Some trolls are now accusing Ohtani was in on it, he does'nt need money to gamble, he makes a hundred million dollars in endorsements alone. But when a player is as great as Ohtani is they'll be haters, we saw that with the great Micheal Jordan, tried to link him with gambling and trolls coming on knocking him.

Tim Duncan lost $20M dollars through his long time financial advisor whom he's great friends with in 2018. He only knew about it during his divorce proceedings. It's not surprising that Ippei has access to Shohei's account/s because he's more than just an interpreter to him. Also, if Shohei is gambling why would he owe anyone $4.5M instead of paying it off on the go even if he's doing it through Ippei?

Tons of famous people have had their money stolen from advisors, “friends”, “family”, etc. to think that the interpreter couldn’t have done this silly. So the interpreter said that Ohtani gave him the money to pay off his debt? You’re going to believe the same guy who embezzled the money to begin with.
@KevinWieschhues
@KevinWieschhues 2 ай бұрын
The interpreter absolutely could have done this. However, it is equally as silly to assume that Ohtani would not have gambled himself, just because it does not "fit his personality". I love the player Ohtani is but know next to nothing about the human being - and that is fair. It is totally fair for him to keep as much private as he can. But if so, no one can justifiably say that Ohtani would not be capable of gambling himself. Just throwing it out there: Who says Ohtani did not gamble himself and now his camp is trying everything to make sure, his interpreter is taking the fall for it?
@solenstyle
@solenstyle 2 ай бұрын
@@KevinWieschhues The only thing pointing to Ohtani is that he had to sanction a large amount of money over. Everything else points to the interpreter. The bookie has no reason to lie about Ohtani. The gambling was also done on college football, which is something Americans enjoy only (interpreter grew up in California). The money is listed as a loan, when Ohtani could simply pay straight up. The money is listed under Ohtani, when if he was really using the interpreter as the middle man, it should be under the name of someone other than himself. So the question remains, how does an interpreter gain access to that kind of money? The answer is obvious to me. 1. The interpreter is still Japanese, where shame can allow himself to explain to Ohtani that he should sign over something, but he can't have any other Ohtani advisors know about it because it will bring shame on him, the interpreter. 2. The interpreter is obviously not just an interpreter. Anybody following Ohtani knows that this guy is his best friend. And 3. the obvious bit is that he is an interpreter. Why would Ohtani know technical English (English gambling, finance terminology) that would make him suspicious of his interpreter? He has to rely on his interpreter for transactions so knowledge of navigating the online banking system or just banking system in general has to go through the interpreter. A close friend can easily ask Ohtani for his signature, have access to his account info, not disclose legal ramifications, lie about the amount of debt owned, or the fact that it was gambling debt, and so on... It would be more hard to believe if this was taking place in Japan.
