Adderall, Ritalin, and other stimulants commonly used to treat ADHD have been sweeping the nation by students seeking better grades. It’s time to dive deep into the science and separate fact from fiction: do stimulants actually help improve your grades?
First, this is a strictly an educational video only. I am not recommending that anyone take any prescription medications without a prescription for said medication. I personally have never taken any drugs or substances to help me study or be productive, including stimulants, except for the caffeine that comes in coffee. Second, I am not your doctor and this does not constitute medical advice in any capacity. Third, this video and the content here is primarily target at individuals who are curious to learn about these substances as cognitive enhancers.

Methylphenidate (Ritalin) and Amphetamine (Adderall) are the two prescription stimulants most commonly used by students as cognitive enhancers. These are Schedule II substances in the U.S., and while they are effective in treating ADHD, they should not be used by those without a prescription.

Could you cover the effects of taking Psilocybin and LCD in micro doses, please? I have never done anything like that, as I associated these compounds with hardcore drugs and with something criminal and jaded. Recently, I am beginning to reconsider my stance on the chemicals as more and more New Age movement advocates, as well as some of those representing the academic world, expressing an alternative view on the subject. Namely, that these substances are not drugs and are extremely beneficial for people in all sorts of ways including medical treatment of ailments, which mainstream medicine fails to treat successfully. Additionally, often one of the suggested reasons for criminalizing LCD/Psilocybin is to suppress people's creativity, possible cognitive functions enhancement, as well as to hamper the process of gaining spiritual awareness and growth. It has been rumored, that the practice of administering LCD/Psilocybin in micro-doses has been running deep for a long time on Walll Street and Silicon Valley. However, for me it is still a controversial subject, which necessitates more research before I decide to venture to try the experiment. Thanks:)

As someone with ADHD taking a stimulant I would advise people to be careful. Make sure you keep a consistent sleep schedule, and take your medication in the morning. Your memory requires sleep, it's easy to think you can just slide by on minimal sleep and stimulants, but you will suffer for it. Additionally, don't use your medication to cram, you can sit there and look at notes for hours, but that doesn't mean you'll recall them the next day. Personally, I try to dedicate 3-4 hours of studying a day. Additionally, make sure you eat food, even if you don't want to. Eat proteins and veggies, and drink lots of water.

I was diagnosed with ADHD by a psychiatrist in my freshman year of college. In the auditory attention span category (from the two separate ADHD tests I was given) I ranked in the 98th percentile but my visual attention span was in the low 20's. Afterwards I tried mindfulness, meditation, took two courses on study habits and even implemented a fairly steady workout regimen. The aforementioned helped me maintain that 3.2 GPA but the semester after I was prescribed Adderall that rose to a 3.85. Procrastination was no longer a problem, focusing on complex material such as lengthy reading assignments and analyzing journal articles became much easier and overall my ability to retain information from my studies was profoundly enhanced. This was a great subjective video but for those of us with viable diagnosed ADHD stimulants can be a godsend.

After reading the comments I conclude the following: If you feel that you can never focus on studying, that planning your every day activities are difficult, that you forget things where you put them, can´t sit still for 30 minutes in a row for studying, then you might have ADD/ADHD and should go see a doctor to be evaluated. It´s never recommended to take Adderal/Ritalin without a prescription since these pills are addictive if the dosage is wrong, if you are taking different dosages every day you will be addicted to them in the longrun. Normally prescribed Adderal/Ritalin is given so that you take the same dose everyday so that the risk of addiction is lower. Buying adderal/ritalin that aren´t prescribed by a doctor can also contain all sorts of funny things and is probably not 100% the real thing. Also I just want to add that taking adderal/ritalin is not a choice for people with ADD/ADHD, they can´t function like normal people without it, they have a very difficult time just planning daily activities (a small task like that is a big struggle).

