Does Emgality work for Migraine Headaches?

In this video I look at a new migraine medication. It is much different than other migraine drugs like Imitrex or Sumatripan. I discuss side effects and the result of the clinical study. I hope you find this useful.

8 months and I'm feeling better then I've been in 20 years! No side effects at all and no more migraines. I had to fight for my insurance to pay for it !

Is it safe for epileptics like me to take it, I have myoclonic tonic epilepsy and I take keppra for it and I do tend to get migraines from time to time due to my epilepsy, I was considering on using this but need to ask first

Not good. I had this 12 days ago, I ended up in the ER. Caused right leg weakness, joint stiffness, and sharp stabbing pains. Now I have to use a cane to walk... not worth it.

Hey Jeff - any update on the efficacy numbers? Maybe also include cluster migraines as there is a different dosage load?

This sounds like it would be an immediate reaction. Why is it not? My husband has done his 2nd months injection. Still has headaches. They are daily; why would he be prescribed Emgality if it works best for sporadic migraines?

Hello Jeff, I am a physician and chronic migraine patient. I've been on Aimovig since February 2020, went great until the summer. Then I got severely depressed but the drug still worked. On October I had to stop working due to migraines, up to now I'm feeling really really bad, like the pain is worse than ever as it is the depression. None is supervising, totally abandoned due to covid I guess (except for my pharmacist, ha!). I really think this drug is killing me, every day's getting worse.

I took the double dose 2/16/20..the injections really hurt. It's only been 3 days so it's to early to say if it works. Right now, it doesn't. I'll check back with you in a month..🙏

my first dose i had take two shots but after you take oen once a month been a year for me now i rarly get mingraines

@@humanorb2010 I'm really happy it worked for you... But it didn't work for me, I experienced some side effects which they determined it was not safe to continue. I asked to try Uberly, I was told I had to try some other meds first. Then if no success there I may qualify for the Uberly. I hope it works, because I'm just exhausted from trying🥴

@@humanorb2010 Thanks Robby, it's just exhausting.. You know your quality of life is just not the same. I guess I'm tired of complaining, and still feeling the same. I miss the me before the headaches. I rarely have visitors because the sound of their voices hurts my ears, I miss the sunshine because the light hurts my eyes. With all of that comes the anxiety, It's just hard...

i too this year ago i stoped because i could not afford it but it helped alot worse i got was a rash in the injected area if you wanted me talk about my expeinse with it id be willing too

Decreased migraines from 6 a week to 3 but side effects are so bad I can't keep it up. Side effects on me were a 15 kilo weight gain , chronic constipation, upper go pain, depression to the point I was crying for no reason. I'm a chronic migraine sufferer of 8 years . Botox, occipital nerve block and Aimovig did not work. I'm so sad at the side effects.

I think we all feel pretty the same, with so many treatments before this one. I am since February taking Aimovig, became very depressed during the summer, in spite of having much less pain. I just don't know what to do...

Came here to ask the same - I know Engality has a different loading dose for clusters - 3-100mg shots per month for the duration of the cluster window. I'm about to try it tomorrow.

It doesn’t seem to work for the majority. The side effects seem to be pretty serious and some folks have claimed the side effects haven’t stopped even though they have discontinued the medication.

I took Emgality 12 days ago. Caused a very severe reaction in my leg that sent me to the ER. The company just doesn’t report this..
