From the War Doctor audio drama, 'The Eternity Cage'. The Sontarans attempt to join the Time War by capturing the Dalek Time Strategist and Cardinal Ollistra. Suprisingly, they are successful. Enjoy this bitch fight between the potato soldier and the shade-throwing Dalek

The Strategist got bushwhacked by a member of a species it never considered to be in the same league as it. I imagine it to be gibbering as much in bewilderment as pain at that moment. Dalek Intelligence should have investigated the Vardan Incident and learned not to underestimate the Sontarans from it.

Having your Ego so utterly dashed by someone you just finished giving a verbal dressing down will do that. As an "officer" The time strategist has never had to endure grievances like pain or the inevitable shame of being tricked so effortlessly by Sontarans. More over, The general took his gun and arm attachments which is utterly humiliating for a Drone to endure much less a supreme ranked Dalek. It's a very personal insult for a Dalek to endure.

To be honest if I as a Drone Dalek were in the same position as the time strategist, also taking into account that I am 50% human yeah the human part of me would win no doubt meaning I would probably be in immense pain to much for even I to handle and end up crying slightly also do remember I am 50% human and 45% Dalek and 5% TimeLord

Maybe they actually speak in data transfer signals, but BBC or Big Finish translate it for us when there’s only Daleks onscreen?

caesar969 - because it is just as efficient as anything else. The Daleks mix the ultra-high tech with less sophisticated means.
