This past week’s elections in Pakistan were meant to be a formality, the outcome - a win for the PMLN - predetermined by the Pakistani military and intelligence apparatus.
But despite their attempt to manage the narrative and meddle with politics, former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party, the PTI, had an unexpected pull with the people.

@@atharkhan6107 With the form 45s that the parties collected from the polling stations and results that do show them as winners. ROs announcing different results than that of the form 45s and even the form 47s numbers not adding up. Some people did upload theirs and shared them on social media with signatures of officials. Also videos are surfacing of the incidents on social media where ROs were attacked, some even went missing so they couldn't act as witness in court and some came out clean claiming that the results were indeed changed. I am sorry but the rigging even by rigging standards wasn't done full proof. Ya'll got caught with your pants down.

Democracy is not suitable for Muslim countries. In democracy there is respect for dissent, freedom of speech ; but is it possible in a Muslim country? In Muslim countries, you can do whatever you want in the name of religion, but anyone who opposes it can be harassed or even killed. Pakistan has horrible black laws like blasphemy law. Why has no government since Imran Khan canceled it? Democracy is not just about winning elections, but respecting the freedom of opinion of all parties is democracy.

Imran Khan is fine as a charismatic figure, but people in Bangladesh and surrounding regions are surprised when he is classed as an 'Islamic leader'. From his clean shaven appearance to his personal life, he was like a full westerner. His life was filled with various western entertainments starting from women's company, did he become an Islamic leader only because he needs the spice of religion to do politics in a Muslim majority country like Pakistan? If he is an Islamic leader, why did he not transform Pakistan into a Sharia country?

Well, official name of Pakistan is Islamic republic of Pakistan, only 3 countries in the world has the name Islamic republic and one is Pakistan. Secondly, we study from the 1st class that Pakistan's constitution is Islamic based as it's purpose of emergence in the Hindu heartland. But I can't defend any implementation of it. Only Muslim can be president and PM and army chief. Despite 4% of 250 million people are non Muslims.@@user-dl9cw4dj5r

@@user-dl9cw4dj5rreal Islamization of my country started during Zia's regime( a military dictator), They were the people who just enhanced the distorted way of religious politics, and I don't say that it was not there from the beginning, it was, but not that much intense since Zia came to power. And after him(1988), the Islamic politics became the most important pillar in my country's politics, that's why Imran Khan, Nawaz sharif, etc.... are using this term as an outcome of the succession of this tradition.

PTI won 180/265 seats. It's 2/3 majority as predicted by Imran Khan months before polls. Leader in jail, no election symbol, rallies not allowed, workers tortured and jailed indefinitely, massive pre-poll rigging, still people came out and voted against the stinking system, establishment, and their puppets. This is the power of vote, this is how people speak, this is the strength of youth. They messed with the wrong generation. Until now, we only saw this in bollywood movies, but people of Pakistan have definitely materialized the concept that your vote can change your destiny. It is the moment to take pride being a Pakistani. My people have caused shockwaves across the power corridors. We've won this battle. It is high time for the establishment to take a step back and allow PTI to form a government to avoid further chaos in the country. Hope the sense prevails. Doesn't matter how long it'll take, eventually the PEOPLE would win.

In the history of Pakistan since 14th August, 1947, i.e.during 77 years of today 30 PM couldn't complete their term of 5 years, either assassinated or thrown from power. This time also I don't see that the coalition Government going to be established between PLN & Others, will survive. The voters between the age group of 18-30 years mostly support Imran Khan. US interfering and sponsering ouster of IK is not a theory AJ. Please be objective. There have been an official document, accepted by Pak and US authorities simaltaniously, stating 'IK should be removed or Pak will be isolated', for which later US claimed that it was just a 'warning' and no follow-ups, which was simply a lie.

Entire world knows that under orders of Pak Army Chief interference, results favouring and won by PTI independent members were changed by felaying declaring results. Democracy marred as Army controlled elections. Form 45 shows independent won and form 47 issued showing defeated PML Nd PPP won. Strange and unbelievable

I am a Pakistani doctor working in oman. I went for a day to vote for PTI. The morning started with trouble. My number sequences was mentioned in a particular polling station that i got from the national sms service, whereas my vote was placed in another station. I bypassed the book registration sequence n started going through CNIC sequence one by one, until i finally got the name of my polling station. It was different than what i had before.

When i was voting, i observed a camera right above my head mounted on the roof focussing whom i vote.

Later, i observed at around 10pm that my phone was not working, nor the mobile internet. This made me go to my close friend n together we went to our polling stations respectively. Both the stations were taken over by Pak Rangers with the electoral staff expelled outside. They were helpless and so were we. The only option we had was to walk away or to confront the rangers in any and extreme possible ways. Is this what the military wants pakistanis to do, hold up weapons against their weapons? Or will sense prevail,is the question. I

Later we saw that our selected candidate lost big time against another mqm candidate. This was impossible. I had witnessed myself how many voters were there for the bringal, and how few to none, for the kite.

This message is for the general knowledge of readers especially journalists In Pakistani elections after completion of balleting all votes are counted in presense of polling agents of all parties and number of all votes received by all parties along with number of votes casted and rejected are written on a form called form 45. This form is signed by every party and returning officer and given a copy to each polling agents. this procedure take place at all polling stations after polling it take hardly 2 to 3 hrs. Each seat of assembly may consist of 50 to 500 polling stations. Next step is to sum up number of votes from all form 45s into another form called form 47. this is totally mathematical process and should have no error. finally this form 47 is send to election commission by returning offices. In this elections their is a huge difference in form 45 total and form 47. As a result many winning candidates are declared loosers while loosers are winners

Pakistani military/army tried its best to confuse and discourage people from voting. But people brought Imran Khan into power with majority. Army started rigging elections… but it was too late as results were already out.

The guy they used for commentary, fahd hussain was the minister of information (media minister) when journalists were abducted, tortured and killed. The disconnect International media has with ground on situation is appaling.

As a Pakistani, It is very heart breaking and unfortunate to see Pak army been defame around the world but this is where the "Establishment" has to understand if you do not respect the will of the people, you go down and go down hard. If they have to sustain there legitimacy, they have to go back in there barracks and stop mandailing in politics.

As a Pakistani living in Pakistani and voted in the elections, I commend you for showing the country as the circus it is. I started laughing at some points when the environment was being described. Imran Khan isn’t the hero people think he is and he’s just as bad - if not worse - than the others. He’s just wrapped in a shiny wrapping paper. All of them need to go.
