The fourth Doctor did indeed have ginger sideburns. Though not quite with the colouration on this figure

The signs slightly match the prop. The traveling tardis had alternating colors on the top signs. In Ark in space, the next episodic arc after robot,we see it has one black with white letters, the other white with black letters. So both of them only having on kind for all 4 sides is actually inaccurate

Great review as always! I was very lucky to be the first person to pick one of these up from my local B&M store. Hate to be _that guy_ , but the top of the lantern is white / grey because it appeared that way on the Barry Newbery prop from 1976. Of course, it's completely inaccurate to _Robot_ , which was shown in 1974/5 !

A lovely review of a cracking set. When I got these the ladies in b&m told me that a guy had been in and picked up 3 full shipping boxes of the set, that’s 6 per box! 🤬 Thanks for the shout out guys, so glad it got there in one piece.

Only the signs on the left & right sides should be white text on a dark background. The signage is the correct colours for the front & back. It is difficult to make this out in Robot as the front sign is constantly in shadow. However, it's very noticeable in the scene where the Doctor chooses his costume. Also, the 4th Doctor's sideburns were kind of ginger. It just wasn't noticeable a lot of the time.

I love that prop because it is completely in shambles, the dirty windows, the floppy doors and walls, the rickety frame, the mismatched signs, the grime on it, the mismatched panels, and the big lantern that feels like it’s gonna fall in.

I think I might get some clay or something to cover up speaker holes and battery compartment and do a little painting

The signs are correct for the late 3rd/early 4th stories.

I was lucky enough to find one on Amazon for around £20, so pleased to finally be getting a TARDIS from Tom Baker's era.

Personally, at this point I can't forgive the battery compartment and speaker hole. This happens so frequently and I would love to see a change. As for the figure, I'm not too interested in getting Tom in an outfit he had for two minutes while lying down. Perhaps if he came in hospital clothes and robe outfit with the maybe the wire he fashioned into a jump rope as an accessory maybe? Just some ideas. But that is just my opinion, and as you said the box lends itself to easy modification. I could see where you could print out screen accurate Police Box signs and fit in black paper in the box to fix the issue with seeing through to the backside. I'm just not terribly crazy about getting this set.

The only thing I will get is the new Dalek figure from the New Years Day 2019 episode if they ever release one that is I do love the design of the new Dalek design though I hope they use that design if we ever get another episode involving the Daleks

I think that white border for the police box sign is so interesting. It really pops off the box. And from some of the production photos that was accurate sort of. In some pics it looks like the front had the white sign, but then the other sides were like blacked out. But I love the look of this set. I did purchase one from a guy not scalping on Twitter @TardisNew and thankfully they are just selling it at sticker price + shipping. And he said he'll get it in the mail tomorrow for me. Fingers crossed it arrives quick to the US. I can't wait to hold this in my hands! I love the 3rd Doctor set because, again, it's a unique looking TARDIS. So I love this blue they chose for 4th and I'll probably headswap a Pertwee onto this body and hopefully this Baker head will work on the 4th Doctor fig from 11 Doctors set.

It does match the look, the police box sign were inverted but only the front and back police box signs were the inverted colour

The white police sign background was seen in outside shots in (I think) Terror of the Zygons and the Android Invasion. It's not very noticeable and is a really odd choice. It's kinda ok in hand tho😉

The 4th Doctor TARDIS would look great to be the 1st Doctor TARDIS to do that shot where the 12th and 1st Doctor park there TARDIS next to each other.
