Hi, I fixed my 90% full exhaust filter myself without any computer by following someones suggestion in another post. I only had an eighth of a tank of fuel so I drove to the station and filled up the tank with diesel. I pulled into parking space nearby put the truck in park, took off the parking brake, and maintained the engine e between 1800 and 2500 rpm's. It sure wasn't easy holding my foot on the pedal and maintaining the proper idle. After about 5 minutes the screen message said exhaust filter 80%, then another 5 minutes it went down to 50% then to zero and message said regeneration is complete. Whew, I thought I was going to go into limp mode on the way to the station and have to get a wrecker to tow me to the dealer. But thank you so much for showing the process here. Without the knowledge I learned from this video it would have been a bit more of a challenge.

Good afternoon Hi! Aberson, I read your message about 90% Full exhaust filters see dealer. I’m very sad because i just purchased my 2014 Jeep Grand cherokee Overland first time to own Ecodiesel. The reason i buy it because of the Gas mileage vs to Gas Hemi V8 engine. But when start driving couples days only city in the about 8 miles total 16 to 18 miles a day. The check engine lights ON and message saying 90% full filter full see dealer 😮 i just purchased 8 days ago and i used 4 times only not on the highway. then my Jeep Overland check engine lights ON. I follow what you said on you’re message now i have 123 Miles Distance to Empty my Gas i just put Diesel Gas 3/4 then Go the parking then shift on the parking and parking brake press gas Pedal until the RPM up to 2000 to 2500 hold 5minutes then repeat again for another 5 Minutes let see if worth to my Jeep Grand cherokee Overland Ecodiesel.

@@MrJas6477. No. At least not for a month. My check engine light went on and had to take truck to dealer. They did something emissions wise but the truck did that thing again where it said exhaust filter 90% full so I had to drive to Rio vista anyway so I though I would try it, but I got behind a couple big rigs. Hwy 12 is a 2 lane hwy and trucks were going slow. But I did it. It was nerve racking because I really needed to be going about 65-70 mph to blow out the clog this time. Check it out. It happened even one more time but listen, you have got to run your truck with overdrive off while driving under 45 mph since I started doing this I have not had another issue

Great video thank you thank you thank you. You did a fine job and I know exactly what happened here. This thing was in region mode and I shut it off and had to fuel up and when I got back in, I thought nothing of it. I figured it would kick back on and it did not, and it sent me a code so in the future, if you see that region, active for anyone out there and in progress, don’t shut your vehicle off like I did thank you

run hotshot secret edt in your diesel it helps a lot and don’t idle your truck run it on interstate once a week for bout a hour get it hot enough to clean your filter it will help alot

I also add 16oz of HSS (Diesel Extreme) - every 3 months with a fill up. My 2017 averages 584 - 652 miles Between regeneration cycles.

What I find ironic is, these new emission control systems for diesels end up polluting even more because of forced Regens. I see this all the time with the firetrucks in our fleet.

I have a 2014 Ram 3500 6.7L diesel with only 10.4 volts from PCM to MAF. I checked it at PCM (10.4 V) and its supposed to be battery voltage. Have you ever seen anything like this? great videos. keep them coming. thanks for great video information.

bob White it sounds like you have a voltage drop somewhere! check the voltage supply to the PCM, is the PCM getting over 13V with the engine running? if yes, then your problem is voltage drop between the MAF and the PCM

Jake DPF Regen only clean the soot in the DPF not in the EGR System!

Guys you have to turn your overdrive off while driving thru town or under 45 mph. This will help. Since I started doing this all the time, I have not had another notification. Back when I did have notifications I just reset the system myself by parking in neutral ( not sure if that makes a difference) and pressing the pedal til I reach between 1800 and 2500 rpm. I shoot for 2200. But it’s really difficult, unless maybe if you had a pedal commander it might be easier to nail it. It takes 10”15 minutes to clear the filter down to below 30%

Great video. My 2007 ram 2500 6.7 says 100% full loss of power. Then it smoked grey/ white and was deiseling really loud. Was it trying to regenerate and I stopped it? I pulled over cut the truck off and made it home but still down on power. Thanx for any help should I find someone fast with that scan tool u have?

I bought a scangauge II. Program it and so you can monitor your sout level and see if regeneration is on. So you know when to keep driving so it finish a full cycle. This tool can not do a forged regeneration.

Clean the def injection spray nozzle. It builds.up crystals that disrupt the def spray pattern. Just two 10 mm nuts to remove. Have a def injector gasket handy.. Crystals dissolve with water.

did this on a 2011 3500 HD (already hit the 4mph limit) customer vehicle, with our macto scan tool a few times, but the idle never completely came back down did come down but never came all the way down. ran all other tests (verified pump, injector, levels, nox, etc etc) and the only thing i can not do is "reset" the fukkin dpf code (no codes at all just the exhaust fluid screen "service NOW" with 4 chimes... any thoughts?

