this is my 2001 dodge 2500 cummins turbo diesel truck. i thought id shoot a video showing yall me shifting through the gears. let me know if you like it!

AKweldshop They would pull anything you'd put behind them, just don't expect to go very fast. The 6.2 with pistons/rods and a turbo is a great package, very fuel efficient. Get a SM465 behind it and you have a very reliable package that will pull anything and get great mileage. The 6.5 was good providing you relocated the computer, it too was very efficient.

Cool truck! I have a 2000 5.9 cummins 2500 2wd with the 6 speed manual. Currently have 287,000K on it. Wonderful trucks for long highway trips and towing heavy stuff- now I can pull home every junk car I find! If I didn't have mine already I'd like to get yours. Good luck selling it! 95 Ram 5.9L Cummins 4x4 reg cab 8ft box, 5spd manual, 12v mechanical. Mods: P7100 pump turned WAY up, no fuel plate, twin 6" stacks, 4" turbo back, HX40 turbo, 370hp marine injecters, 3.55 gears, detroits front/rear, star wheel turned, K&N intake, CFM+ intake horn, water/meth injection, advanced timing 17 degrees, killer dowel pin kit, polished/ported heads with stud kit, big ass tow mirrors. TONS of power! Love the Cummins motor.

I find it a bit hard to think of these overgrown utes as "trucks" after a bloody long time of driving trucks with 12-17 litre diesels and Eaton Fuller crash boxes (13spd, 15spd, 18spd; EATON RTLO18918B, for example), weighing (gross) anywhere between 37,5t and 64,5t. It doesn't help that the sound this truck makes reminds me of an old Isuzu SBR I once drove when I started out. She wasn't very quick! Anyway, good to see you're having fun. Just one word of advice. Don't leave your right hand on the shift when you aren't changing gears. It puts pressure on the selector forks in the gearbox and causes them to wear out faster. Bitter experience.

Love the sound of the Cummins, if I ever get a newer truck that's what i'm getting, a Dodge with a Cummins. You drive that Stick like a pro! But you don't really need to take off in 1st when your not hauling anything, I always take off in 2nd in my 1990 7.3 Diesel. Great driving vid :)

I much prefer the 6 spd box in my '02 than the 5 speed in the non HO's and older Dodges. MUCH better for towing and/or hauling my truck camper. Good video right up to the point you talked on your cell phone while driving.
