The introduction of Salmoneus in this episode is one of its most significant highlights. Gotta love Sal. Kevin Sorbo and Robert Trebor had really good chemistry.

I agree. I love Salmoneus, but he disappeared in later years. Frankly, Hercules Season One was my favorite: the show was bubbling with potential, myth and magic.

Based on an actual Greek myth, but altered so that Herc doesn’t actually agree to impregnate the 50 daughters of the king. Herc doesn’t want to be an absentee father.

Well, he wasn't an absent father before. He was there for his three kids, until Hera took that away. Of course, having kids by 50 different women would be an absolute tough job, so I can see anyone (almost) declining to take that role.

Original Greek epics of Hercules, HERA drove him to madness so terrible he butchered his own wife and children , when HERA'S magical madness wore off he realized what he had done and then nearly went insane , , , but I enjoy this TV show version a lot more , Kevin Sorbo is a legend in his own right 👍😸

My advice for Herc would've been to pace yourself. Don't go for all 50 at once, just have 2 or 3 a day, and enjoy the best month of your life. And if you're really a one woman kind of man, then just take them one at a time.

Herc is a great example of a gentlemen.. He's all man when comes to fighting..getting violent to help others..doing what needs to be done. And he's gentle with those who require it children and women...he could've been savage at these women who were throwing themselves at him..but he let them down gently .. A true Gentlemen..not much of those around today.

What a classic. I loved this show. I watched it with my dad all the time. I figured this version of Hercules is more like Paul Bunion. He was a real man of the people who seemed to represent what the best person could be. I get that to market a show like this they needed to make Herc a likable hero that modern audiences could get behind. Heracles really would have not resonated with people today.

Zena was the most vigorous against Hercules, she was a meditator and could track and keep him threatened. She was against him in the first episode and in the last when her group killed his new wife and almost him. These woman are somewhere, kill, destroy, annihilate them: track them and keep them threatened.
