We've had so many brilliant Masters over the years (both on TV and audio), but who is your favourite and why??
@jellybabiesarecool46572 жыл бұрын
Delgado or Jacobi. Both extremely sinister and with both of them we tend to see their side of the story more and how they go about their evil schemes. Both very cunning.
@sebastien-loikntsangou-kan52642 жыл бұрын
Either the War Master or Missy. Jacobi's Master just has a gentle yet threatening ferociousity that makes him such a compelling character. Gomez's Missy is playful and fun but in such a mischievous way.
@redacted9532 жыл бұрын
Missy, she was threatening and unpredictable but near the end of her run she became more likely to do good, even if it was her idea of good

With the exception of Paul McGann getting at least 1 television season as The Doctor, I feel that the biggest "what if" missed opportunity Doctor Who will ever have was Capaldi not getting a 4th season as The Doctor with Missy as his companion (along with Bill and Nardole). That to me would have been the ultimate TARDIS team as you would have the tragic hero (Capaldi knowing it's his final season), the romantic foil (Missy trying to be The Doctor's friend and good), the exposition/straight man (Bill), and the likable comic relief (Nardole). Oh, and while some people don't consider her a Companion, I do and feel she's in the Top 5 Modern Era Doctor Who Companions.

@@jessetorres8738 your ideas are interesting, especially considering what came after the departure of Moffat......But I think throughout the history of the tv show, there was biggest missed opportunities like McCoy and Colin Baker not having at least two more seasons, or Ace not coming back in tsja in series 5 because of Sladen's death

Despite some of their flaws, I think the character that has never screwed up on TV, book and audio was The Master. Every single time they always get him right

@@Squicx But Jodie plays well too ... she's really trying to do her best to keep the show going. The script destroys all interest, and sometimes the Doctor Who universe itself.

Well... Simm is the only Master who was bad. Not because of the actor, because of the script. In Moffat era Simm was brilliant, but in RTD... The Drums in the Master head is not for him. It makes him crazy, but Master is not crazy. He is just a idiot, who want take over the universe, but not crazy. And this whole thing with drums in the Master head makes all of them crazy, but they don't. Drums in the Master head probably the only bad idea from RTD.

He was once a mob boss. I don't know which version well actually do. It was a version of the thirteenth Master but that's like half of the masters through the body's natching But Apparently at some point he just spent some time in the mob That's my one of my 2 favorite facts. The other one is that the doctor is technically. Jack The ripper Please ask me about that one

Rodger Delgado's Master, he set the template. A gentleman villain. Also Derek Jacobis War Master, in my opinion the most dangerous Master. He was everything Delgado's Master was but dialed up to 11. And Missy, the Master that finally decided to change. To reunite and stand with their oldest friend.

I have this theory (my personal canon) that Missy was pregnant with the Doctor's child during Series 10. If you're a hardcore fan you'll know that the time lords can't reproduce naturally because of Pythia's curse, but since the Doctor isn't actually a time lord, Pythia's curse wouldn't apply to him/her. Missy thought being pregnant with the Doctor's child was a miracle, and that made her temporarily turn good. When Simm's Master shot her, he killed the child instead of killing her, so Missy regenerated and went to Gallifrey to find out how the Doctor could've gotten her pregnant, and when he found out that the Doctor wasn't really a time lord, Sacha's Master went crazy.
@adamfreddo57032 жыл бұрын
What's weird is that "it's as if I'm doing what I'm meant to be doing" scene felt like it was a direct answer to Missy.... But it's never followed up with at all. Incredibly disappointing in the long run.
@linustwizell79132 жыл бұрын
I always think of Missy as being a light mirror to the War Doctor. The incarnation who could do the things that the others couldn't but ultimately returned to their fundamental type in the fires of regeneration.
