Donna is the best companion in terms of making the doctor a better person.

They should've kept this in. It gives a real sense that Donna and the Doctor were a very good duo. It shows that Donna, while being a bit stressy, she can be loving, caring.

Seeing as Jenny was never in the show again, I prefer this ending.

While I agree with the cutting of this scene, it's still a *really* good scene. Most of the cut scenes are really good for Series 4, but I also fully get why they were cut.

We'd better finally get to meet a regenerated Jenny in season 13. It's been too long for The Doctor to NOT have heard something. Even the Timelords should've known about her by the time Cappelli's Doctor arrived back on Gallifrey and given him some kind of message about a random Timelord running around the Universe. Henny doesn't have a TARDIS, so she's still in the same year she was left in. Honestly, if not for the Timeless Child scenario, they could've easily made the reveal the Ruth was Jenny.

My memory has failed me, I forgot this scene wasn't actually in the episode lol. It's such a good scene tho. Great edit!

This scene could very well have been between the moment the Doctor and Martha said goodbye, but before Jenny woke up.

Jenny comes back in Big Finish and the way I see it giving Big Finish more to play with is in and of itself a good thing.

Doctor's Daughter is one of my favourite episodes and I think it's one of David Tennant's best. Good alternate ending. Donna consoles The Doctor and helps him overcome Jenny's death.

I prefer this ending myself.

I think having Jenny stay dead, and including this scene (as lovely as it is) would have made for a rather depressing Doctor Who episode!

Fun fact: in this episode when the camera pans out and then the credits roll if you look to the left you’ll see a big light(which is the thing that’s making the time rotar light up)

Will doctor family bloodlines continue with Susan and jenny ?

Her also coming back to life, because she's part timelord, never really made sense either. She should have immediately started the process once shot & changed faces. She gets shot, dies for an extended period, then just pops back up as the same person. I get we want to use a real life Doctor's Daughter & Wife in the show, & now Big Finish audio series too, but it just always confused me in terms of timelord regeneration.

I wouldn't rule out a return of Jenny. Not in doctor who world! Haha but it's a good alternate ending. 👍

