Those were the last scenes Bernard Cribbins filmed. They wanted to film more with him but his health was declining. So this is unfortunately the last we'll get of Wilf. We may end up with a double in the chair from the back view or something at the beginning of the next episode but as for Bernard himself. This was it. RIP Bernard Cribbins.

I liked the last episode a lot, but loved this one. As you said, it feels like a really good one off Doctor Who story. I know folks interpreted the secrecy around the episode as it being cameo ridden, but I'm really happy it wasn't. just a really good mystery episode that feels like a nice blend of Rebel Flesh and Midnight. Wish we had more time with Tennant and Donna, but honestly I get after this if Donna is just done with the Doctor, that was a lot!

Donna was introduced to the concept of regeneration prior to thr Doctor Donna in "Journey's End." Also, it's conceivable that she's able to retain some of the Doctor's memories, especially if they were very emotional or traumatic--much like we do with our own memories.

Happy to see Doctor Who doing weird spacey horror again, it's what it was most famous for and almost defined by before New Who, yet this many years into New Who it's become almost a background element so it's always good when they remember to put episodes like this in. Ultimately, it was fine but just fine. Not an all timer imo but enjoyed it more than most the last decade of the show so at least there's that. Which says a lot I suppose.

Given how short on time they were at the end one of the only things the doctor could do was pick a Donna in the moment, the copy couldn’t hold herself together reading the doctor so she would’ve revealed herself fast enough once in the tardis the doctor could just back up and kick her out like he did. I think another good way the doctor could’ve told the Donna’s apart at the end would be to say answer on 3, is wild blue yonder Jolly or a war song ? Real Donna would’ve said both and the no-thing would’ve said war because they’re still struggling with the concept of believing two things at the same time and also they’re obsessed with violence and war.

The Ponds River Clara The return of Gallifrey A new regeneration cycle Bill Missy became a good guy He almost didn't regenerate The Master returned as a Villain Gallifrey was destroyed again and its people turned into Cybermen The Doc learned they have had more than one regeneration cycle already, and had an Identity before the Time Lords existed The Doc's past came out in an ugly way and destroyed half of the universe, killing millions. Wasn't expecting your reaction to be up today. I thought it was an OK episode. I might watch it again to see if it will change my mind but seeing wilf again made me very happy.

You mentioning Ms. Marvel got me thinking. Until this I would've assumed that doing Ms. Marvel's powers the way they are in the comics wouldn't be workable or realistic enough in live action. I thought that was why they did her powers differently on her show. Now I'm left to assume they had other reasons for making her powers so different.

One thing I was hoping for was to see the creatures turn into a different version of the doctor each time they appeared. It would have been cool to see the creatures take the form of Matt smith or Peter capaldi.