Anika Hossain thank you SO much for saying this!!!! I am one of those people that has an imbalance in my brain chemistry called adhd and therefore I need to be prescribed Adderall in order to correctly adjust that chemical imbalance/deficiency and allow for me to be able to have the ability to achieve and maximize my potential in life (in all activities/thought processes/emotional regulation efforts, even! etc.) that I always knew I wasn’t able to quite accomplish because I couldn’t master my wild and crazy thought filled and constantly going 100,000x a second, over-analyzing but “100 internet browser tabs open at a time” brain! It has made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. And ps- I actually “hid” my extremely adhd “true self” so well throughout elementary and high school (even part of college) because (apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️) I actually *am* really smart (wow, that was a hard one to self-accept and internalize after so long of being the scatterbrained expert in useless knowledge lol) and I could achieve really high grade point averages and was an exceptional standardized test taker. It was only because that was all I had ever known that I didn’t even know or realize exactly how hard and practically IMPOSSIBLY so, that I had been having to overcompensate for that annoying af “little” imbalance in my brain chemistry!!!!! I cried the first time I took my medication because I could actually start AND FINISH an entire major project or task in one sitting (and so much faster- because I wasn’t getting up every 3-4 minutes(ish) to go get a Diet Coke or pop my head out of my office or bedroom or wherever to say “hey” to my friend or colleague..... or just zone out and start going down a rabbit trail hole of thoughts and internal processing through using the imagery that I could create and work through everything in those thoughts- which I actually still do, just successfully because I am now with the help from my medication, able to take those thought processes and analysis and conclusions, and directly translate them outward through my actions without the incredibly insufferable feeling of impatience and boredom that used to derail me on everything- if I’ve already done it in my mind, it’s like I’ve already done it as a whole and there’s no internal spark or motivator to seemingly “do it all over again” in reality lolololol..... it’s hard to describe!) Anyway, lest you think I am not quite qualified to speak on med school level discussions, I did get accepted to and go to law school (took my LSAT without accommodations, ahem, and scored in the 80th percentile... 😉🤭) but I chose a different career path due to various reasons including the over saturation of the legal professionals job market and newly graduated hopeful aspiring associate lawyers finding themselves without any offers or legitimate prospects despite an often stellar performance in law school and summer associate experience. Thanks for reading, if you’ve gotten this far! And remember this as well, if there’s somebody who’s prescribed to an adhd medication and they are willing to sell you some of it (or ALL of the prescription to many others during exams for example....) let’s just say, in my qualified opinion, they don’t need to be prescribed to that medication at all. I would rather sell an internal organ on the black market than even THINK about selling my medication for any amount of money or anything at all whatsoever, especially during extremely focus-demanding and highly requisite and strenuous attention dependent activities. I actually need it and *know* that I will be setting myself back inexcusably if I don’t have or don’t adhere to my prescription medication regimen- plus it just makes me SO MUCH HAPPIER because I can actually DO THE THINGS and not have to practically kill myself in order to get it done on a basic level, in the process! It is a godsend and I’ll be honest I have faced a lot of backlash because of the extremely negative reputation that goes along with having to be prescribed adhd medications (especially the one that works the best for me and my particular brain chemistry- adderall), and unfortunately I have faced the most judgement and condemnation and prejudice, suspicion, and recently blatant neglect and very irresponsible misdiagnosis (because she just flat out didn’t believe me when I articulated my experiencing a migraine at the time, which I have been properly diagnosed with and have like clockwork 3-4 days every month... 🙄😥) from a stuck up bitchy ass doctor who could hardly stand to be there already in the first place- abc that was about the closest to as bad as I’ve gotten from PHARMACISTS. I’m sorry but pharmacists should really think about the whole idea behind their practical application of that degree their earning and make peace with ACTUALLY DISPENSING MEDICATION TO VALID PRESCRIPTION HOLDERS AS DIRECTED AND WRITTEN BY THEIR PRESCRIBER/MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL REGARDLESS OF THEIR OWN PERSONAL BIAS OR OPINION OF THE MEDICATION or they need to get the f*ck out of pharmacy school. I as a 34 year old woman do not have time to fight with the newly graduated baby pharmacist at Walgreens TWO DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS because I’m going out of town with my family and OH YEA your pharmacy ISN’T GOING TO BE OPEN on the day of the exact second that you are arbitrarily saying, without any adherence to the actual legal regulations, that I need to wait until to come back and get my refill.... because oh yea ITS MFING CHRISTMAS DAY (andddd I’ll be out of town you pinheaded stupid little man! Lol..... can you tell he basically treated and spoke to me like I was the most disgusting drug addict that lives in a sewer and hocus pocus style sucks out little children’s souls or something as cartoonishly awful like that???? 🤦🏻‍♀️🖕🏼🤣🤷🏻‍♀️) so if you’re going to be a medical professional and you’re reading this, thank you for you dedication and willingness to use your intelligence and perseverance to the best of society and for the good of everyone around us, truly. I am grateful and appreciative of you who have a passion for medicine and work hard to achieve excellence in being in the field of work providing it, however that might be attained and/or accomplished!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 🥽🥼💕💕💕💕