Here's Part of a Doctor who Story I've written and please let me know if you like it Doctor who The lost Daughter helps: Jenny was running as fast as she Possibly could, but the odds were stacked against her. The Cyberman Inquisitor General was walking at a slow speed, with it's sliver gun stretching out of it's arm. Jenny held a bomb in her left and threatened 'If you don't stop right there, I'll blow You up with this'. The Cyberman stopped and said 'YOU ARE LIYING TOO DISTRACT ME FROM KILLING YOU. THIS IS THE NATURAL RESPONSE BECAUSE OF YOUR BRAIN ACTIVITY'. Jenny Smirked at it and smiled defiantly before saying. 'Except, I'm not human and if this is fake, than you won't feel anything when a throw it, LIKE THIS'. Jenny threw the bomb at the Cyberman and it seemed completely unaffected at first. Then the bomb detonated and killed the Cyberman, in a flash, and the remain splattered in both directions of the corridor, in a blaze of fire and shrapnel. Jenny ran out of the temple as fast as she could, avoided the traps, and taking out any guards with her Kung Fu capabilities and talents. When Jenny was finally at the temple's exit, what she saw were of the humans averaged about the door, no closer than ten meters away. All of them were chanting THANKYOU THANK YOU. At first Jenny fought they were all thanking her for saving their people, but what she actually saw and noticed, at the centre of the crowd was that all of them staring at a Woman in the centre, wearing a long gray coat. She didn't look like a soldier at all. Her blue trousers finished half way up her knees and she had short blonde hair. Jenny could almost feel free a connection between her and this strange woman, but she could not tell why. 'Sorry. Do excuse my rude manners but shouldn't I be thanked for saving them'. The woman turned around and her heart skipped a beat. Her big, dark eyes widened and her mouth fell open. Jenny was shocked and asked. 'What is wrong? Have I got something on my face or was I spoiling anything?' The woman stepped forwards towards Jenny and she could not believe who it was, she was seeing. 'It's you Jenny' exclaimed the Woman. Jenny was confused at what she had said, because she did not recognize the woman or remember her from anywhere but she could still remember her father way back on Planet Messaline Just before she stole her Spaceship and started flying away to exploring the universe. Too save planets and civilizations like her farther did. She had lost count of the number of adventures she had had, running into danger hopping to see the doctor again, or that he would turn up to help her out, every time and had Given up hope. The Doctor snapped out of her state of shock, as the crowd because quite and talk quickly died down at what was going on. 'Are you really the Doctor'? Asked Jenny. The Doctor looked down at her body and back up again towards Jenny. ' I'm the Doctor and Yeah I may have Regenerated 2 or 3 times since we last met and now I am a woman but I'm still me'. Jenny touched the Doctor's face to make sure she wasn't hallucinating or dreaming but the Doctor, much to her realization and relief was real. Jenny was so thrilled to see her, and the two hugged eachother with all their might and with tears starting to stream down their cheeks. The Doctor was happy with tears because she was reunited with her daughter who she fought was dead thousands of years ago. Jenny was crying because she had finally found the one person she had spent What felt like several life times looking and searching for, hoping to see again, but now she would have to get use to calling her mother. Jenny's tears dropped onto the Doctor's blue, rainbow striped top, But they were too excited to and relieved to even care or notice. The crowd was shouting and screaming with joy and happiness. 'Wait so you're the one who's been helping me all along,? Asked Jenny, remembering 'the other' she had heard heard rumors about all around the planet since she had arrived here. 'Yeah, except these people are a bit thick at explaining who's who, but don't tell theme I said that'. Jenny said 'Oh no, course not, mother, Wait doesn't this mean that I will have too call you Mother'? Jenny asked the Doctor. 'Yeah that does sound very weird because I've never been a Mother before but I have been a grandfather for 50 Years way, way back on Galifray'. The Doctor wiped her tears away from her eyes and asked her 'Would you like to travel with me, because I will all ways make sure you're save, and I wish I hadn't left without checking if you were dead or not'. Jenny reminded the Doctor 'I think you should be happy, because in my travels across the Galaxy and maybe in others, I have not seen many cases of friends never been reunited like this and saving the Universe is not a not a very easy job'. The Doctor smiled at how wise her daughter was. Jenny was about to say something else but Jonathan and Yasmin appeared from behind Jenny and asked, 'So what's going on, Doctor, and who is she?' Jenny turned around to see Jonathan Grindell and Yasmin Khan, looking completely oblivious to what was happening between the two Time lords. ' I'm Jenny the.....EM, Doctor should I tell them or do you want too?' ' This is Jenny, my....Well, technically she is, but what I mean by that is that she was created from a DNA extraction machine, Which took some of my DNA from a tissue sample from my hand and created her. Jenny smiled and stepped forward towards Jonathan Grindell and Yasmin and explained, 'I was created as a solder from her DNA and I was only meant to fight and kill, but now I've been saving planets and civilizations like my mother does now'. Jonathan looked very confused by this and asked, 'But I don't understand? If she is your daughter, then why didn't you tell us anything about her before?' The Doctors expression changed from very happy to very sad. 'Because after I used a Device called the Source to end the war Between the human and the Hath and make the Planet habitable, she got shot by the Human general and there was nothing I could do. She died in my hands and I thought I lost her forever, so I left in the TARDIS and I didn't know she was alive until now.' The Doctor looked down at her boots on the sandy, dry surface to hide her tears from everyone else. closer to the Doctor and assured her, 'It's all right. I've had years of experience and knowledge of these times and I had the same reaction to my Dad when he had to Go to work, when I was 9 so don't worry'. She looked at Jonathan and wiped the tears away from her eyes and smiled at Jonathan 'Thanks for all of your help. I'm glad I took you with me as part of the Fam'. The Doctor walked back up to Jenny and patted her shoulder, before saying, I've got something I want too show you Jenny and You're going to love this. Come on its this way'. General Nelma came came up to the Doctor and Jenny and greeted them with a thankful welcome, and he asked, 'Will you not stay and celebrate with me and the others? We will reward you well tonight'. Na I'm bad and bit terrible at cleaning up, even when I do save places. And I've got my daughter from long ago to enjoy with, any ways'. The Doctor and Jenny walked in the direction of the TARDIS, and it was still there, in the exact same spot where the Doctor had parked it two days back. Jonathan came up from behind them both, and asked Jenny, 'So how long have you been doing what the doctor does?' 'Oh, Hem, about 525 Years because from what I can deduce, a Human can live up to 75years on average and 75 times 7= 525 so that's how long'. ' I've never encountered a TARDIS before, but I have heard rumors about them being bigger on the inside so, is that Were are you taking me'? The Doctor stop, sharply and answered 'Yes Jenny and it has changed so much since I last saw you' 'Well anything new can range from really good to really bad' said Jenny. I hope you enjoy it❤ This story takes place (In a alternative Timeline) between the Episode Eve of the Daleks and legend of the Sea Devils. And fought me being one of the main characters would be something new I tried out.

While I agree Donna is fab, Clara is by far my favorite and Donna and Rose are my closely second favorite companions... I can't just choose one of them.. :'( I miss them all. I hope at least some of the revival companions (9th to 12th) return at some point... Rose is kinda possible maybe... Idk. Amy and Rory, could easily get visited or appear in a certain time frame. Clara could somehow appear (don't forget, she went into the doctors timeline so she should have appeared at some other point of his/her life). Martha is entirely possible along with Mickey... Donna is the only one i feel that has a definite reason to not appear again.

Will jenny have any kids ?

Bit of an over-dramatic ending tbh. I just wasn't convinced by Jenny as a character, I suppose.
