This is why my dad keep saying "You don't know Tibet and Dalai Lama! Dalai Lama is one of evil guy who use religion to be a king and want people to serve him. There is no buddhism in Dalai Lama." I started having my doubt when accidentally watching Dalai Lama say profanity while "preaching" about peace in heart..i was like WTF...

Today Tibet is prosperous and Tibetan people are living a dignified life, thanks to China. Here I'm a Napalese, speaking about Tibetan people's misery in the past, we've a very close acquaintance with Tibetan people historically and culturally_Before Tibet was liberated and reunited with China, the dalai lamas, predecessors of current dalai lama even persuaded the serfs (Tibetan people) to eat 'herbal medicine' that was made from his dehydrated feces turned into pills look alike. The serfs then were made to believe it in a true sense that they were indeed medicines. That is how horrible was the situation of Tibetan people in those days._

Before the communists liberated Tibet, Thangka were made from young girl's skin. The monks treated farmers like slaves, there are thousands of documents recorded the atrocity of the Tibetan monks. Dalai Lama's Tibet is an extremely inhuman world. Every time they performed rituals, they will need lots of human bones, blood, skin, intestines, heads. I'm not sure about freeing Tibet is actually good for the low-class Tibetans. I don't agree with Communism but to certain places, Communism is actually a very good thing.

The best way to find out truth is visiting Tibet and talking with local normal people, but only depending on the countless reports. As a mahasiddhas or a practitioner, the one such as Dalai Lama should not put too much emphasis on politics rather than on spiritual side. Modest and compassion should always be the greatest characters for human beings.

My uncle was 4 when fleeing Tibet and my grandfather was in his 40's. Tibet didn't have 90% of its population as slaves as China likes to portray to strengthen its grip on Tibet. In the average Tibetan family of 3 children, one would take care of the family business, one would work in the government and the other would be a monk. And since not every family had 3 children, the monk population in Tibet was around 30%. This alone is enough to debunk this 90% serfs and slaves propaganda already but let's keep going. The population of Tibetans working in the government was around 15-20% and around 20% of Tibetans looked after their family's business. This leaves the other 30% of Tibetans who were parents who lived the rest of their days happily in their hometowns farming or being taken care of. There's no chance Tibet ever had slaves. Tibet for most of it's history had been a Buddhist nation and in Buddhism, we believe everyone is born equally and everyone human being has the capability to reach enlightenment so ill-treatment was out of the picture. Also, just to point out, unlike in Tibet, many other nations in Asia, Europe, etc. used slaves.

If you ask the Tibetans in Tibet, they would probabally say, that theyre so happy to be chinese. But they arent. They have to say this, because of the chinese government. The chinese government tortures them, if they say the truth. You have to go to India and ask their the tibetans. I read a book about Tibet. I must say: Im shocked about that, what the chinese have done in Tibet

Germany-based Zambon press has published TWO BOOKS from *Luxembourg scholar ALBERT ETTINGER* about *TIBET - "Free Tibet? State, society, and ideology in the real existing Lamaism"* in September 2014 and *"Fight for Tibet: history, background and perspectives on an international conflict"* in March, which have been well received in countries like Germany and Switzerland. In an exclusive interview on last Sunday, Ettinger said his books aim to show readers the real Tibet. I do hope these two books may be published in ENGLISH language one day instead of just German language currently.

The Tibetan life before China annexed Tibet was not perfect. Nor was life in Poland before 1939 perfect. However this does not excuse the terror of the Chinese Communists towards the Tibetan people just as the imperfections of Poland did not excuse the actions of Adolf Hitler in Poland. What is terrible about this documentary is belief that the Tibetan population deserve to be oppressed because the Tibetans lived the life they lived. Did the Polish people deserve to be terrorised because there were rich landlords in Poland? This is nonsense. I totally disagree with Buddhism but no Buddhists should be killed because of their views. As a youth I knew a Tibetan Buddhist Lhama. I would not want him persecuted and imprisoned. Fortunately he lived in India and not in Chinese controlled Tibet. Hong Kong has been oppressed by the Communist government and so have the Uigers. One set of my grand parents were not allowed to speak their own language when they were at School. Every other child spoke the same forbidden language. They suffered re - education. Things changed after they died and now every child is taught their language in school. Their is now a TV channel, Radio stations, and newspapers in the language. All road signs are in the language and all state laws too. How things can change. Now everyone lives in peace and now no one is afraid of any one else. China should learn the same lesson. Peace can never be forced at gunpoint. Peace and good will to all people, Tibetan, Uiger, Manchu, and Han Chinese. God loves everybody.

To be honest about Poland, it is not the innocent country where many are led to believe. Russia , Prussia and Ukraine were once targets of Polish aggression. It had terrorize its neighbors during the height of its power , before being ass-kicked and temporarily erased from the map. Unfortunately, geography plays a role in Poland having to fight so hard to keep its territorial integrity. It is within the flat North European plain where there are no topography that can act as natural borders. Therefore, Polish wars of aggression against its neighbors were ugly and unfortunate but also understandable at the same time.

The chinese government has told the Chinese that they have freed Tibet from slavery! Yes, there was still the nobility in Tibet, but nobody in Tibet went hungry and they were allowed to prctise their religion as they wanted. But when the chinese liberated Tibet, one million Tibetans were killed and the tibetans are no longer allowed to practise their religion. I don't mind if Tibet belongs to China, but freedom of religion should continue to exist in Tibet. It is sad to see how the chinese government is destroying the monasteries that are hundreds of years old and torturing the monks to the death.

lol, if 1 million Tibetans were killed then there would have been only a few thousands left, today Tibet has a population of 6.7 million, and impossible population growth in 70 years if 1 million really did perish. When Tibet was liberated, Tibetans all camped around a fireplace to burn away the deeds that marked them as serfs and slaves and became free people. It was the best moment in Tibetan history. Today, Tibet enjoys a better GDP per capita than the exile Tibetan elites living in India that enslaved them.

@@natstube5855 The population census in 1952 was 1.27 million, Dalai Lama left in 1959 which means that almost 5 million must have perished under him according to your numbers. It is true that under the DL life was hell on earth with the average lifespan being less than 36 years old, so it is highly unlikely that the DL could afford to have fed and kept alive more than 1 million serfs and slaves. Secondly, the one child policy was only for the Hans, the other 55 ethnic minority groups did not have this restrictions including the Tibetans. In fact, 40% of women had 4 children or more. Tibet is a mountainous region with very little arable land which means very little economic growth for hundreds of years under the DL's brutal regime. Today, there are over 3 million Tibetans who enjoy a better GDP per capita than India.

lol, Tibet only had around 1 million in the 50s, and there were no massacres, just Tibetans finally becoming free people and driving out the entitled elite serf and slave owners that enslaved them for generations. The population of native Americans was 50 to 60 million before the Europeans arrived in 1492. By 1650 the population was reduced to 6 million as a result of ... There is no comparison.