I don't think taking stimulants in a education environment can be compared to PEDs in sport. Sports are strictly about competing against one another, however school is supposed to be about improving one's knowledge. Supposing the use of stimulants was productive, it would be unreasonable to expect a student to disadvantage themselves just to make the class competition more fair.
@GoingGoneable
@GoingGoneable 6 жыл бұрын
Your argument is based on school not being a competitive environment, but I think that's a false assumption. You could just as easily say that sports are a way to improve your own personal best times/weights/strength, which means it would be okay to take PEDs. At the end of the day, there are limited seats in top schools, which leads to competition. I think this mindset comes from drug testing not being common in schools, so it appears there is little risk/no problems associated with stimulant abuse for gaining a competitive edge.
@vexxevxevvex2622
@vexxevxevvex2622 5 жыл бұрын
Thank You Google! Nope, not the same thing. If we're talking about the Ivy League, sure it's competitive. But 90%+ of students are not in Ivy League, and therefore that argument as it pertains to *all* schooling is false. Is there competition found in a classroom environment? Sure. But students don't go thousands of dollars into debt to "compete" against one another, that's ridiculous; they go into debt to get a degree and to ultimately make a living off of what they went to school to do. You could say people compete when they are older and have a full time job that requires one to be one of the best in their given field, but school is meant to challenge one's own mental capabilities when it comes to remembering things. Also, not everyone is competitive-minded, many are O.K. with being normal.
@GoingGoneable
@GoingGoneable 5 жыл бұрын
VeXeR ShObOx I invite you to reread my comment, reread yours, and try to spot a logical inconsistency. Perhaps unknowingly, you've removed the context from my comment, and then attacked the position out of context. This is a very subtle version of the strawman fallacy, which makes it difficult to recognize; but nonetheless it is still logically inconsistent. When making an argument, it would be redundant to list out the context every time you wanted to make a point, so I did not write out that: 1.This argument is comparing PEDs to Adderall 2.This comment is on a video about students who abuse stimulants for higher GPA's 3.This is a channel designed to help Pre-Meds You've shaped my argument to be about ALL students, and ALL schooling (you've even bolded the word "all"), which of course is an easier position to attack. So allow me to bring back the context. YES, I am talking exclusively about Ivy League and other high ranking, competitive environments, because Pre-med is a highly competitive environment where stimulants are likely to be abused to get a competitive edge. NO, I am not talking about the bottom 90% of students, as these students are not the ones who are competitive enough to want to abuse stimulants, and Pre-meds are often in the top 10%. And to avoid the Fallacy fallacy, where I would never actually address your argument and just focus on the fallacy within, let's examine why the two positions aren't the same (all students vs top 10%) by relating it back to PEDs. You could say 90% of all athletes are not in competitive, high paying position (most are in Rec-leagues, high school sports, T-ball, etc.). These athletes aren't playing for pure "competition", but rather for fun. Of course, as you might have figured out from above, when we are talking about PEDs we aren't talking about the kindergarten T-ballers (or any of the bottom 90%). When we talk about abusing PEDs, we are no longer in the realm of sports intended purpose, for entertainment, but rather as competitive edge. The same could be said for stimulant abuse in school. Why do I type all this out? I don't mean to be condescending, I simply think decontextualization is a growing problem in our society today, and we need to be a little bit better about recognizing when we do it, otherwise it's very easy to portray a group of people in a negative, incorrect way and become dismissive of their arguments, even when their argument in context is sound (once arguments are removed from their context, most arguments look extremely weak/straight up wrong). Let me know if you think I made any errors, or if you have a counterpoint.

No, how you do in academic situations can have an effect on future employment. Also, in some situations your grades depends on how well you do compared to your peers. This is especially notable in standardized tests, where statistics dictates your score. So, it can give a huge disadvantage to people without access to drugs or people that don't want to risk breaking the law.

I never understood the "euphoria" that some people report with it and if someone offered me some at a party i would just ask if i can save it for later when i get home to study. It turns out i actually just had ADHD. If this sounds like you i recommend self assessing yourself for ADHD and/or other dopamine related disorders and see a doctor if youre checking off a lot of symptoms. Im really happy to know more about how my brain works and to start taking stimulants in a recommended way with guidance from my doc.

