I a million percent relate to exactly what he said. When asked why I want to be Jewish I always say "I've always felt like this is who I am and who I've always been. I was a Jewish person born into a Christian family and now I'm homesick desperate to become Jewish"

Same here. I'm from a Catholic family but I've always felt pulled towards Judaism. Judaism has always given me more comfort and peace than Christianity ever has. I'm 15 and I want to convert to Judaism with all of my existence. I wish you well on your journey to Judaism (if you do convert). G-d bless.

@@pinkflower1076 That's incredible! I love hearing other people being able to relate. It's amazing how multiple people can feel such a strong pull to something like Judaism. May G-D bless you as well in your conversion. I know you'll be a lot happier doing what you feel is right for you.

Unfortunately, that's not what Rabbi Friedman says. According to him, the convert's real soul is not Jewish, rather he gets a NEW soul which IS Jewish. Whatever happens to the "old" non-Jewish soul. Rabbi Friedman is amazing, but I don't buy this "new soul" stuff. I believe that you're either Jewish from the beginning - a convert or not - or you're not Jewish at all.

I know exactly what you mean, i was also born and raised in a Christian family but i always felt i was different, i would always question the Christian bible, i got hooked on the Torah(didnt know it as Torah back then , was the old testament) and wondered why we couldn't practise what was instructed, the so called New testament never interested me anymore, finally i stopped attending church services for 5years, i didnt know where else to go because I never knew about Judaism until I saw a facebook post by an Australian Jew , I'm working on my conversion now and hope to do so soon, a Jewish soul wont rest until it gets back to its root....Baruch haShem

Sometimes i cry because it's so incredible that I really get so confused. It was within me since I was a kid. After years of coincidences that always brought me back to Judaism or Israel, and finally accepting that I can't do anything to change what I feel, I joined my synagogue. In 4 months I've healed from all traumas I had since 30 years. I took a dna test 2 months ago, I got askenazi dna. My surname was typical of sefafdic Jews who where kicked out of Spain during inquisition. A true miracle. Im forever grateful to be coming back home, even if I still struggle believing what's happening to me, but I feel how my soul is sparkling and healing and shining now, and how it comes naturally to me to help others. Thank you, Hashem. I trust you. Forever grateful.

Just an anecdote. I converted in 1996. In December 97 I was in London, emerging from underground with a crowd of thousands at Piccadilly Circus station. Two Lubavitcher kids, teenagers, came up to me in this sea of people and said, “Excuse us, but are you a Jew?” I was blown away. I asked why they homed in on me among the thousands of tourists flowing through there. They simply said, “We can tell.”

Rabbi! However, the Torah is all about physical changes when taking on the covenant: circumcision, immersion in water, kosher (food affects body), tefillin are physical, and sexual relationships etc etc. It must be that the Torah never mentions any soul discipline for a reason. It seems that ANY convert was already born with a Soul from the Nation of Israel. "Conversion" is just the physical process of joining the nation. No one ever gets a new soul. They have their soul from the beginning. Then, the Torah instructs us in our physical lives. Thoughts?

Miriam Saavedra Serna i understand what you mean. I have felt the same way. My family is from Mexico and both of my great grandfathers were from Spain. They changed their last names when they arrived to Mexico, and I later found out they are considered Sephardic last names. You can check different sources and see if both Saavedra and Serna are on the list. I’ve heard some Rabbis say that those who are seeking Hashem and whole heartedly desiring to connect to Judaism, were always Jewish and their souls were longing to make that connection.

Thank you for this video! My conversion process took 9-10 years because I fought it and tried to put it off but Hashem called me to convert so I did it in the end after much reading, classes, and talking to 5 different rabbis. I am definitely not a Frum or very religious Jew but I raised my children Jewish and I try my best to pray multiple times a day and be a better person. Sometimes when I wonder about why Hashem called me to convert, I feel it is related to my beloved Grandfather. He was not a Jew but he fought in WWII as a US Army soldier and he was with the 42nd Rainbow Division that liberated Dachau. I don't know how this Jewish soul thing works but I feel my Jewish soul is related somehow to his part in the liberation and him being a part of trying to save people at Dachau. My beloved grandfather died when I was young so I was never able to ask him questions but I have some of his WWII documents and medals.

