It stays a police box because the chameleon circuit is broken, it's not about an update. I believe the doctor could fix it but just doesn't want to. Thank you for the reaction!

@michinneokoye4990 The Sixth Doctor once successfully attempted to fix it in "Attack of the Cybermen"(1985) only it kept constantly changing in the wrong surroundings that doesn't suit so in the end the Doctor gave up and just accepted it as a Police Box.

I absolutely ADORE Ncuti’s Doctor. He has all the chaotic, frenetic energy of 11, and all the confidence and charisma of 10. Ncuti was BORN to play this role. And Millie is already easily my favorite companion since Clara. I enjoyed this ep, but my god, ep 2 is an instant classic. Looking forward to watching that reaction too!

Great observations! Thank you. Ruby is fearless! I love it. I can’t help thinking that the mystery around Ruby’s DNA either means that she’s not from Earth, not from this universe, or that she’s some sort of paradox (e.g., her own mother- Have you seen “Predestination”?).

I love the parallels in this episode with 'The End of the World' from season 1 - first trip with Rose, on a space station, humanity is wiped out and the world is about to be destroyed. Whereas in this, space station, also over a planet, and humanity thrives. Also the phone call from billions of years between is a nice throwback too!

Yes, it was by IDW who had both licences, it also featured the 4th doctor visiting The Original Series crew as part of that storyline, it also featured both Borg AND Cybermen!