Amberleigh Clyde I'm a senior with the opposite problem, got A's in calc but struggled to even get B's in ochem I and II. However, for calc one and two, I was fortunate that my university had a math lab with free math tutors, which is where I spent the majority of my time those semesters. Look for on campus resources, consider tutors, and (when you say you struggle, idk if that means you can't pass, or can't get a "decent grade" but I'm going to say this just in case) don't be concerned about getting an awesome grade in math, if you've passed, be done with the subject. I've seen a lot of students stall out in their degree because they had to take two math classes too many, even though they did well elsewhere, so a pass is a pass. Good luck!

I was in your same position. Prior to taking statistics I haven't received an A in a math course since 5th grade. I took pre-calc in college and a pre-med calc class and did not do well. Come senior year I had to take calc 1 & 2 for my chemistry major and I started teaching myself via youtube. Professor Leonard was my favorite lecturer since mine was terrible. I highly recommend you watch his videos for calculus I and 2. With his help I was able to get an A in calc 1 and an A+ in calc 2

I've always done well in my math related courses, but when it comes to sciences I tend to struggle on certain topics. I think it has more of how math and science related courses are taught, in science courses you need a good foundation in theory on handling questions, for example you can easily make up any scenario and you could make an easy physics question from it, but for math the type of question can only change so much so I would just keep doing the same problem until I can do it perfectly.

Thank you for taking the Moral and Ethical implications into account. Not only do you maybe get a unfair advantage. But additionally you are taking a advantage not available to those who really need to take these drugs and you create a image of these drugs, leading to somehow discrimination of people with severe ADHD or in general attention disorders. I usually always was open about my ADD while I was going to school and no-one bothered. But as soon I went to university, people made the assumption that "it"s just because I want the stimulant advantage". But people don't understand that university (pharmacy) would be completely impossible for me without these medications. Without my meds I don't even get to campus without being close to getting hit by a truck, falling by not paying attention to the street etc.

