Eric Roberts Master is getting his own series with big finish

Would love commentarys to become a thing on the channel. Maybe death to the daleks next ? I haven't reached the tv movie in my classic martharon rewatch yet currently on The sontaran experiment.

It's weird, cause in the last year I suddenly have a new found appreciation for this film. As a TV Pilot it is terrible, but as someone born in 2001, so would have only seen this in hindsight, i can appreciate it a lot more. Also Paul McGann and the soundtrack are great!

After lockdown Matt and Billy need to do a Doctor Who story playing the Doctor and the Master. They may think it's a terrible idea. But let's bombard them so they do it.

I think The Eighth Doctor is half human because they attempted to give him human blood while he was on the operating table, and it was still in his system when he regenerated. The TARDIS is linked to him, and updated the lock on the Eye of Harmony so that human or Timelord eyes can open it. He thinks his mother is human because of his amnesia, and possibly inheriting memories from the blood he was given.

I can’t believe you’re both from Bristol, all the same experiences and “Dr Who’ie” stuff is so nostalgic, love to have a good drink and share experiences of who in the hometown!

Maybe the eighth doctor's body simply has human structure eyes instead of the usual time lord ones. As seen throughout the show the Doctor's regenerations can be influenced by the people he meets. Example would be the 12th Doctor's body taking on the form of the marble merchant from Fires of Pompeii and the 6th Doctor's body's influenced be Maxell from Arc of Infinity. The Doctor spends so much time on earth it would make sense if he picks up traits like the human eyes. Maybe 12th had human eyes to since his body is based off another human. It's the Master who says the Doctor is half human, he could easily be wrong and the Doctor saying he gets it from his mother's side is a line to throw off the professor at the Clock Launch. That's my theory on the situation. :)

The Eric Roberts Master comes after Ainleys Master, and before Macqueen's/Jacobi's Master. Interestingly though, he's concurrent with the Geoffrey Beevers Master, because if the body the Master is possessing ever gets too badly damaged, or he stays in it too long, it always reverts back to the crispy Beevers incarnation. It would have been interesting to have seen Eric Roberts face gradually get more and more decayed as the movie went on, but its almost... poetic that the expanded universe has adapted this idea into the continuity. What do you mean "became canon"? It's always been canon. With Sylvester, how can it not be? Big Finish became canon at the 50th. "Ooooh, lovely box!" needs to be on a tee right now! 😂
