If I remember rightly, Europa Park told us on a club trip that they get 1850 per hour on silver star and B&M told them max capacity would be 1750.

That's a very nice capacity! Sadly too many parks have 'top rides' with only a capacity of 1200 people per hour (or even less), resulting in long wait times...

Very proud to work on the Arthur ride! We are always trying to make our operations as smooth as possible. Making sure that all luggage is stowed away in our lockers, that all guests meet the safety requirements and grouping the guests prior to boarding. And, not everybody does that, I am always doing it with a smile!

We germans are efficent. Blue Fire was designed to operate 5 Trains, so we make sure that it does operate all 5 of them smoothly.

That's the sort of thing I pull in RCT2 when it's pay-per-ride. Seven trains, 42 per train, 30-second dispatches maximum.

Do they ever operate 5 trains? I think they are more efficient with 4, so they never operate 5.

Actually: Blue Fire operates 4 trains.. they have a 5th train, but it is only there as extra in case another train breaks down..

Blue Fire can't run with 5 trains, otherwise there would be some stacking issues. In fact, even with 3 trains they can get very close to full capacity if they don't use the unload station.

And in addition, if the park has a lot of people and the queues run up to half an hour to an hour, the park remains open for hours extra after closing time. In case of extreme numbers, it will remain open up to 4 hours. This is what I call: caring about your visitors.

Cake_ From_A_Pan When a certain number of people are in the park, it's determined on a daily basis how long they stay open. 9 AM to 6 PM is the fixed opening time. But the more people, the longer open. And that can be from 9AM to 9 PM unexpectedly for the guests. An extra service for longer waiting times. Disneyland doesn't care for their guests. Most of the theme parks like Port aventura, Disneyland Paris or Thorpe park seem to even hate them. Europa park loves their guests and work as fast as the flash and superman together.

You also should've mentioned that Matterhorn Blitz has a dual loading station, so they are actually dispatching two trains at once. Same with Poseidon.

I love Europa Park for being so fast and friendly. I just came back from Port Aventura and i was shocked how slow and unfriendly some of the staff was. I was put out of first row to take seat in second row just because i dont have GOLD Express just the "normal Express". I would get it if somebody was in line for first row but nah. They rather let first row be free than letting ride me, who payed 53 € on top of entrance. Happened at Furius Baco (5 min. express line) lots of empty seats -.-

Port Aventura operations are terrible TERRIBLE. At furius bacco it tooke them 4 mins+ for each train. That's why you always have 1-3 hours waiting time on most days. Europapark has far more visitors but far less waiting time.

I wish Universal would buy PortAventura. It would make so much sense. They lack a European park, and PortAventura has the balance of thrills and theming Universal is known for (though Universal executes it better). Universal could easily boost attendance by replacing the staff.

Aaron's Themepark World Efteling has 1-2 minutes operations, it's my home park. Only Baron is very fast, but Python and Joris are more like That 1-2 minute

Can't agree more. Europa Park does still have its flaws, but the overall package is just incredible and that includes an incredible throughput at their attractions. For me, still the best run park in the world.

Fast dispatches are more of a function of the guests than the staff, so I could see nothing topping Germany, as they're all a very no nonsense, clean, efficient people.

I work at a park in the US and I can vouch that 9/10 times, the guests are the reason that we dispatch late.

I work at Kings Island, and pretty much the only reason we ever have slow dispatches is because guests can’t get in the damn train or people just don’t follow instructions

Lmao. Even when you tell them you have 45 seconds once those gates open, to be seated, they just look like your talking to snakes. I've only sent one train where guests actually moved fast. I normally just close the gates on them and say you'll be on the next one.

Don’t forget that there are many French and Swiss visitors in the park because it is directly on the French and close to the Swiss border. And trust me the Swiss are very slow......veeeeery slow!

