There are around 40 trillion bacteria in your body, most of which are found in your gut.
Collectively, they are known as your gut microbiome, and they’re incredibly important for overall health. However, certain types of bacteria in your intestines can also contribute to many diseases.
Many factors, including the foods you eat, can impact the type of bacteria found in your digestive tract.

It would be nice if you have something like gastroparesis if the dr could help u instead of labeling u difficult patient because Miralax and Lactulose won’t work. I’ve been to 2 three GIs and all have treated me terribly. I have a massive amount Of weight but because I began obese no one will believe me. I had one even laugh at me when I asked for help with a special diet. “Yeah like you’d stay on that.” I’ve asked to be checked for SIBO, IMO, and NCGS. I was told no because they can just look at me and tell I don’t have them. So why exactly do u want to an endoscopy if you aren’t going to check me for anything?

That's ridiculous. In Ayurveda, the science of longevity, the first things doctors do is check your food. Your food is your energy. It's what your body breaks down, it's what you become. It's unbelievable how doctors in the west can't see that.

@@tradingnewbs3347 I haven't made any big research about gut health specifically and I don't take any personal care of it. I used to feel bloated but now, I'm eating less and this has helped A LOT! I don't feel bloated anymore! If I wanted to make research on that one, I would trust the keto/carnivore advocates (except for those who sell something, lol) and any low-carb/high-fat diet advocate. If doctors (and people who individually tried it out and said it helped) saying that fiber helps, then that's fine as well! The problem with fiber is that getting too much (which is a different amount for everyone) would make your life in the toilet... not a happy experience (and I'm talking from personal experience on that one and it was very annoying). Food that contain fiber also contain a significant amount of carbs so I also personally try to avoid them.

You have to incorporate small amounts because anyone will get bloated quickly right away do to the fact that your gut has no good bacteria to break it down all of it since you never eat them. For my advice I would say start by eating a little bit in the morning for a week, then the following week add to lunch just a little more. This is how I started and I don’t get bloated or gassy after eating now.

The thing is, leaky gut is caused by the gluten in the grains, and cultures that were carnivore (no fiber) also had no leaky gut and were incredibly healthy. I’m not so sure that fiber (a type of carbohydrate) is actually required (there’s no conclusive evidence), but I’d recommend getting it with vegetables, and avoiding grain altogether. Grains are a recent development, on the evolutionary scale. The entire idea of fiber “brushing out” the intestines sounds nearly as bogus as the “fat is bad” concept, since both pretend that your digestive tract is similar to a drain pipe. That’s a serious oversimplification.
@kayleeloomer

I agree. If we can’t digest fiber than there’s no reason it should be necessary. It’s like eat plastic, it goes right through us. And the reason the lining is formed in our gut is a defense mechanism against inflammatory plant toxins and fiber. If we’re not consuming inflammatory foods then we don’t need that protective lining

Bloating is one thing, but gas is supposed to happen. It's as natural as pooping. Bloating is gas that is not moving through your digestive system due to blockages. Those blockages occur for a number of reasons, and one of them is you not having the right gut bacteria to digest the food you ate. But that doesn't mean a serving of fruits and veggies that makes you bloat are bad for you... It means you're not eating enough of them. Increase intake, and you get the longevity benefits of a plant based diet, plus you can still eat meat.

Diversity is KEY
@limitisillusion7
@limitisillusion7 Жыл бұрын
I like to blame all of humanity's ills on a lack of diversity. You are what you eat, but that includes both your nutrition and information diet. The effects of allowing censorship and manipulation in the media to rule our perceptions are not unlike the effects of the food industry that is overprocessing all of the food we eat. In both cases, "what we eat" is being *censored* or *processed* in a sense. This is diminishing the diversity of thought which is akin to diminishing the diversity of our gut microbiome. Oddly enough, our thoughts kind of control what we choose to eat. So if our thoughts about what foods we should eat are being manipulated into restrictive diets like carnivore, keto, vegan, or the standard American diet, we diminish the diversity of our gut microbiome by diminishing our diversity of thought. Then a vicious cycle starts where our gut microbiome doesn't let us think clearly enough to dismiss that bad diet advice. F*** me. How do we fix this?

Low-sugar fermented foods are likely more effective at optimizing gut health and increasing microbe diversity. In a western diet, often the microbiome already lacks diversity to the point where fiber can’t even properly make it to the bacteria that we want to thrive. Combining fiber with fermented foods seems to be the best way to optimize gut health. the Huberman lab episode with dr sonnenburg discusses a study that shows the positive effects of low sugar fermented foods

I get maybe only 1-2 stomach aches a year. How? I believe more than anything it's because I've eaten a pan of boiled lentils multiple days a week for years now. I believe my gut biome is fantastic because of lentils. I also never get constipation or anything else.

I have bulimia and today and we’ll the past five years I haven’t treated my gut well. Well I’m sick of being stuck and honestly ready to cleanse and get better. I’ve tried and failed many times but I find I start stressing because my gut just extends drastically and cramps majorly when I start eating “normally”. May I ask, how can I fix this? I have a therapist whose helping on the psychological side of things but psychologically what do you recommend. Obviously this is just a brief overview and I don’t expect miracles in one comment. But any advice would be maaajorky appreciated :)

This may be mostly incorrect , it seems that many cannot tolerate fibre at all . And many others have many issues with it . And carnivore eaters would say it's not necessary at all !!!!!

I have tried all methods. Included lots of fibre, quit dairy, included probiotic but nothing helped. I think in my case its more about mental health being stressed all day and with o physical activity i damaged my gut.😢

Don’t fast if you are underweight! You should follow a carnivore elimination diet to heal your gut. For years I’ve dealt with IBS constipation and extreme bloating and no matter what I did it never went away. Carnivore is what helped it, and I have never felt this good in my life! No negative side effects :)!
