This Sultan of Johor is next in line to be the next King of Malaysia when current king’s 5-years term ends early next year.

Glad that you get to attend the Sultan's of Johore's open house and an added bonus is you get to take photos with each of them which for a lot of us Malaysian is rare.

Gigi it is well organised because we have been doing open house for more than 3 generations. It is normal for Malaysians.

The Sultan' mother was a pure English woman. She was Lady Marcella if I am not mistaken.

Amazing Hari Raya open house experience, Mike Gigi. It's truly an honour to have some photographs taken with the Sultan and the royal family. Great that you both enjoyed the "makan - makan" and finally given a bag of goodies before departure. Still not late for me to wish everyone "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf, Zahir & Batin/Happy Eid Mubarak.

Wow! This Hari Raya open house by Sultan of Johor is soo grandiose. You guys are super lucky to be invited & managed to take photos with the Sultan & his son, TMJ the next in line to be Sultan and other royal members. So far, I don't even get the chance to be near the Sultan bcoz he is always surrounded by his bodyguards. Haha, I am v glad you experienced this Hari Raya open house. I also enjoyed watching your video. Thanks. 🙏

FYI the Sultan grandfather sultan abu bakr had a brother (Ungku Abdul Majid) who married an ottoman princess Rugayyah Hanum in 1866. The Ottoman sultan abdul aziz gave the princess as a gift & for diplomatic reasons. Again During his state visit to the Ottoman Empire in September 1893, Abu Bakar married his fourth wife, Khadijah Khanum, who was of Circassian heritage. (Khadijah's sister, Rugayah, became the wife of Abu Bakar's brother and later the wife of the first Menteri Besar of Johor, Dato' Jaafar). He had a daughter, Tunku Fatimah with Khadijah the following February, who was later crowned as the Sultanah of Johor So now in the house of johore there is ottoman blood.

You guys make me smile. You both are so brave to talk to the Sultan and his princes without being nervous. Yes, the royal family of Johor is super rich but they are friendly with the people. They really care for their subjects in Johor.

One of the very special things about Malaysia is we have open houses for major festivals and it's open to everyone across all races/religions even foreigners. For Hari Raya, there will be open house. For Chinese New Year and Deepavali, there will also be open houses.

Wow you must be one of the luckiest people to meet Sultan Johor and his Crown Prince.. I am from Kuching and I hope one day I can meet them in person..Mike and Gigi your video is always awesome.. Good job man 👍👍

I was there, almost the whole day!! If i known you were there, i would have looked. I'm glad you have meet with the prince, a former minister, talking and having selfie with the sultan (behind him is, wearing grey is current Head Minister of Johor) and the crown prince (also the boss of JDT football club) and also been asked if you have eaten by the queen! Really hope you enjoyed it,like i do.