Absolutely right. As someone of Jewish descent but who needed to convert, I remember the moment when G-d gave me my Jewish soul at the mikvah in front of three shomer shabbat orthodox rabbis. It kind of happened suddenly without my noticing as it were and then I started feeling like I was taking off! That is when I truly came home in my heart and soul, and the utter agony and desperate longing I'd been going through for many months finally ended. Many years ago now, and I feel and am as Jewish as anyone fortunate enough to be born as one according to Jewish law, who didn't have to go through this horrendously testing process first.

Hii, jew can't convert. The rabbi talked once about it and explained: What's basically converting? Converting = basically, to be better. Now Jew have 613 Commandments and non jew have 7. So how come a jew can be better if instead having 613 Commandments that makes him close to GD, he will have 7. Instead of him go up, he will go down. There for he can't be better = convert, be he goes down. So a Jewish person can't convert. I hope i answer your question (the rabbi did a good video about it, you should look for it)

theres no such thing leaving judaism. a jewish soul will forever stay a jewish soul. it cant convert. however jews who want to become secular or practice other religion, technically they can, cuz god gives us a free will to do whatever we want, but in the end, after 120, that soul will be judged as a jewish soul

Most humans do NOT know what the SOUL really is ! Sadly Many experiencing the Earth Program, CONFUSE the SOUL with either the Spirit or "LIFE The Real Self" or even the human entity ! The SOUL is actually "The Processing System of LIFE" (Part of The HOUSE OF GOD otherwise known as ZION) Let us Not forget or Ignore the words of The Prophet Jeremiah; From "The Book of The Prophet Jeremiah", Chapter 17 verse 5, Quote; 5. Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. End Quote. "LIFE The Real Self" is "The LIGHT of MAN" which is "The LIFE of GOD", but sadly the human flesh WARS against this Truth !

Rabbi Friedman, isn't this a non - issue, because in some other videos you argue against the existence of 'choice'. So no one is anything by choice, whether Jew or non - Jew.

@tehufn

No, it could have been on your father's side. DNA is helpful, but it doesn't make it certain. If your mother was Jewish, or your mother's mother, or her mother (and so on), then yes. Genealogy is more important, because "Jewishness" is only conveyed from the mother. If you're not sure, you can convert.

If the DNA is mitochondrial then, yes. If it is Autosomal then it could be showing it from patrilineal and sadly, they get ignored as "real" goes. Id still say conversion is wise because it will ensure you are shown and taught the lifestyle, prayers, holidays, observance of shabbat, family purity, etc and assistance to immerse in mikvah, brit milah or circumcision if necessary (sorry I dont know your gender) and it would help you find community.

