My 2013 journey is way quicker than I ever expected it to be, very pleasantly surprising, and mind you I generally drive high hp diesels and performance gas engines pushing 500-600hp

The DJ is a sleeper, I want to put a Hellcat In my truck if I ever had the money to do it and get air suspension, with 20inch rims

I think it's just the right size pipes that have made it so loud, as they change diameter many times front to back + I deleted all flanges and got pipe welded in place, and a new high quality flex pipe, and my custom engine Mounts

I've done a resonator and Muffler delete and cut out all the flanges and welded pipe with 2.5inch pipe all way from the flex pipe to the back engine Mounts and a good flex pipe will make It louder, and maintenance spark plugs, transmission, timing belt all will contribute to sound quality, a healthy 3.5 litre is very throaty

@@burling02 blew computer from bad alternator shop wants 4500 i dont have. Back to my chevy i go Haha. The journey did its job tho would be bad ass with a lil more sound or even a turbo version.

Geez, sorry to hear that, a pcm should only be 300 max it's easy to replace, but different journeys have different computer styles, but a vin is required as it's part of all DTC, engine codes, thru the obd2, and the trucks computer needs to match the vehicle vin, trust I'm have some transmission issues lately, I've changed the solenoid pack twice, a new wiring harness, next step would be the computer, or a rebuild on the transmission that rn I can't imagine doing myself and cant afford, it's stuck in 3rd gear limp mode condition, but I'm still driving it till she gives out

Yeah you need to spice into the positive and negative, what I did was buy 3157 male bulb adapters plugged it in to the stock bulb socket from halogen bulbs for the taillights took the wires from the male adapter and wired it to the brake light I left the reverse light alone as it fit the led style housing with little modification to the plug

They leak around the flanges I got all them cut out and welded pipe so the sound comes out the back like it's supposed to, lol

The stock flanges are a nightmare, I think theirs 4 just in the engine bay

Muffler delete so just a pipe welded in its place

It has a resonator delete too

No but, in the video it was just started so, It was warming up, the idle drops when it's warmed up,

It was in closed loop for a few seconds then the idle tone slightly hesitates, and goes to open loop and idle evens out

No mufflers or resonators, there is 3 inch pipe in place welded where they used to be

I still got it I've had to do bodywork on it but it turned out pretty good

What noise

It could be any part of the exhaust, flanges or the flex pipe are most likely cause if it just randomly became loud

Or cheap ebay front bumper canards like what I have on the truck

A bit, I like hearing the sounds it creates even in highway, I've opened the hatch before and drove highway and it sounded amazing being able to hear how it sounds out the back of the truck

Delete the resonator and mufflers, if you want to get fancy delete the flanges and get them welded, and a new flex pipe, some sections are sold on eBay not sure on quality, I had my truck done at a performance exhaust shop, for everything about $1200. Delete 3 flanges, $90 a flange, so $270 + flex pipe $300 = $570 + resonator delete $130= $700 + 3inch I'd, pipe from resonator delete to Muffler delete with tips routed like factory, $500 = $1200 Id recommend doing a Muffler delete first and see how you like it

@@burling02 could a shop move the ends to come out each side befor the rear tires?

Yeah definitely, long as nothing like a gas tank is in the way, I've seen old school cars and trucks with exhaust before the rear tires, I'd do dual tip on both sides, on some trucks the exhaust is easily removed by press fit pipes and clamps over them 1 so unbolt a section 2 get a 90 degree bend cut to length,right inner diameter pipe 3 point out in front the the tire 4 do both sides 5 find tips and add to the 90 degree bend to have tips out before the rear tires, This is all depending on if it's dual exhaust all way from the engine to the back or a single pipe all way back , A single exhaust to turn into a dual exhaust would need a y pipe then two 90 degree bends and tips Look under your vehicle See if there's a section close to before the tires and unbolt it, depending on how far the pipes are back would depend if you need to cut before adding the 90 degree section,

@@burling02 i just scraped my good ol 03 impala today,. i had it straite piped out sides. sounded like an old pickup truck i loved. this journey has pretty much same engine but a 6 speed instead of the 4. i thinks ima do a Catback out the sides or 2 pipes out one side; for that added effect. i just like to hear my sh*t/ sorry not sorry hahaha.

I get about 10 litre per hundred km highway, and about 16 litre per hundred km in the city

I had to fix it from pretty much the manifold at the cat i got 2.5 inch Inner diameter pipe all way to the back same way as factory routing as I bought a exhaust made for the cobalt then deleted the resonator and Muffler, and had many flex pipes brake so replaced it too, but I'd recommend just doing motor Mounts then deleting the flex pipe so it's more solid, and cutting a hockey puck to fit inside the slots in the motor mounts and epoxy them in, good luck

For the journey it's 3 inch pipe been done same way as my cobalt

I got it fully custom build at a performance exhaust shop

Expect to pay $1000 that's every flange cut out and welded with section of pipe resonator delete and dual muffler delete

It would sound more like the 3.6 l but they sound good too
