That piece of paper you discarded says on it to be sure and apply an amount of white lithium grease inside the mating cylinder that mates with the shifter. A good fast instructional video regardless.

Thanks for the video I was able to fix my mother’s car! I brought the part on Amazon for 12.99. The the only thing is if you get stuck trying to remove the latch cable use the pick in the small hole and it will lift up so that you can remove the entire part. Other great video and thank you!

Hey so I replaced the shift interlock with the metal one like you just showed me and now the shifter moves all the way thru all the gears and now it will reverse but when I get to D it acts likes its in park or neutral it won't go forward do you know what I did wrong?

You can repair the plastic one by putting the small hose clamp around where it’s broken and then you can attach your spring again it worked for me like a charm just trying to save money

I just experienced this issue, but it somehow started working soon after, this has happened twice so far, Is it possible my issue is the solenoid as opposed to the interlock?

quick question , so i have a charger and it’s having the same issue , when i turn on the car and shift out of gear it does it perfectly but when i put it back in park and try to take it out of park it does not move it also does the clicking noise, could this be that issue ?

Hello I have a chrysler 300 2009 and it was similar.... well that was until I find out there is no pink thing. that must be the year when chrysler "improved" their mecanic about it and removed it from the system. What do I do if my car doesnt have that pink thing or anything similar to it?

I REPLACED THAT PINK THING a few years ago with a replacement made of metal! Now Randomly Magnum has started as if it’s on a delay to release and side effortlessly outta park … Sometimes I shut car off re step on brake turn key and restart and Magnum while hand is on shifter knob I can feel the shifter release all on its own like it should of done in the first place then I go to try to shift out of park and easy breezy it works fine and normal! Can u please tell me… since it’s randomly not able to come out of park but has no issues with any other gears… WHAT MORE CAN BE WRONG? I thank u for your time!

followed the video and got everything back in just fine, but now I have a UO103 code. I double checked all my connections and the car shifts and drives fine... but the code is still throwing. Any ideas?

My 2009 charger doing this, I push pink thing in it shifts, but every part says it don't fit a 2009 did they switch them up.

Do you think this would contribute to a limp mode.

I have a 2005 Magnum. Mine right now will not shift into reverse. I can get it into neutral, drive, and first no problem. Do you think that this could be my problem? Thanks for the video.

I would not have even known that thing came apart like that much .. seems like jus keep taken layer after layer of snaps an such until you get to that one little bitch of a “pink thingy” that was the problem .. customer pays 12 bucks for the part an at leas t what an hour or so labour to replace part ? Man .. that was a great video of how to .... it certainly shows you have a career in that type of industry An your damn good at it too !!