I wonder if DNA heritage is validated by a sanedrin to identify yourself as jew. But I have my own take on what conversion really does . I think learning and as I understand genetic ancestry. It came out with multiple nations European American, Asian places like Afghanistan, Iran, inuit, and ashkenazi jew . So that makes me a multiple mutt , and every ancestor that gave me their DNA will always be my ancestors therefore I have their heritage and blood coursing in my body , in a mystical sense I also carry their part of their soul withing me let's say I have 4 grandparents. 2 for my mother a 2 for my father ,go back one ancestor I have another 4 great- grandparents, plus another 4 great-great-grandparents , so if you go back all the way back to all of them that makes me the son of many parents no matter how hard I try to deny who I am i will always carry their DNA. So conversion to Judaism is like I'm honoring more my asheknazi grandparents above all else . and one of God's commandments is to honor thy father and mother , So I cannot break the commandment by choosing who may I honor , I'm going to honor every single code of DNA as God commands , because God's commands trumps conversion to Judaism. And conversion to Judaism will only honor my ashkenazi grandparents leaving everyone else out . And I cannot commit suicide on my body, I. cannot say oh my legs I inherited from Italians grandparents I need to chop then off and also , oh my hair i inherited from Iberian grandparents I should chop off my hair , and oh my eyes i inherited from Balkan grandparents I should pluck them out . So that would be insanity if I have to do that to convert to Judaism. Is not worthy all my ancestors were good and righteous people because I am reflection of them all perfectly righteous and good . If they were wicked i would be a wicked son .I love all my ancestors they are part of me and I'm going to honor them all . I have every ancestor of the world except African. Definitely not a descendant of Ham. But a descendant of Shem and japhet .and this is one of the reasons I feel second conflicting thoughts in my spirit , I have been trying to figure out for so long why I feel multiple duality , I mean mixed internal conflicts within my soul when it comes to conversion to Judaism. Because I know deep inside of me Torah and me are one that's what I feel but also I feel a lingering multiple subtle second guesses about it . Not just one many internal voices. I can only based on my DNA ancestry heritage is that I'm carrying the soul of many ancestors , no wonder the psalms 91 says a verse ten thousand may fall at your right side and a Thousand at your left side it just based on my understanding the souls that I carry within me , because you have to keep in mind that millions of millions of souls have passed over over the course of 5781 years so that's a lot of ancestors therefore I carry today their every nook and cranny of their DNA gene . So I'm a multiple nation narrowed down into one single body , I'm the son of millions of ancestors. So how can cut off my body parts just because they are a part of certain ancestors. You can't by reason and logical thinking incorruptible thought .disregard your ancestors. I can always be a jew by blood part of me but also I'm many nations all of them descendant of Shem and japhet . Like Noah blessed shem with may Japhet dwell in the tents of Shem. Unfortunately I dwell in the tents of Shem and also Japhet dwells in my tents. So can either be Japhet or Shem either way they are my first ancestors after the flood . Consequently making me the blood Brother of Shem and Japhets descendants . Therefore the jewish people that descended from Shem are my brothers and the converts that descended from Japhet are also my brothers. So that means I don't need to convert because I am already a jew by blood, soul , body, mentally, spiritually, generational, and dimensional , I've always felt that I just don't need to struggle with it . All I need to do is accept who I am . Because that's all I can be and do . Like the Rabbi said converts are jews by choice , but me is not about choice I'm just condemned for eternity to be a descendant of Shem and Japhet . That's how I truly know it . I don't just feel it I'm just what I am . Because my name is I AM.

@miaudottk9080

@John Quinn First, it's Pastafarian, not "rasta". Rastafarians are Christian, not jewish. Pastafarian judaism is the new religion I want to start with a simple doctrine: - hashem is The Flying Spaghetti Monster ( 'cause I had a vision and he told me) - adopt a Torah without violence and hate. For this I'm proposing simply to rename The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster into something like Da new Torrah. No one will read it anyway. - can haz fun and beer!

@John Roe Yes, but, meow! Jewish pastafarianism ain't about that racist god you read about in that garbage-found literature. It may have been discarded for a good reason. The FSM is a lot better than that god: he preaches beer && no hate. Oh! And btw he's the true god 'cause I meow so. Better try reading some real literature, like the one and only true holly book: "The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster". It will probably move you towards the way.

WARNING IN BIBLE: 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. 10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. 13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. 14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; 15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. 16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. 17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. 18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. 19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. 20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways. (Ezkiel 33:7-20). Heaven&Hell Exists,Dont be Deceived.

Save your soul from this "Jewish soul" lie. This is "Judaism" according to Chabad and the Kabbalists; not according to Moses, the early sages, and most importantly God Himself. Read the whole Bible, and the early Jewish sages up until through Gaonim (eg. Saadya Gaon); you won't find any concept of the so-called "godly Jewish soul", reincarnation, or these apparent intrinsic differences between Jew and Gentile. In fact, you find the opposite message clearly taught. The only thing that makes an individual Jew special is if he/she keeps the commands of God and knows God- and, this opportunity is equally open to any human being. Stop with this "godly Jewish soul" business- and save your soul from these lies and magic tricks. Come to the real God and His real Torah. You can't make yourself close to God because of your lineage, heritage, tribe, intrinsic spiritual essence; anyway "spiritual essence" and tribal heritage are 2 completely different things. God is reaching out to everyone, and is equally accessible to ALL: as it says in the Psalms, "The LORD is close to ALL those who call Him, to ALL those who call Him in truth"
