I used to build circuit boards, and while I was prepping some wires for mods, I was tinning them in a solder pot. A bit of explanation first: For anyone who doesn't know, a solder pot is just a pot of liquid metal. But we can't just use solder wire in it, because most have rosin cores, and the fumes are not good. So to fill it, we used these bars of lead solder that are about a foot and a half long, and weigh about 2 pounds. With a brand new pot, you'd just set one end of the bar into it and let it melt and essentially collapse on itself. But with a pot that already had solder, you'd just dip the bar in and let some melt off to top up the solder level. Doing this made the end of a rectangular bar taper into a point like an icicle. So we'd be left with a pointy spike that could melt. Back to the relevant part: I was tinning wires when my supervisor came over and picked up the solder bar. She did that thing people in movies do with daggers, where they rest the point on one finger and twirl it. So with both elbows on my counter, twirling the solder bar like a dagger, she asks me, "Do you know what the perfect murder weapon is?" Obviously with her holding a bar of pointy metal that can be melted down in minutes, I say "A solder bar?" She then came out of her deep thought, set it down and said, "No. Fire. It'll burn the evidence." Then she walked away.
