Legendary actor John Hurt famously portrayed the long-forgotten incarnation of the Doctor who fought in the hellish era of conflict known as the Time War. For many fans, we've only seen a glimpse of that great cosmos-sized battle in the 50th Anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, but luckily our good fellows at Big Finish have recently given us some amazing adventures involving the Time War and its most versatile warrior, the War Doctor. If there was ever a title sequence for John Hurt's Doctor, it would probably look a bit like this.

I knew him, he used to play dominos at the honeybell pub near my grandparents, I sat on his lap as a baby and he would come to their Christmas parties, he was nice.

The world lost a legend when John Hurt passed. I would so love to have seen/heard more of the War Doctor, but perhaps it is best to leave that chapter of The Doctor's life shrouded in a bit of mystery, isn't it? God bless John Hurt. He is missed. Nice work on the title sequence.

Everyone is talking about the War Doctor, the War Master and the Time Lords vs the Dalek race but no one is talking about that faint and hardly perceptible stressed noise that the Tardis makes at 0:47 because to me it sounds like she REALLY don’t want to be fighting in the Time War and yet she still ends up battle scarred for the Doctor. Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is true love and loyalty. Edit: my favorite part will always be 0:35

Adam Walker he was truly a gifted and talented man who shall be missed. He had a long and very distinguished career that showcased his talent to exceptional degrees, and the capstone to such a career being able to play The Doctor, amazing. His voice is so perfect for audio, it is a real shame he died, as I'm sure he would have done much more with Big Finish. But the fact that we have audios that have him in the role of War Doctor at all is a victory in and of itself.

I've seen a lot of fan-made War Doctor intros. This one is easily the best I've seen. It really matches exactly what you'd picture from both the Big Finish theme and sidebar image of the War Doctor. Really well made.

Jacob Spicer they could technically use a younger actor because in the night of the doctor, the war doctor was regenerated young, not old. so it could potentially work out.

Amazing work! The visuals are absolutely stunning. I love how the logo burts into flames as it approaches the camera... Like a metaphor for how the War doctor isn't the "Doctor" so to say. My only real gripe is the image of John Hurt... It feels a little "Static" and could have benefited with a more blended in appearance or less time on screen. Even replaced with a dramatic video pose of John Hurt moving. Overall great job!! :)

I wouldn't be entirely opposed to War Doctor seasons but it would be a very different kind of show. The Doctor would be killing people, his companions would be soldiers. It probably wouldn't be as idealistic as standard Doctor Who and the Doctor would of course act very, very different. The budget for the show would also have to go up drastically to adequately show an all out war and that might be difficult. Because if you can't show an all out war, you shouldn't bother making the season at all otherwise you will devalue the intensity of the Time War. And John Hurt passing away makes things more difficult but I'm positive you could get another actor to play a younger version of the character.
