The camera crew is likely there for shots for the show early before Gordon arrives. Which is why he catches people off guard when he arrives a day or two early.

Agreed 1000%. This is a man who has earned his (Michellin) stars, made it his mission to get to know the locals & local specialties wherever his restaurants are (be they Italy, France, New York, London, etc), learn the language (French, Italian, etc). He works his ass off and he KNOWS HIS SHIT. He's so incredibly nice. When I went to his Chelsea, London, restaurant he was there. He was so incredibly nice. I was afraid to ask for a tour so I didn't. The maitre'd overheard me so Tamsey came out and gave me and mother and my family a personal tour. We're not celebrities. We didn't spend thousands and buy one of each. But he still treated us like we were.

Surprised nobody mention it but they put up cameras in the restaurant before he arrives, they move on their own i think so there is nobody actually there holding a camera since a camera crew would likely interfere with the restaurants business i would assume.

Although maybe a little contrived, presumably the implication was that if a restaurant is struggling to attract customers then it isn't helped by the fact that it's difficult to find. Location counts for a lot and maybe more could have been done to help potential customers find it.

If they live there, their familiar with it. Near where I live, there's a long semi-steep hill, most people at the bottom are going around 5 miles over the speed limit. Its pretty barren and the traffic is light going down. But. A police officer sits at the bottom of the hill looking for people who don't sit on their brakes all the way down. (I'm led to understand this police officer was later fired for the number of complaints received about him) I mention it as the hill with the police officer at the bottom, and everyone gets Irate and complains about it. Two west signs? Is something that would be known.

The camera crew showed up a week before, in advance, to record the average day-in-day-out, and gordon is supposed to just show up somewhere in that time frame unannounced to catch them off-guard so they can't have everything pre-planned but can still prepare a bit. bet the camera crew got lost the first time, too.

That opening bit from the owner sounds like exactly what you'd THINK every owner of one of these restaurants has on their mind when they ask for Gordon's help (smart guy + great chef + successful restaurants = person who could help me fix my restaurant) as opposed to most who don't know what's wrong or why Gordon's qualified to help them when the evidence is right in front of their faces.