Good Evening, I got this error code on my 2019 Ram 2500 6.7L with 67k. Google is telling me to replace the DPF. I got the engine light on my truck and the truck is telling me that the Exaust Filter is full. Should I replaced completly or should I take out and clean it? Thank you brother for your advice

Hello there, now engine light popped again three weeks ago. And when i tried the regen, it didnt allowed as I have another code to fix before doing the regen, that is PO545. I waited for sometime. OTR Alex vlogs when the soot level starts to go over 50% there will be a message on the dash about it!! you should take it to a repair shop so they can check it out, a good scan tool can tell you the soot amount in the DPF

If after the region process, and driving for about 20+ miles with the check light OFF, the engine check light then comes back on later, what might the issue then? The check light won't stay off for more than about 2-25 miles.

I don't think there are enough real mechanics left in this world who can diagnose and fix actual problems with these newer, highly-computerized vehicles we're driving. I have a Ram 2500 with 200k miles and I had to do forced regen because that message came up. Regen went good But since that I drove for like 60 miles and the dpf filter says it is a 25% full again is that normal? I had noticed that sometimes goes up like that and all of sudden it’s on 0%, but since the forced regen I just want to make sure. Thanks in advance

Forced regeneration successful. Faulty codes erased. Still getting warning to see dealer. Mileage warning went from 180 to just under 100 and keeps going down. What to do now?

I have check engine lights on because of the Exhaust 90% full fiter see Dealer. But still rung good. I just purchased a week ago to private seller before i pay it i drove it for 4 miles about 40 mph. everything good no check engine lights ON after couples days drive on the city around 8 to 16 miles for couples days the message show up and check engine light ON. what is your advice what i need to do my Odometer reading now 155K miles do you think still good to keep it or just sell it or trade in?

I have a 2020 ram 2500 with 24000 miles that has started staying in Regen about 1/2 the time I drive it with 95% highway driving, last reading was 115 miles out of regen and 169 miles in regen before it fell out of regen!! Its still under Warranty>>Now 3 trips to the dealer and told that's Normal!! Any thoughts ?? Thanks.

A dealership replaced my DPF filter and the sensor and I still have the code P2002 even after driving 7 hr at Highway speeds. Truck has not lost power nor boost its running fine. How do I fix this?

This was good. However, I had this 90% clogged message come to my attention as I was driving on the highway for the past 5 hours at highway speeds !! I limped it back to town, the dealership had to do a "manual" re-gen as it wouldn't do it on its own. Now at 1000+ miles later it comes up again, 90% filter clogged. All of a sudden it comes up, "regenerating". So, this time it seemed to work properly and soon came up 70% blocked as I drove into the Dodge Ram dealership. The check engine light went off, the dealership said there were no messages, so I went on my way. Now another few hundred miles later the check engine light comes on again, and as it was Sunday, I went into the auto zone store lot and hooked up their computer. It came back with code P0428 Catalyst Temperature Sensor Circuit High ( Bank 1 Sensor 1 ) . I scheduled a visit and am waiting to get in to remedy the situation. Mine is a 2016 Ram Limited, with just under 69,000 miles.

Paul Bohnert a defective temp sensor can fool the computer to think like there is a restriction in the exhaust system, you should take care of that code and see what happens afterwars!!

I had this same situation where we had multiple regens within a couple weeks. Then after that, went 6 months before the next regen. Theessage displayed says nearing full, even though we've done lots of highway driving. I'm thinking of pulling those sensors I'm the exhaust and clean or replace at every oil change.

Why hasn't the exhaust regeneration process started on its own ? Mine usually does and I'll have to drive down the interstate for about 15 minutes to complete the process... but I just received the 90% full message after taking a 1200 mile trip...

My dealership has tried the regen and said it didn’t work. Supply chain issues put me 2 months out on parts. Dpf filter $2100 + temp sensor and labor $3,700.00. I don’t care about the money. All totalled 3 months without my brand new vehicle! What options do I have? Elimination kit= a fraction of the price. Disconnect the battery and Regen myself again? C-4? 140k miles the warranty is long gone.

Maribel you don’t need to clear anything. You just have to regenerate it, drive 55mph or higher and it switches into regeneration itself. Don’t let it get to 100% ever, if it does, reset the code with a cheap scan tool then regenerate again. But I’ve been told getting to 100% can cause limp mode and possibly have to replace the actual part. But in the future call a dealer for this they’ll just tell you to drive it, like this guy paid a mechanic to just drive his truck when the dealer would have told him what to do for free. Not bagging on the mechanic because private mechanics are waaaaay better than dealer ones for the most part, but all this information is out there it just has to be searched for. Ex, one can change the oil in this truck for 1/3 of the price anywhere else, unless you take it to a cheap place and they use the incorrect 5w40; because the manufacturer only allows 1 specific oil for this truck because other brands don’t meet the standard.