I found your video absolutely correct in practically everything you stated. Although on the moral & ethics. My main reasoning to your opinion on moral & ethics to said substances is multifaceted. The definition of moral is concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character. The definition of ethics is moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity. Now morals are subjective, just like your opinion and my opinion. Now this raises questions on ethical procedures. Like you said the administration of a medication in which the patient is not diagnosed with or has no symptoms of what that medication is used for is morally wrong. Analogous to an olympic athlete using enhancement drugs giving them an advantage over one who does not & I agree with that. We can also agree that moral and legal are 2 completely different subjects. In other words a medication or even a procedure can be legal yet immoral at the same time. Using your example that a person is immoral for taking a substance to gain an advantage of another I propose this argument. In my opinion & many others, abortion is morally wrong. And people will debate over & over when exactly does life begin? Put very simply carbon based life forms have distinct genetic codes that come from both maternal & paternal DNA. So life begins when the new DNA chain is formed. Here's where I believe your argument on morals and ethics is debatable. Her body her choice gives the woman an advantage over a man when the DNA of the child is a distinct code that derives from both the maternal & paternal DNA. Now this is a crude analogy, and I'm sure someone is going to misconstrue it but basically oversimplified let's say the man & the woman are business partners and deal in antiques. She happens to own the warehouse that stores the antiques that you both invested in 50/50. But she decides either to get rid of all the antiques in the warehouse without discussing it with the business partner who owns half the antiques. And her argument is it's my warehouse and it's my choice whether or not to keep the antiques and you don't have any say on what I can or cannot do to my warehouse. Also we have to put into perspective that it's common practice for pharmaceutical companies to utilize the same medication for multiple diagnoses. Especially when it comes psychiatric medications. I mean Sigmund Freud was addicted to cocaine & it is well documented in his journals. And cocaine is schedule 2 and if I'm not mistaken it's only used hospital settings for certain eye surgeries. Although derivatives of cocaine without the stimulating properties exist OTC & have multiple applications from tooth aches, to coca cola, all the way to lubricants for sexual pleasure. So we study the history of medications, applications, & legalities. One of the things I find absolutely fascinating is heroin Hcl, first synthesized in 1896 by Bayer was specifically used as a cough suppressant due to tuberculosis. Interestingly the first "drug laws" were discussed in the Harrison Tax Act of 1914. The government began legislation on what is a drug, it's applications, & what determines legality. And there was a plethora of drugs that were proposed, 1 of which is so common place we don't even realize that it's practically in everything & nearly became an illegal substance. That chemical was caffeine. But the Harrison Tax Act really just made it where it was doctor's discretion on whether or not to prescribe these medications. Which later on the government started going after doctors for overmedicating. Which at that time there wasn't really a definitive answer on how to treat a chemically dependant patient. Do you continue to feed the addict or not etc... But let's fast forward to how & why we have the scheduling of narcotics today. In 1934 The Marijuana Tax Act which Hearst (owner of many magazines & newspapers today) lobbied for this due to owning property papermills & was involved in logging industry saw cannabis as a threat to the paper industry. I mean cannabis literally grows everywhere and has been used & cultivated since the dawn of mankind. In fact the term canvas derives from cannabis, our founding fathers used to grow massive quantities for applications such as rope, sails on ships etc.... Well the marijuana tax act stated that for you to sell and distribute marijuana across state border you had to bring the marijuana to a government facility where they would weigh it and place a tax stamp on it. Problem was if you showed up at the facilities in possession of marijuana you were therefore arrested for the possession. It was catch 22. Then United States vs Timothy Leary who argued that the marijuana tax act was unconstitutional by incriminating yourself (the 5th amendment) & with unanimous decision that law was struck down by the supreme court. So in the Nixon administration the government designed the scheduling system we see today. Schedule 1-4 & to be quite honest I personally don't know how they truly these narcotics! Marijuana is schedule 1 yet opioids are schedule 2 except for heroin which honestly when metabolized by your liver it's converted into large quantities of morphine which is a schedule 2. I remember when codeine was OTC as was desoxyn which was in vicks inhalers and desoxyn is the brand name of DRUM ROLL PLEASE!! METHAMPHETAMINE!! MDMA has a very interesting story to say the least! First synthesized by Merck in 1914. Was book shelved due to WWI & became a spoil of war. Our government as well as academics tested it throughout the years. Then in 1950s & 1960s the CIA MKultra Project was in high gear a little known project was also being carried out & I believe it was being tested by the newly created NSA in 1953 to see if MDMA could be put in water supplies in hopes of making the enemy noncompliant to fight but that too was a failure. Then in the 1970s Alexander Shulgin a professor at UC Berkeley was synthesizing MDMA for psychiatric research in marriage counseling. Along with many other phenethylamines (a classification of psychoactive stimulants with a wide range of properties) from methylphenidate, to every type amphetamine & methamphetamine. 1 thing I wanna state about adderall & dexedrine. Adderall is 4 amphetamine salts which is actually 2 types of amphetamine. 3 parts Dextroamphetamine sulfate 1 part Levoamphetamine sulfate. Whereas dexedrine is just Dextroamphetamine sulfate. There is a slight difference in its stimulating effects

I have ADHD. My freshman year was online and I was not diagnosed, so no medication. I requested it because I had started driving. Sophomore year I got a 3.75 GPA - because I studied and enjoyed my classes, plus I took easier courses compared to this year (junior year). I still take Concerta like last year and I’m failing some classes, while excelling in others, and I got my license first try - however, I cannot have music while driving and I need directions because I’m so focused on the road that I ignore everything else. Personally, my Concerta has not affected my grades and I actually don’t like taking it because it makes my heart beat faster (duh, stimulants) but it helps my attention. I really hate that people brag about having “Addy” because my ADHD is debilitating. My sister once stole my medication to sell to friends and I couldn’t use it once we found the bottle because my dad was concerned about anything added to my medication. My sister is much better behaved now, but that month I had difficulty. I also don’t really like taking Concerta but I have to, lol. I know this video was not really for me but I like to add my comments.

