Doctor Who and Guardians of the Galaxy actor Karen Gillan gave a panel at Awesome Con 2023 to talk about her iconic roles, her experiences, and to answer fan questions.
Karen Gillan is Amy Pond in Doctor Who and Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and Avengers films. She is also known for roles in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Jumanji: The Next Level, Outcast, Emo Dad, Selfie, What If...?, Stacked, Oculus, A Touch of Cloth, Conventional, and many more.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good idea, but I believe Marvel actors have a clause in their contract forbidding them from appearing as other superheroes in the DC universe, and vise versa.

@@davidpo5517 I've read that but it's never backed up by anything credible, not even a direct quote. It may exist for the time they're making a Marvel movie but it's doesn't seem to exist outside of that. Michael Keaton, Idirs Elba, JK Simmons, Ryan Reynolds, Willem Dafoe, Michelle Pfeiffer, Zach Levi and many others prove that clause doesn't exist outside of a contract. So as long as Karen isn't making another Marvel movie (Guardians is done, Avengers is unknown), she's free to do as she pleases. Even if it does happen, it won't be for a long while anyway given everything going on.

@@Elwaves2925 True, but you're not going to get a direct quote for something like that unfortunately. Contracts like that also have a confidentiality clause, meaning if you did purposefully quote from your contract or state exactly what was in it, you could be sued for breach of contract.

@@davidpo5517 Oh I know we won't get a direct quote but without credible evidence to back it up (whatever form it takes), I'm not going to believe what a website claims. The one article I remember on it was from Screen Rant, who claimed that Chris Hemsworth said it. So if he did say it, they coud accurately quote him, yet there was no quote. With nothing to back it up, it's highly likely they made it up, especially as there is proof/credible evidence that goes against that claim. 🙂

It doesn't exist, if it did how would you explain Michael Keaton being in The Flash and the Spiderman films?. Currently there's over 50 actors who've appeared in both franchises.

Loved her in Doctor Who, Selfie was great. Haven`t watched a Marvel movie. But I`m so happy for her that she made such a big career. Feels like just the right amount. Probably makes decent money with her movies, gets attention, but not too crazy much that she`s constantly hunted by paparazzi.

Im so happy karen made it in america, after selfie did badly it seemed like she was going to have to return home but wow has she turned that around and despite her uncoordination she has really made a name for herself as an action heroine in guardians, jumanji and now gunpowder milkshake which i believe is getting a sequel, she does the cold stare so well she is perfect for action films. I hope she does more of them.

It always sucks when the moderator spends most of the time chatting that the fans can't get to ask their questions. He even said it was standing room only. I can imagine how maby people where left wanting to ask a question.

They're never going to get to everyone you can't expect him to say nothing he's asking questions people already have it saves time alot of people just ask the same boring questions over and over anyway.

I was a bit upset at the first GotG movie. I wondered why they had KG in such a minor role. Obviously, I felt very different after vol 2 and 3 where she really gets to show her strengths.

This interviewer is terrible. There are so many openings for him to have an interactive conversation with her, and instead he leaves her answers with an awkward ending and then just goes to an entirely different question that doesn't tie in at all with the previous question. She is so charismatic and gives him so much material to work with, and he doesn't.....