I remember when I went on Alpen Express about 10 years ago (before the VR) and the dispatch was about 15 seconds. The train was leaving the station before everyone even had their bars down and the staff just stood at the end of the platform pushing down any remaining lap bars as the train was moving out the station 😂

I've been to Europapark a lot (it's the closest themepark to where I live). And recently I've been to Universal and Disney in America. Some rides had very small/weird capacities compared to the size of the parc. The one with the round boats on the river took them forever to get loaded compared to the one at Europapark.

That's standard on arthur, as it is with Alpenblitz, but also with Top Thrill Dragster. Kingda Ka is also supposed to work like that, but they screwed up with a very bad freefall attraction.

Few years ago they were even faster on some rides, because they actually did not manually check the restraints. At that time they only checked Blue Fire. If the systems said the restraints are good it was a go. I think they did it like this until around 2011

These dispatches are probably so much faster since they have actual adults running them instead of lousy teenagers. Not all of them are lousy, but most are.

Gigi H hey, I’m a teenage ride op and I do my absolute darndest to get all my rides out as quickly as possible. But that’s mostly because I’m an enthusiast who knows how sucky it is when bad operations slow down wait times. My non-enthusiast colleagues don’t put as much emphasis on fast operations

im a teen too, and I know that there are great teen operators out there. Although, in my local cedar fair park, the workers are very lousy and take forever. For example, I was getting ready to go on a ride, and someone threw up. I was in the line though. The workers just stood there, disgusted about the throw up. They were doing nothing, others noticed and they started offering to help clean it since these teens weren’t having it. Like at least know that being a operator includes having to clean throw up from riders.

In Europapark there is a decent amount of teens coordinating the operations. Last time I‘ve been there the operation at the Arthur-coaster has been done entirely by teens except for one adult. In my opinion they made a really good job (entering Arthur is quite stressful). So in my opinion this can‘t be the reason for faster operation times. Greetings from Germany

Europa Park's dispatch times are crazy! Of the parks in the US, only Disney, Universal, and perhaps Cedar Point even approach that speed on a regular basis. I'm guessing they probably get 2-3 times the throughput of most regional US parks.

There is a documentary about the new coaster where the Mack engineers show concepts to reach the full capacity. The new coaster has 36 seconds in the station and loading should take 12s less so 24s max. :D

I'm also noticing some policy differences that seem to majorly speed up dispatch times... 1. Loose item rules appear to be much less strict. On EuroMir, that woman just puts her purse down at her feet and holds her cellphone in her hand. Few parks in America would allow that. 2. I'm also noticing that there's no security gate at the exit like most major American parks. Dispatches don't have the wait on the exit platform to be clear of guests. 3. None of the coasters appear to have seat belts as secondary restraints.

It‘s really suprising to see, that you are all so amazed by these operation times. Until I found this channel today I was sometimes even complaining about the time it took me to enter in Europapark. But there is a saying here in Germany: You never know how good your things at home are, until a foreigner aknowledges them.

There are different things to mention: Blue-fire, SilverStar and Woodan include in the dispatch the time required for visitors to drop the bags. If the dispatch is fast, it is not necessarily a politics of the park, but especially in the culture of the visitors: indeed, the visitors do not like being in line and worse than that, would not want to be regarded as "the guy who delays the attraction. " I usually go to EP and sometimes to Florida, and I must say that the behavior of American visitors is sometimes shocking, unintentionally. It should also be noted that some park staff like to play processes and rules to delay departures, and sometimes it's for safety, but it seems to me that it's mostly to be a sheriff at detriment of waiting. As an Europa-Park annual pass holder, I'm really sure that blue fire never ran with 5 trains because one of them will always stuck on the MCBR. But really good video, Europa-Park is amazing for sure :D

I’m going to spend the day riding roller coasters, so I think I’ll bring a purse the size of an average dog so that I have something to place loosely at my feet, and then I’ll hold my phone in my hand throughout the ride.

