Thank you for doing this review. Liah Yoo, the creator, is awesome. She also has a KZfaq channel. Liah talks about the sunscreen in a video and says that people whose skin reacts badly to alcohol should probably avoid the sunscreen. She likes to talk about the pros and cons of her products. I think she would really appreciate your review since you do a great job of making informative videos. Liah is currently working on a mineral formula for the sunscreen.

Liah Yoo is the one that actually got me into skincare big time, her videos taught me so much on the skin barrier and ingredients, its just a shame its difficult to get her products here in the UK

I've been using the Great Barrier Relief, Matcha hemp hydrating cleanser and the Beet sheild sunscreen. Honestly they all work so amazingly well. They really made a difference in how my skin looks amd feels. And I know my skin especially likes krave products when its sensitive/breaking out. The suncreen is my favourite suncreen. Many other sunscreens especially physical ones made me break out. But this sunscreen is very loved by my skin.

There was a myth busting video about mineral sunscreens. It seems mineral sunscreens also absorb UV radiation and breaks bonds....and only 10 percent of light is scattered. I would be happy to hear Dr Vs opinion about this.

Studies say that even physical sunscreen reflect only 5-10% rays and converts remaining into energy... So I don't think there is much difference, especially when you can avoid white cast for people who don't like to wear makeup for tinted spf.

Hi Dr V, firstly I want to say thank you for making this channel as you've really opened my eyes on what I've been placing on my skin. You are doing an amazing job and appreciate all your help. I have two questions, one I have combination skin, so very oily t zone and dry cheeks, should I use different products for that area? Second question is are you able to do a skincare product review for children, I am a new mum and find it so hard to know what to use on my baby. I use cetraben as mositurser from your review and it works but it would be good to get a full skincare routine for children. Thank you again! So good to see someone finally looking after us. I thought the kale-le-lu-ya would be too harsh for my skin and you confirmed it. Thank you for teaching us what is best and what to avoid for SOC. Hey Dr V. Confusion with sunscreen is with lab muffin beauty. I would watch her vid spf myths and she says physical and chemical sunscreens work similarly and more heat is absorbed with both. I think we are confused with contradicting info.

Can you comment on Lab muffins video on myths of physical and chemical sunscreens? She shows data suggesting that they both work in a similar way and only a mere 5% more heat retention with physical than chemical sunscreens. Making the physical vs chemical debate more or less moot

Dr V I love watching you. I do wish many of you would not demonize essential oils. I have used them sustainably and naturally for decades in our products. Botanicals and naturals when mixed correctly are healing to the skin and can help the skin to look flawless. Essentials have been used for centuries in manny cultures to heal the skin of burns, scars and disease as well as the body naturally. I am dark skinned and I have no wrinkles, no dark spot and I don’t have to wear any foundation or concealer. As a holistic master esthetician I have to look at the skin naturally, I can’t just write a prescription. Please be more open minded to botanicals and essential oils. I wonder too.. my sister has been using essential oils, she mixes a few drops with carrier oils or in her moisturiser, and she has transformed her skin in just a year.. I didn’t try it though as I am acne prone and also have hyperpigmentation.. but feel so tempted to try her routine.. now all this information from drs around the world perplexes me..!!

@@sonalisood1714 Well gaining information is a good thing! From people you trust. I think it is important to be aware of who is giving you the information. I have seen hundreds of thousands of clients over three decades. I’m also 54 and I have no wrinkles no dark spots and I don’t have to wear any foundation. In my videos I show my skin. I don’t use a ring light and I don’t hide. My information is from years of doing the same natural and holistic regime to clients day after day and year after year. I also have to look at the skin and heal it naturally with no pills. I would never suggest putting an essential oil on the skin without a carrier but I will never understand why some people think they are bad. Hundred of thousands of years and cultures using them to heal can’t be wrong. Information is everything. Medical and holistic can work together. I hope this helps. 🍑Lisa Peaches Skin Care

I love the Matcha Hemp cleanser - I have combination skin and it cleans but doesnt make my skin feel dry. I also use the Great Barrier Relief Cream and love the smell of the tamanu oil. It is great for repairing your barrier.

Your advice is so helpful. I don’t have skin of color, but I have a huge problem with my skin reacting to most of the things you mention as being irritating, including chemical sunscreens. Your advice also seems good good for anybody who struggles with skin inflammation

I'm from Indonesia. I'm chinese indonesian to be exact. I actually like using AHA. I just love them, because they help to exfoliate my skin so I get better penetration from other productc containing anti aging ingredients such as Tretinoin and other antioxidant. They also help to unclog my pores because of built up dead skin cell. But, you have to be careful when using Aha. Introduce them slowly, little by little. Dont splash high concentration immediately. Go from low concentration such as 5-10 %. Dr V said that most of her clients are in trouble when using Aha because they burn their skin and they forget to apply sunscreen. So make sure to amp up your sunscreen game before deciding you use Ahas.

Dr V , please recommend a physical sunscreen available in MIDDLE EAST /INDIA MARKET currently i have no sunscreen brand i can use on my face as i stopped using body shop Cerave moisturing cream and cleanser has been ordered bt mineral sunscreen awaiting the products 🤞🙇‍♀️

Dr V can use ordinary niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% in my morning routine. After double washing n using micellar cleansing water. Followed with above 10% niacin amide, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate10%. Then with my Cerva moisturising cream. Sunscreen spf 50 under brand of sun sense. Followed by my tinted consealer. Finished off with mineral pressed powder. This ok

Dr V, in life there must be balance and we need both the negative and the positive. One comment from one subscriber to your channel, does not make a dent of a difference because the majority of your subscribers, we want to learn about the brands...even if the review is unfavorable, we appreciate the knowledge (it’s not negative and it’s definitely not a waste of time). We see it as a learning experience where we are made aware of the good and the bad. There is no negative and positive in learning. And i know for a fact that you can’t please everyone and if you avoid reviewing brands because their ingredient list are not suited for skin of colour, your subscribers will keep asking you to review these same brands. I think you’re doing a fantastic job and you should continue to review the brands despite the good and the bad because we all want to be enlightened by your positive energy and the inci lists for skin of colour.

Thank you for this video, Dr. V! Can you please make video talking about whether higher percentages of chemical/physical filters is better? I’ve seen spf 50 sunscreens with 10% and other spf 50 sunscreens with 24%. I don’t understand how some can have small percentages and still be spf 50 or higher.