After getting a prescription to adderall, I was able to make it to my classes, I had more intellectual confidence and could handle any work load, mental or physical. I became the most productive employee at every place I worked: from construction to office work. I think if you have a healthy energy level, you can do without adderall. But that wasn't the case for me. I would be living in ditch and begging for scraps right now without adderall. The side affects are well worth it! @@nikhil96_ ADHD/ADD doesn't exist, not being able to focus or sit still is normal to some degree and not an abnormality, in fact most people have a hard time concentrating when they have no actual interest into what they should be focussed on. A lot of them probably just like to see it as their "mental illness", as it helps them explain their below average learning-capacity or to cope with the fact, that they're generally a bit slower. Amphetamine causes you to be a lot more motivated, focussed and feel more awake than you are usually, it's god-damn Amphetamine, what do some people expect? It has negative long-term effects when you take it in high doses, doesn't matter if you have a mental "illness" that literally 30% of all the 10-year olds in the US would get diagnosed with if they were tested, or if you simply abuse it for the euphoric high. I feel like my ADD vanished over the least 2 years, yet I still get it prescribed in high doses and constantly abuse just to not feel sober anymore, I rarely feel any motivational effects coming from it anymore or even euphoric ones, as a consequence I lost extreme amounts of weight, my social anxiety disorder got worse which all led to me being a complete failure and isolating me more and more from the outside world. Vyvanse obviously wasn't the only factor that led me down this spiral, but I'm honestly curious where I'd be now without any diagnosis at all. Just hoping others will read this and see it as warning; take high doses every once in a while if you feel like it, even if your not diagnosed with ADHD, and normal therapeutic doses when you really need it for a day. *Never* use it to escape negative feelings of any kind. That's my experience with Amphetamines in general, they can be great for everyone when used correctly, but some individuals might tend to a more addictive type of behavior, which you should realize early enough to stop, but even then there's a small chance you'll end up as bad as me.

The literature is very clear in medication being the most effective treatment for ADHD. Milder cases (particularly those that are barely on the border of an ADHD diagnosis) might benefit well enough from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/psychotherapy exclusively. In some cases, the patient might need a short term fix, might not have the monetary availability or time to schedule multiple visits. The anxiety and depression components of an ADHD patient typically have a common factor; their inability to concentrate, plan, control their impulsively, maintain friendships, lack of productivity, procrastination etc., which impacts negatively their sense of self therefore treatment of ADHD via medication permits the individual in short and long term to better adjust to their environment and simultaneously, allows for the long-term psychological therapy to be more effective (as the patient will be consistent on their visits and keeping up with the established plans). All around, while those adaptations you mention might help some people, it depends greatly on their diagnosis and the difficulty/responsibility required in their line of work and it's good for the long term, however, it doesn't work for the short-term and that might be just as important...

On the other hand, if you are not diagnosed and not taking medication that you NEED, it could cause a vicious cycle where you become less and less able to do things you want to do. Yes, try to improve your health and put in effort first to see if that helps. If you've already tried, then I don't see anything wrong with seeking medication. If simply improving your health through diet and exercise resolves ADHD symptoms, then you might not have ADHD in the first place.

I might need stimulants because of my poor social skills (And the possible presence of ADD). I find out this Thursday. EVEN THEN there are debates as to whether we actually need drugs. For me, I think they're like glasses and I should be on them 24/7. But who's to say?

The guys I’m friends with in college do addys all the time and have AMAZING grades. Most of them have almost 4.0s and are pre med (bio, chem) majors. I knew some of them in high school and their grades were just okay back then. I lowkey want to take them.. I already think I’m ADD anyway

they're probably intelligent independent of the medication. THe medication doesnt raise your iq, that's on you to learn and process all information. Sure it can help with inhibition and perhaps you can have more sustained attention but dont be deceived into thinking the drugs are the basis for their 4.0. If you're struggling w/ possible ADD, seek clinical diagnosis and treatment and see for yourself. Not all people with ADD have the same outcome on the same medication, some may never receive the same benefit others do while some may not tolerate the side effects.

adderall has pushed me to actually function as a normal human being. it can be very helpful to students with adhd. that being said, people who do not have adhd should not be taking adderall. it drives me nuts when neurotypicals say they take it. they physiologically do not need it.

I’m sorry, but unless you suffer from ADHD/ADD and have access to Adderall through through a prescription provided by your doctor, you should NOT be taking Adderall. It’s dangerous and illegal, and it makes it much more difficult for people with ADHD to get the medication they need. That being said, this is a really interesting video and I appreciate you making it! I understand you’re not endorsing people using it, just explaining how it works.

Anyone popping addys and believing they aren’t cheating their way to the top is kidding themselves. You can’t look me in the face and tell me when other students take a few weeks to prepare for a test or essay and you blaze through it with cognitive enhancement like it’s nothing in under three days, retaining every detail and ‘earning’ a passing grade, that’s not cheating.

@Felicia Salazar I had no adverse side effects. The Adderall kept me awake many hours but it wasn't for me. The Ritalin was only a trial to see if it helped, long ago. It did. I used to be in the biotechnology/pharma world and there are tests for gene specifics. It's amazing how doctors are 20 or more years behind the science in things.
