I hope I find resources that resolve this. Thank you for sharing this presentation, great information

Is the data retained when you restart the data volume container?

you can add vloumes which persist data. I have containers which not only has mysql installed but also my tables and mock data
