Its a country with a long tradition of equestrian sport, and a good breeding ground for top class horses and riders. No surprise then, that one of the most successful sport - and trading stables - Ashford FARM - is located exactly here in the northern part of Belgium. Since the company was funded a few years ago, the results in the sport has been amazing and the company has been trough a tremendous development. Today more than 100 horses are sold every year. And trading top quality showjumpers is truly what runs the main business today.

It's February 2021. Really nice video. Your facility is really huge .. It's absolutely incredibly kept and highly maintained.. All the people that are interviewed are lovely. When the business manager talks of every one being of a helping team member and all in one accord, well that is exactly what I felt throughout your whole video presentation. Every one seems incredible relaxed and comfortable with the relationship of everyone involved. It seems everyone looks out for everyone and the owner is wonderful with an interest in all who ride there . The horses are amazingly beautiful and are impeccably well cared for. The temperament and attitude of both horse and rider is awesomely relaxed and pleasurable to watch . You folks are in a class of perfection all by yourself. From business to horse and individual. Thank you.

Several questions on horses: I know horses are heard animals, but do they like people? I'm sure they loved being groomed, but due they enjoy being petted? Do they like, or are even conscious, of having their heads scratched? I know these questions sound juvenile, but I really wonder.

+Kenneth N. Shortlidge they are born into the human world. they like people if people treat them correctly. horses can connect to a human. when you pet a horse on the neck it reminds him of what his mom does when their born thats what i heard

I have had horses my whole life. Once the horse gets to know you it is common for then ro neigh or nikker a greeting to you not just at feeding time but whenever they spot you. Once they have had enough to eat they also seem to just like to hang out nearby if you go in the pasture with them. Aside from a couple of exeptions I have seen who just have attitude they like to be petted and groomed. If you catch a really talgled spot sometimes they threaten to bite or kick but for the most part the appreciate the attention (all the more if you happen to fibd an itchy spot)

my horse that I've had for over 6 years tried to kick me when i was stretching him yesterday. i could tell he immediately felt bad and turned to me and shoved his face in my arms, i knew he was just extremely sore in his back, so i just got out of the way and didn't reprimand him, but i do believe that they gain a connection with their owner, my boy loves to be scratched everywhere and often times cuddles with me.

Dang you don't know anything about horses.. o_o Yes, horses love people-- people who treat them right. They can feel emotions, you know. Of course they enjoy being pet! What animal doesnt? OF COURSE THEY'RE CONCIOUS. Do you think horses are souless beings with no feelings or nerves? They actually have alot more nerves than humans do, which means you have to be gentle with them, no matter how "tough" they may seem. I could go on for days talking about everything about horses... but ill leave it there..

+Leo Montes I don't know that. Yes, there are places that treat the horse as nothing but a piece of sporting equipment, but there are also some who do treat them as partners. I don't know how this places treats them. I do not assume.

+Leo Montes When they retire they will probably use them for breeding or sell them to private owners ( for schooling horses maybe) as they retire pretty young. Champions and thoroughbreds such as these are worth a lot of money in breeding rights.

Not rollkur. I've been riding for over 11 years hunters, jumpers, and dressage. This BTV, behind the vertical. Rollkur is when the horse's face is right up against its neck or chest. This horse is also stretching down a bit, not really in a dressage frame which makes it easier for it to look like it is in rollkur because a lower headset can slip BTV more often than if the poll is higher.

just because a horse is slightly behind the bit does not immediately mean rollkur. the rider is not hyperflexing

I do like the idea of working with animals together, but sadly humans only work with animals, if they can make money with them as in your case, with the horse sport. But horses are not made for doing such a sport. Their joints are not made for doing such high jumps and all those unnatural moves you make them do. Beside the fact that their backbone is not supposed to carry a weight with 80 kg or even higher for longer than 15 minutes per day without damaging their vertebras and causing them bad back pains. Horse sport is sadly a way to torture them, not a blessing, even though riders do believe, they do those animals a favor with it. In the nature they don't jump like that, they run but not more. Why can't you damn humans just find a social way to raise up animals and work with them without making them sick or using them for profit??? It are animals god damn, no clowns for your entertainment. Riding is something beautiful but for ppl with a low weight and those who don't sit onto the horses for hours long or all day long. The most ppl are way too heavy for riding horses and way too fat.