Have you ever seen "Bobbahn" in Heide Park? We had this year around 15 seconds dispatch-time. Everytime a new train arrived to station, the train was dispatched. So this times are well,but there better ones :)

It does not always depend on how fast the staff check the seats it’s how fast people unload and load at that time which could be someone old or someone who has back pains or something so it will never be a consistent timing

I was there in the holiday season so the park was really full but I still always only waited like 20 minutes top everywhere it is so awesome :D ok sometimes it was a bit longer but at Heide Park I once waited on a weekend outside of nation wide holiday 1 hour 40 Minutes so yeah Europa Park is awesome in that perspective

Ugh yeah Six Flags America is the wooooorst. They almost never have long lines (because, let's face it, it's not a good park) but you somehow still stand in line for at least 30 minutes 🙄

I'm there every weekend just about. The only lines I've ever seen are in the water park. Otherwise every ride is a walk on within one or two trains

@@JosephJohnson-gu5fw true! It's my home park so I'm there a lot too, but still even when it's walk on it takes them forever to load the trains. Batwing is the worst of all (whenever it's not down for maintenance). I wish they could do better. It is the worst six flags park I've ever been to.

Yeah, like that's gonna happen. The dispatches may be slow but most coasters don't really see a line since the dry park's attendance is low most of the time. The one coaster that needs help the most is Batwing. What's the point in having a double loading station if you never use both sides? Hoping floorless Apocalypse doesn't go down the same way.

When you visit this park for the first time as a kid, it's actually kinda scary how they just push you into the trains, you don't have time to mentally prepare yourself at all.😱😂

Here's what I want to know: HOW THE HELL CAN THEY RUN SO MANY TRAINS?!?! 6 on their SuperSplash, 9 (3 times as many than on a typical spinner) on Euro Mir, 12 on the wild mouse, 5 on Blue Fire and the bobsled, 8 on Arthur, 22 on Poisedon (Seems like overkill) - MIND EXPLODING!!!!

There are various reasons for this. For example "Matterhorn Blitz" Wild Mouse coaster but with an elevator. Its the coaster with the weakest Operation System in the park and still, they load two trains at once in the station and sent both trains into the elevator. At Poseidon there are four boats in the station. Two boats are unloaded and loaded, two unloaded. Euro Mir does the same, just with two trains, while a third is already in the final brake and another is just coming. During this, four trains are carried up the lift hill (spiral lift hill). Arthur uses an assembly line system, so the trains never stop at the station.

The "Pirates in Batavia" Indoor Boat Ride (very similiar to Pirates of Caribean in Disneyland but better) has two boats in the loading station, while two other boats are getting unloaded on the lower floor. Both stations are separated from each other and an unmanned boat goes up between the two stations. The B&M megacoaster is operated by 4 employees at the same time. This means that in each train with 36 people each, 4 employees check the hangers in each row at high speed. Two other trains are already in the block area and only for a maximum of 20-30 seconds. Could give more examples, but i think you get a sense of how it works 😅

Knoebels in the US can compare in terms of doing 30-second dispatches, and CP can occasionally hit some great intervals on rides like Gatekeeper (rivaling Silver Star), but otherwise these operations are a rare find!

I would put the number of seats next to the train number since that plays a big part in operations.

Europa Park ops are amazing! Wow! If I had to guess, I think the Disney parks probably do the best job of operations in the US. Incredicoaster for example runs five trains and dispatches every thirty seconds.

You have to say that blue fire has a splited station, you exit the train, then the empty train rolls forward to the entrance gates and then the people can sit down.

I think it is normal for pegasus to have slow dispatches. When I visited europa park every coaster that I rode had insanely quick dispatches except for pegasus(even without vr)

Actually the Blue Fire doesn't use its 5 trains all the time. Most of the time it's more like 3 or 4 trains at most

But honestly it was less checked if you were really save in the seat than in most other German parks. The only pulled the seat "belt" but they didn't try to push it down for even more safety.

One time at parc Asterix their bobsled coaster had operations so fast that they had two trains on the lift hill at once

@@nathaneli5736 on a Rollercoaster, it is never allowed for 2 trains to be in the Same Block. that applies to every Single Roller rollercoaster, except Powered coasters. So you either lie or the second train Stopped on the Lifthill.
