Missed you all last week. I hope you enjoy this video of a gruesome 26hr shift thanks to daylight savings time change -_- I saw the clock go from 1:59....to 1:00....it hurt.

Hi Rachel! I just wanted to come on and say thank you for what you do. I’ve been subbed since your first medical school video, and seeing you power through the monster that is medical school and always stay positive always helped me stay motivated. Now I’ve been accepted into medical school, and I owe some of that to you. Keep doing what you are doing doc!!!

I remember doing nights in long term care, always so cold in the morning once the shift is done, get to go home and fall asleep!! I just thought of that when you went, “just finished the shift, oooh so cold”, I remember those mornings driving home. That 3am temperature drop with circadian rhythm ain’t no lie lol.

Will I have time to work PRN in the hospital in medical school? Would I be able to work all 4 years of medical school? What about the first 2? I think I want to chase doctor, I'm almost an RN. I would need to do my BSN (1-2 years) plus 1 year of missing credits.

I’ve certainly seen a handful of people work in Med school so it isn’t impossible. However in my experience, there was absolutely no time to work. Whatever free time I had, I wanted to be doing something of my own interest or resting so I personally wouldn’t recommend it. But you can always just go through 1st year without working and if you feel it was manageable, then look for work for second year just keep in mind, you may want to get involved with research and extracurricular activities both for your personal interest and for your residency application. 3rd year, your clinical duties are full time job but you still have to study so I wouldn’t recommend a job. I’m only a third year now so can’t speak on 4th year. Hope you figure out what works for you!

I was gonna say, Rachel... no video last week, you okay, what's wrong?! Love hearing and seeing the confidence of you doing all the things you're doing... yes, even all the mouse clicking!!! LOL! I'm still jealous of your car, mine has a sun roof, yours has a... window roof!!! Keep rocking it girl, and bring all the new babies into the world! Cant wait for next weeks video! 😁Question, what would you say to a someone (buddy of mine) just starting out in Med school, they're pretty confident and definitely have that "go get 'em" attitude, but seeing your journey, I can imagine you are... humbled pretty quickly?

In the first few years, expect hard work. In other countries, they work sometimes up to 3 days straight except very few hours. But then you will reap off the benefits. You're still young and you have tens of years ahead of you God willing. So just be patient and good luck.

You're mentally unstable. It's not just emotions. No one stable cries that much. Get offline and get help. You are not well and thats ok. Put the camera down and deal with real life. Your real life is far more important than the online version. Not everything should be for views and there are young people watching. LEt's not normalize being unstable. I'm sure you will cry next week. It's a sickness at this point. A need for attention as well. Seek help.@@RachelSouthard
